Can you extend a region?

I want to extend an existing Oracle Applications page.
All I want to do is add 3 buttons which have different urls depending on the user's login session information (stored in the database).
The page is in Iprocurement. I've downloaded the page and related classes to JDeveloper and can run it from JDeveloper.
However I can't find a way to simply extend the region in the existing page.
Is there any way to do this or do I have to actually customise the standard page instead of extending it?

The problem with that is that when you use the extend property for the PageLayout region you cannot then change or add new regions to the page.
The best solution I have come up with so far is to create the new region then take a copy of the existing Oracle page, insert a new region and extend it from the region I've created.

  • How many times can you change the region of the computer

    i need to know. is there a limit?

    That's not what the above KB article says but I've never tried it.
    This is what is states:
    In Mac OS X, this dialog box appears the first time a DVD disc is inserted:
    "Since this is the first use of a DVD disc, the drive region code must be initialized before playing.
    "New Drive Setting: Region Code 1
    "You can only change the drive region code 5 more times."
    As I read that, once you set the region code, there are five additional changes permitted. As I said I haven't tried it and I'm not about to.

  • Can you define custom regions?

    I'd like to be able to create a region chart in Power Map but rather than using regions that are recognized such as postcodes or counties, I'd like to be able to define my own, in my case the areas that my sales branches cover.
    I have a file which has all the coordinates for each branch to map the outlines.
    Is this possible at the moment / is it in the September update?

  • Can you create more region display points??

    There are a number of region display ponts ie Page Template Region Position 1, Page Template Region Position 2.........> Page Template Region Position 8. Is it possible to create another ie Page Template Region Position 9 which is directly below 8??? If so.. how?? I am building a application and am using alot of conditional displays and i have run out of regions!
    thanks Roddy

    Hello,
    No you can not create more region display points.
    But each display point can have N number of regions in it and conditions are at a region level not a region display point level.

  • Can you extend a wireless connection from one time capsule to another wirelessly?

    We have two time capsules, one is connected to our modem and is transmitting a wireless network. It is in a really out of the way location, and we would like to set up a network printer in a different location on that network, so we got another time capsule (to hook up to the printer at a different location). Could we possibly extend the wireless network to the second time capsule with the printer attached so we could use the printer as a network printer? (If yes, HOW?)

    Could we possibly extend the wireless network to the second time capsule
    Yes, if the second Time Capsule is located where it can receive a good wireless signal from the other Time Capsule.
    To test, move a laptop to the proposed location of the second Time Capsule. Log on using wireless on the laptop and spend some time to make sure that you have a good, solid reliable Internet connection. If you do, then the Time Capsule should work well at that location.
    You would use AirPort Utility to configure the second Time Capsule to "Extend a wireless network".  If you open AirPort Utility now as a test, can you "see" both Time Capsules there?
    The reason that we ask is that you might need to check some settings on the "main" Time Capsule to be able to configure the second Time Capsule correctly.
    with the printer attached so we could use the printer as a network printer?
    If the same printer works on your Time Capsule now, then it should work on the second Time Capsule. If it is working now, you may not even need to re-install it again when it is connected to the second Time Capsule.
    This is one of those times when you will not know if something will work until you actually try.

  • Can you extend Time Capsule with an external drive?

    Hello, I was thinking of purchasing a 500 GB Time Capsule. I know that one day this size will be too small for my stuff, so my question is if I was to then plug in my external 750 GB USB drive to the Time Capsule, would I then have a second drive available for me to do my back ups? I am not expecting some sort of RAID where I'd have a 1.25 GB drive, just want to know what happens when a second drive is connected to the Time Capsule, does it show both drives as possible Time Machine drives?
    Cheers and thanks,
    Andrew.

    Hello, thanks for your reply, but as I mentioned in the posting, I am not meaning of extending the capacity. What I am asking is if Time Capsule allows you to select both the internal (Time Capsule) drive and the externally connected drive to use as a back up. And the reason that I am thinking of the 500 GB version is that I cannot afford the 1 TB version at this time, but know that I will need more capacity later. So in the Time Machine Preferences can you press the Change Disk button can you select the Time Capsule drive or the Externally connected drive to the Time Capsule?
    Cheers and thanks.

  • How many times can you reset the Region?

    A few minutes ago, I put a DVD into my MacBook for the first time.
    It was a Region 1 disc, and immediately Apple's DVD player opened and began playing the disc. I was rather surprised, because the first time I inserted a DVD into my Mac Mini, Apple's DVD player opened, but informed me that the region must first be set before I could play a disc.
    (I know that the system preferences can be set so the machine "does nothing" when a DVD is inserted. It isn't the fact that the DVD player opened that surprised me--it's the fact that I wasn't given a region-setting warning before the DVD began playing for the first time.)
    I then stopped the DVD player, ejected the disc and inserted a Region 2 disc. Again, Apple's DVD player opened, and when I hit the play button, I received the notice that the drive's region was set for 1 and would have to be changed to play the Region 2 disc.
    However, what was strange is that the message indicated that I only had 4 region changes remaining.
    I always thought we were allowed 5 region changes.
    Am I wrong, or is it possible that the region setting on my MacBook had already been set (and perhaps even reset) before I purchased it?

    I encountered the same thing when I played a DVD in my MacBook for the first time, I had assumed it would ask me as my other Macs had done. However, it appears that since Panther, an administrative user does not get asked this question. The following is from the Info Article on DVD Regions
    "In Mac OS X 10.3 Panther and later, users with administrative privileges aren't prompted to change the region the very first time a DVD-Video disc of a single region is inserted. Instead, the region of the DVD drive is automatically set to the region of the DVD disc that was inserted."
    The article also indicates that 5 changes is the standard, so if you were logged in under an admin account it automatically set the first one for you.

  • How can you extend the signal range of time capsule

    I have a time capsule in my office down stairs, and my apple tv upstairs, but the signal strength is very week (only one bar) so when I try to stream a movie is very slow. There is some thing I can do or buy to make the signal stronger??
    Thank you.

    You can add an AirPort Extreme to "extend a wireless network" to improve the wireless signal. Locate the AirPort Extreme approximately half way between the Time Capsule and the Apple TV.
    Setup instructions are here:

  • Can you extend a wifi network using a 2nd wired Airport Extreme ?

    Hi
    my cable broadbank service enters one corner of my house via a router/modem that I have running in modem mode.
    I then have a ethernet cable to a new Airport Extreme (my primary router) next to it that I am using to create a Wifi network (with the same name for 2.4GHz and 5GHz)
    I need to get a strong a signal as possible to opposite corners of the house.
    At the moment I have a 2nd Airport Extreme (my secondary router) in the opposite corner of the house which Extends the network from the first router.
    This AE also has some devices in the same room connected to it by ethernet.
    Thise devices are getting very patchy internet service.
    I have speeds over 100Mbps available close to my primary router, and around 7 Mbps next to the secondary.
    I also have an unused ethernet cable running from the room with the primary router to a room near to the secondary router.
    My question:
    If I plugged my secondary router into that ethernet cable (into it's input socket) and the other end to the output of the primary router: would I be able to use the secondary router to extend the same Wifi network that the primary was broadcasting ? Or would I end up having to create a completely new network (and then worry about mobile devices switching between them when you move around the house).
    Followup question:
    If the idea above doesn't pan out - would I typically be better off stationing the secondary router in the middle of the house to extend the network range - or in a far corner as it currently is ?
    thanks in advance.
    Christian.

    If I plugged my secondary router into that ethernet cable (into it's input socket) and the other end to the output of the primary router: would I be able to use the secondary router to extend the same Wifi network that the primary was broadcasting ?
    Yes. Apple's set up wizard calls this "extend using Ethernet".  Since there is virtually no signal loss through the Ethernet cable, the second AirPort Extreme will receive a much faster signal to extend.
    If the idea above doesn't pan out - would I typically be better off stationing the secondary router in the middle of the house to extend the network range
    Yes.  As it stands, the wireless signal has really slowed down a great deal by the time that it reaches the far end of the house. And, the Extreme can only wirelessly extend the speed of signal that it receives from the "main" Extreme.  It can make the signal that it receives stronger, but it cannot make the signal go faster.
    So, locating the second Extreme about half way between the "main" Extreme and far end of the house would be the best compromise. The network speed will still slow by at least half when you do it this way, and any obstructions in the signal path will slow the signal even more.
    It is easy to see why extending using Ethernet.....if possible.....provides much better performance for the network.

  • Can you extend with AEBS networks with other brand wireless routers?

    Just need to extend my network a little further. I am hoping a low cost belkin could do that meaning I need that belkin to extend my AEBS network......is that possible??
    my AEBS is about 1 year old.

    The answer is "it depends" but as a rule, no. "Extend" a network is strictly for Apple AirPort networks.
    The only way I can think this would be possible is by creating a WDS. You can do this using a Linksys WRT54G router, perhaps others as well, but it is tedious to set up. A WDS will also result in degraded overall network performance even when it's configured perfectly.
    When you examine all the alternatives, you'll probably agree that buying an AirPort Express is the only practicable solution.

  • Can you "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" via Distiller Server 8?

    We use Distiller Server 8 to generate upwards of 500 PDF files (soft proofs of ads) each day. We would like the recipients of these files to be able to attach comments and markup the PDFs as a way of providing corrections back to us. The vast majority of these recipients use Adobe Reader, which means we have to "Extend Features in Adobe Reader" in order for the recipients to be able to do this. Is there any way to enable this feature using Distiller Server 8? If so, how?
    Thanks.

  • Can you shift a region along to an 8th or 16th note?

    I downloaded a MIDI file. Dragged it into the GB screen, no problem. Due to an error in the original, I found I needed to shift all regions to the level of the eighth note (quaver), but could only get them to the quarter note (crotchet). Is there something really basic I'm not doing? (You know: when a song starts on the half-beat, but you want it to start right on the beat--that's the problem I was trying to fix by dragging the regions.) Thanks.

    Never mind. Found it here. http://www.bulletsandbones.com/GB/FAQPages/FineRegionAdjustments.html  Turn off the "snap to grid" function under CONTROL. Simple.   That site really is a wealth of knowledge. A shame about the colour scheme.  Thanks.

  • Can you specify spry:region to call a dataset dynamically?

    Hi. I am new to spry. I have a certain number of different datasets within 1 html page, let's say i have ds1, ds2, ds3 and so on..
    So the calling page now should have a drop down select menu that will enable the user to call on the appropriate dataset based on the selected option he did.
    Any idea? is this possible? I dont think filter will be good here since my data is coming from different datasets.. so i was thinking of having spry:region=whateverthevalueoftheuserhasselected.value. but for the intellisense i should specify a "specific" dataset name. but it should be a variable. please help!!! Thank You!!!

    Wow this is great! It working!!!! thanks for this! I'll post my solution for others' reference as well.
    The code below is my solution to switch to display 3 different datasets by user selection.
    Here's for the script in the <head>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var testDS = new Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet("testsschedule.html", "test");
    var testDS2 = new Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet("testsschedule.html", "test2");
    var testDS3 = new Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet("testsschedule.html", "test3");
    var dsShell = new Spry.Data.DataSetShell(testDS);
    function ChangeDS(selectObject)
    var selectedValue = selectObject.options[selectObject.selectedIndex].value;
    switch(selectedValue)
    case "testDS":
               dsShell.setInternalDataSet(testDS, true);
              break;
    case "testDS2":
               dsShell.setInternalDataSet(testDS2, true);
              break;
    case "testDS3":
               dsShell.setInternalDataSet(testDS3, true);
              break;
              default:
              break;
    </script>
    Here's the select option code:
    <select name="selectCategory" id="selectCategory" onchange="ChangeDS(this)";>
    <option value="testDS">Option1</option>
    <option value="testDS2">Option2</option>
    <option value="testDS3">Option3</option>
    </select>
    And here's my div to display the dataset!
    <div id="liveTable" spry:region="dsShell" class="SpryHiddenRegion">
    <table border="1" class="dataTable">
       <tr>
         <th spry:sort="@id">@id</th>
         <th spry:sort="CourseName">CourseName</th>
         <th spry:sort="January">January</th>
         <th spry:sort="January">Februaru</th>
       </tr>
       <tr spry:repeat="dsShell">
         <td>{@id}</td>
         <td>{CourseName}</td>
         <td>{January}</td>
         <td>{Februaru}</td>
       </tr>
    </table>
    </div>
    Thanks big time gramps!!!

  • Can you extend multiple over set text boxes at once?

    I am in the process of changing many large Indesign files from MAC to PC which has created, in some cases, hundreds of over set text boxes.
    I'm looking for a faster way of fixing these files as extending each of these text boxes one by one is taking up a lot of time. I am currently using the pre-flight panel.
    I have Indesign CC 2014.1.

    Not the answer to your question, but merely moving from Mac to PC should not be causing text to go overset. Seems likely you've got a font substitution, or perhaps you've also changed the version of ID, or both.
    Do you have an object style assigned to the text frames? Perhaps redefining the style to include auto-sizing will solve the problem.
