Can you find lost photos?

I have lots of pictures in various libraries on the hard disk. I cannot search for them, and so I cannot get iPhoto to change libraries. If I could only search for the files in the iphoto library, I could find the libraries! Can you search for JPEG or CIMF files? Can anyone think of how to find these pictures? Hi, Scott. The default location for an iPhoto Library is inside the Pictures folder inside your user account's Home folder: Hard drive>Users>your username>Pictures>iPhoto Library. If you have multiple iPhoto Library folders that you've renamed and moved, and now you can't remember their names or where you put them, what would probably make the most sense is to put all of them back inside your Pictures folder as you locate them (being careful to make sure they all have different names first).
To locate them, use the Find... command in the Finder's File menu. From the leftmost pull-down menu in the Find... dialog box, choose Extension, and enter .jpg into the search text box. The resulting list of hits will show you all the .jpg files on your hard drive. That process just took about 1.5 minutes to list all of the 14,108 .jpg files on my 1GHz Powerbook's hard drive.

I have a G3 iBook with OS X.2.8 and iPhoto 2. I was burning photos from my library to CD and durung this process I accidentally ejected the CD. Of course, my computer hated that. Not only that these photos (~200) are gone from the CD, but I can"t even find them on my computer anymore. I don't understand why they would be gone fom my iPhoto library. HELP!

It's not clear where "there" is when you say all the other photos are still there. Are you running the iPhoto application, or are you looking in a Finder window.
I suspect you dragged the images to CD in a Finder window instead of first exporting copies from iPhoto (one can only guess since you haven't confirmed), but you still haven't mentioned whether (or to what extent) iPhoto works. It's not clear whether you need to run disk repair or if you need to rebuild your iPhoto library. From what place did you initially drag the files? If it was a folder, how was the folder named (or did you drag from the iPhoto application window)? In either case, Jaguar would have made copies prior to starting the burn, and the original images should still be intact somewhere.

If they are not on your 'My Photo Stream, you only other option is try to restore an iOS device from a backup of your lost iPhone (either via iTunes or iCloud, where ever you were backing up to). Obviously you will need ot inherit and iOS device to do this.

How can I find duplicate photos withough going through all 5000 one by one? I have numerous duplications and used to be able to click on Edit and Find Duplicates and could clean up all the duplicates easily. Now that option is gone. I still have lots to delete.

I do backup everything using Carbonite.Please don't tell me it is bad, too :-) Also, especially with photo files, I do have other backups of those I am concerned about. Probably not the best in the world, but a log better than many people who I know about.
Again, I really have not seen any problems with MacKeeper. I imagine that if people do not read and follow instructions, they could have problems. For example, it is possible to scan all your files and see them in order of size. If you start deleting things, without knowing what you're deleting, you could cause trouble. Even when the computer scans for so-called junk files, you can look at them and decide for yourself if they are truly junk. I've never seen any that were not.
So, I will look at the complaints anyway to see them. I am open to change, although I hope I do not need to drop Mackeeper as it does things like keeping tracking of applications updates that I need. Please note that I definitely am not a MacKeeper employee or anything close. Just using it and happy with the the results.
I did download the recommend file for finding photo dupes and ran it. There were very few duplicates, in any case, As I said before, the MacKeeper dupe finder was very slow when I ran it over ALL my files. That was a year ago and it did find many non-text dupes.

I am not aware you can extract a single photo or a single app's content from the backup, you can either restore the whole backup to your phone or not restore. If you restore your last backup to your phone then any content that is currently on your phone will be replaced with what was on it at the time that the backup was made - so if you do decide to restore, first copy off any purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, and copy any documents/files that you've udpated on the phone since the backup.

Envy 5530 can't find scanned photos on my windows 7 PC

I have just got my printer and want to scan some very old photos into my PC. The printer screen says 'scan to computer or others'. I chose computer and scanning started but I can't find my photo anywhere. I was not asked where to put the photo or any other info about my computer. I also tried the 'other' option but a message asking me to ensure the software had been installed. I ran the disc that came with the computer to start with. I can print from my PC and ipad. Help please.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
It is very strange that your HP Envy 5530 is scanning but your photos cannot be found anywhere on your computer. Because you have run the Full Feature Software and Driver install for your product is does appear that everything is installed as it should be.
When you're scanning from the Front Panel of the product it will scan automatically to the default 'save to' location. With the HP Scan software the default 'save to location' for JPEGS is your pictures folder. With PDF files the default location is your Documents folder.
Also, when you select 'Scan' from the front panel of the printer and choose Computer it should display your computer name to select as the computer you want to scan to. To find out your computer name you can:
Click on your Start menu
Right click on Computer
Left click on Properties
Near the bottom it will display 'Computer name' - this is the name you should be selecting on the front panel of your product.
I'm going to provide you with a document for step-by-step instructions for scanning from the Front Panel on the printer:

Once the scan has completed successfully it should automatically launch the 'save to' file location on your computer. Please be advised that this may take a few moments to open.

Tap the Photos icon in the Dock at the bottom of of the screen.
If you don't see the photos there, tap Settings > iCloud
Turn Photo Stream off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off. After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on

What version of the OS do you have? What has changed since iPhtoo worked?
What exactly is the problem - you say "it was not responding" - You downloaded a new version (what version)" -you can't find yoru photos" none of which is helpful
look in your applications folder - is there an Iphoto application there? If so get info and report the version
Look in the picures folder - is there an iPhoto library there? If so exactly (including exact error messages) happens if you double click on it?
what else can you tell us that might help us assist you?
