Can you extract a website from cookies.plist
there is an old website that i want to open but in the cookies.plist it does not blatantly have the site. i was just wondering if there was any possible way to retrieve that web site.
also if i downloaded a picture from the internet to one computer (which i have sold since then) and transfered it to this computer. can you extract the web site from the file some how? i do not have the original photo anymore, the reason i want to know the address is because there were other photos on the site i wanted.

No. You can check your browser history, but depending on how long ago you were there, your history may not extend that far back.

Unless the name of the file somehow contains the name of the site you downloaded it from, no on this as well.
Your best bet in both instances is to try googling with keywords and text strings you remember from those sites.

Can you change the music video's *Media Type* to Music from under the Options tab of the *Get Info* window for the track in iTunes?
I'm not sure if you can, but hey its at least worth a try. It's all I have though.
Otherwise, this is not possible via iTunes. The only way you would be able to extract the audio is through the help of some third party application. Not sure how simple or complicated the process is.

When I am designing at 1x resolution, can I extract assets from smart objects or linked smart objects for 2x or more? If so, how do they scale up?
Yes with caveats.
PSD and Illustrator smart objects are also re-rendered and smoothly scaled to the requested resolution.
Other smart objects (including those with filters) are only scaled up from the resolution they are at within the Photoshop file. If you want them to re-render, you can paste them at 100% resolution into a linked smart object and get the smooth scaling. -

Can you extract an image from the Preview Data?
Sometime ago I deleted an image and it's completely gone from my hard drive and backups. There is still an image in the Library and even clicking on it shows the 1:1 view.
Is there a way of extracting this from the Preview Data - anything would be better than nothing?

Move the domain.sites file from one computer to the other.
The file is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Move this file to the same location on the other computer and double click and iWeb will open it. Remember, it is your User Library that you want and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
Just create a new site on the same domain file and it will appear below the other site. If you want them side by side then duplicate your domain file and have one site per a domain file and they can then be side by side. -

iPhoto on the iPad can be used to make photo books, but not calendars. It is a very different program from the Mac version of iPhoto. I hope you have access to a mac to create your christmas calendar.

Message was edited by: CormacYou need to go to ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Images and Control-click on each file and open it using Preview. Then you can export the image if you choose. Just keep in mind that these will be thumbnail quality, so don't expect large images, either in file size or physical size.
