Can you go back to an earlier iOS on an iPad?

Is it possible to go back to a previous iOS release. I have a 1st gen iPad (32G, wifi). Since I updated the iOS from 4.3 to 5.1.1 it crashes up to 20+ times per day on multiple apps (YouTube, Safari, FaceBook, Huffington Post, Mail, iTunes, Applications, the App store, etc...) with a dignostic error of "Low Memory".
As iOS 5.1.1 is the last release that the 1st gen iPads are compatible with, and iOS was the last stable release, is it possible to go back?
P.S. I have tried the multiple "solutions" offered (close all other programs, clear the cache and cookies, close the iCloud sync, hard reboot, restore from iTunes) with no help. It happened again while I was in the middle of typing this the first time.

Then, will Apple provide an iOS patch to repair the issues which 5.1.1 has caused with the 1st gen iPads.
I have used Macs for over a decade, and one of my greatest responses to friends/family when asked why I don't use a windows based PC has been, "My computer doesn't crash."
In my personal use I have: 2 - G5 Towers, 1 - MacPro Tower, 1 - 17" MacBook Pro, and a 1st gen iPad, (I recently gave my G4 PowerBook to my mother and my 3rd G5 Tower to my niece). Only the iPad crashes due to an operating system upgrade.

I have always (maybe stupid!) updated my iOS version when itunes has proposed it, thinking my old iPhone 3 should work better. It is now clear for me that it is not the case!

Have read something about if you have not save the "protocol" from an earlier version it is impossible!
The question is also justified for all my other iPhones and Pad in my family, should I stop updates iOS versions on them as oblivious thy are becoming useless with the time, or?

My main reason to continue with my 3 gs (I have a iphone 5 also) is to use the GPS function in it. but from the moment I upgrade it to iOS 6.0.1 the GPS is not working well. I can not say if it is becase it is too slove or something is not supporting it. It does not matter if I use it in combination with Google Maps our my TomTom app.
It is loosing the GPS all the time.
The second problem is also that the 3gs is not working anymore in the TomTom car mounth holder.
TomTom are making them so they are only working for iphone 3 (so my other 2 iphone 4 have never worked in it, but it is in that way).
I do not know if it is the TomTom software which is not supported by iOS6 or what...
As I can only use the holder for my 3gs it is awast if the mobil is not working...

without errors.
On ios 6.x (incl. 6.1.2) all important apple media integration are just useless.

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

To do this in iMovie 11. use the SHARE menu. Share your project using the Share menu and choose Export Using QuickTime.
In the Dialog box that comes up, choose Sound to AIFF, or one of the other sound options. This will create a file that you can drag into iTubes.

How can i revert back to an earlier version of Firefox? I have had nothing but slow, slow loading eversince I upgraded to4.01.1. I hate this version of Firefox. I hate the toolbar, it's a horrible colour and I can hardly read it.

Ever since I upgraded my Firefox to 4.01.1, everthing loads much, much slower.......I can go make a coffee while the page loads. Sometimes, it is soooooooooo slow, that it times out and I have to start all over again. Even when I sign on and load google, sometimes it takes forever.

Thank you, Zenos. I tried rolling back to v31.2.0, since I had not encountered problems prior to December. However, that didn't help. So I followed your valuable suggestion to revert to v24.6; that seems to have done the trick.
I would like to mark this problem as "Solved" -- the rollback seems to have worked. However, since my original post was a complex mix of things, before I do that, should I post the individual problem sets that I had noted (address fields/nicknames problems -- numbers 1-3; default font problem -- number 4; attachment reminder problem -- number 5) as separate issues which have not been solved?
Do you know if these various issues are being worked on? I'm glad to have the temporary fix of rolling back to an earlier version, but I'd like to get back on the current update schedule at some point if and when these problems have been corrected.

. As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

How can you enable back the Android native Menu button in AIR 2.7?

I've noticed in AIR 2.7 for Android, that now the bottom icons in Android 3.0 Honeycomb are hidden (replaced by small dots) in AIR 2.7, whereas in AIR 2.6 they were always visible. That's cool. Since the bottom bar can never be hidden in Android 3, at least now those icons are less visible (unless you intentionally touch the bottom bar, then the icons show up for a few seconds).
BUT I also noticed in AIR 2.7 compiled apps, the native "Menu" icon is not visible anymore, even after touching the bottom bar. In AIR 2.6 you could see and press that button (which can be captured from AIR so you can show a custom settings menu or whatever).

There is a work around and a reason for the menu issue. Honeycomb doesn't natively support a menu softkey, it is only to support old apps comiled in phone API levels. If you compile a Honeycomb app in 2.7 or 3.0, it is expected you manage the settings within the larger tablet UI framework. See below link for more info and work around.

The 30-pin connector on the iPhone 4 dock might not have all the connector pins to do video.
I'm 99% sure the Universal Dock does have the pins (and therefor supports video out).

If you change to a new plan and decide you do not like it, are you locked in for a specific period of time or can you switch back at any time?

You can change your rate plan to whatever you would like at any time. Keep in mind that if you are going to a lower plan it can either be started on the day you request the change (you will get pro rating on your minutes that may cause you to get minute overage) or the best time to start the new plan is the beginning of your next billing cycle. If you are increasing your minutes, you can backdate the change to the beginning of your bill cycle, start the change the same day you requested your plan change or future date to the beginning of the next bill cycle.
