Can you generate 40,000 standard previews?

Is there anyone using LR 2 on Windows with a catalog greater than 40,000
images who can delete all previews and then generate all 40,000 standard
previews in a single step without encountering a performance problem?
Best,
Christopher

I've rendered 70,000 images several times in LR, but have never succeeded in one run. It usually takes two or three runs to complete all of them. On my V64, it doesn't hang, it just goes into 'warp' mode and pretends to render them (according to the progress bar)in a fraction of the normal time. Re-running it shows tens of thousands still left unrendered. But after two or three runs, it gets there. Adobe knows of the problem on my V64 system, but filling in their bug report with details of your system might help them.

Can you upgrade Acrobat 9 Standard to Acrobat XI Standard if you have a "bundle" license?  The Acrobat 9 Standard CD envelope has a serial number that must be used to install the software.

    Hi cloudnavigator,
I am not sure what 'bundled' license means here but since you have the serial number with the CD envelope, it's a retail license you have bought.
You are eligible to purchase an upgrade to acrobat 11 Std./ Pro.

Can you generate a PDF file from LabVIEW?

    Hi there,
I just read this post in passing.
Heres a fairly detailed forum post on the matter - seems to be a few work arounds, but basically no you can't with just the normal labview.

  • How can you generate Multiple random numbers from 1 to 49?

I am very new at programming with the iPhone SDK and I need some help with a project I am working on. What I want to do is set up a window with 6 labels and 1 button. When the user clicks the button, the program will populate 6 randomized numbers each ranging from 1 to 49, and then place each of 6 numbers in a label. But each time the program ends and starts again the numbers cannot be the same, and also when the user clicks the button, no label can have the same number twice, so for example. If label 1 had the number 10, the other 5 labels cannot have that number until the button is clicked again. I know how to set up the interface, I just need the code. I would so greatly appreciate someone's help in this matter. I have been trying to do this for days and I cannot figure it out. Possibly someone who knows tons about Objective C programming can help me!
    Thank-you so very much!!

I see that you're writing a lottery number generator. Perhaps the easiest way to do it is to emulate a real lottery: fill an array (NSMutableArray, probably) with the numbers between 1 and 49, pick one at random, remove that number from the array, and repeat. (You can think of the numbers as being the balls and the array as being the machine that pops them out.)
One simple way to get the random indices needed is to extract six random bytes from Randomization Services using SecRandomCopyBytes, then loop over them, using the modulo operator (%) to select an index within the size of the array.
And no, I'm not going to write your code for you. If I was going to do that, I could package and sell the app myself.

  • Can you generate a Schem Collection from an SQL Query

Is there an Option that allows you to generate and XML Schema Collection in a Select Statement that will be loaded either to a table or an application.
    An example
    SELECT Column1, Column2, Column3
    FROM table
    FOR XML PATH('');
An easy way to generate a template or a start without having to type from scratch?
    Antonio

    Hi Antonio,
    The FOR XML clause
can generate the XML schema, you can reference the optional XMLSCHEMA.
    XMLSCHEMA [ ('TargetNameSpaceURI') ]
Returns inline XSD schema. You can optionally specify a target namespace URI when you specify this directive, which returns the specified namespace in the schema. For more information, see
    Generate an Inline XSD Schema.
If you have any question, feel free to let me know.

  • Can you generate a Table of Contents using bookmarks?

    Hi,
I am a newbie to InDesign and am probably missing the obvious but...
I am creating a document in InDesign and want to generate a Table of Contents. I have just created a de facto ToC with Bookmarks for the exported PDF version of the file, but there seems to be no way to take this information and use it to creat an actual ToC in the ID file itself. My bookmark list contains the information for all the chapter and sub headings along with the page locations, all the data I need to create my ToC, but I can't find a way to do this. I don't understand why I have to use paragraph styles to set this up? It is overly complicated for my needs, added to that it is duplicating my work. If I have to set up paragraph styles for the print version and bookmarks for the PDF version, why can't one set of information be used to generate both version of a Toc?

You don't consider 100 pages a long doc? Ouch. If it needs a TOC, I'd say that's pretty definitive for it being long.
I know users who set up styles for even one-page projects. I figure it's worth setting up a style for any formatting that will repeat more than twice, regardless of document length. It's pretty fast using the format/select/define style method  of formatting text the way you want, then selecting it and choosing "New Style" from the appropriate panel.

  • Can you choose what browser to preview Muse in?

I'd like to have the option to preview in a browser other than Safari in Muse.  I can't seem to find anywhere to select a different browser.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    BC

It is based on your computer settings not Muse settings.
Not sure on the Mac but on the PC you set your default programs in Control Panel under Default Programs, then choose your browser, at that point Muse will open the file based on your choice.
I assume you access the System Preferences on the MAC.... maybe Accessibility or under General... not sure though

  • Can you generate XML schema from XMLDB?

I have not used XMLDB and don´t read the entire doc about the product(sorry for that).
I got the following question, is it possible to generate a XML schema from relational data through XMLDB? Or is this best done via a third party software like XMLSpy or alike?

    3rd Party Software...
We can generate a schema for an object Hierarchy but our considered opinion is that there is no sensible way to generate an XML Schema representation of a purely relational data structure. It requires a tool which allows you to make decisions on how to organize the heirarchy.

  • Can you generate a static caption for video in InDesign?

I set up my caption in the metadata description area in Bridge. I am trying to generate the static caption in InDesign and it goes through the motion but gives me a blank box. It works correctly for my images, but not for my video. Can this be done or does it just not work for videos?

Seems like this is not possible for videos. I tried static and dynamic captions with MOV and FLV. No chance.

  • Can you generate/make a javadoc in netbeans?

I'm using netbeans for a project, and i cant figure out how to make a javadoc and is there any way to generate one. I was using the free version of jbuilder and there wasnt a way to generate one unless i had the higher version. My school provided an executable that will generate a html file that includes all of the classes/methods and headers, just to make an html file that all you had to do is add the descriptions of the methods and headers. My professor had no idea how to make the executable copy everything back into the jbuilder source directory. I'm using os x now, so no more jbuilder, i would like to know how to generate or even just make and edit a javadoc inside netbeans.
    thanks.

Check the Build menu, and the Help information on "Working with Javadoc Documentation"

  • Can you generate separate audio tracks from a Multi-Output Instrument?

Is there a way to use the "export all tracks as audio files" function and have the multi-output assignments generate separate audio tracks? There doesn't appear to be a way to do this.
    Ideas?

I think you'll need to bounce them out, or record them via busses...

  • Can you still email direct from Preview?

Before Mountain Lion, you could email a document directly from Preview, but I cannot find that menu option anymore. Going to Mail and choosing the document as an attachment is a workaround, of course, but takes a lot more time. Any quicker solutions?

You could use Automator to customize a routine if this is something you do regularly. Apple provides some fundamentals about Automator in:

I have this, and it's working for me:
