Can you help complete the Adobe Acrobat update installation?

The Adobe Acrobat Update Installation has been going on for hours. Can you please complete the installation?

My image is a screenshot saved to my desktop.
When the install fails, this is the message I get:
"The update could not be applied because the Adobe Reader application contents were modified since the original installation.
Please reinstall Adobe Reader and check for updates again.
Error: 1301"
When this happened once before your tech had me work with the root user on my computer.
Today I went to the Error 1301 site and followed the directions: (System Preferences, Account Login, Login Options, and Join for Network Account Server; when the Directory Utility opened, I unlocked the Directory Utility window, chose Enable Root User from the Edit menu, but couldn't accomplish the next step in the directions: "Enter the root password you wish to use in both the Password and Verify fields".

You may have a Safari third party add on installed that was compatible with the previous version of Safari but not 5.1. Try troubleshooting > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

What is the Adobe Acrobat Updater PDF Repair Setup Computer Freeze Solution?

I'm using CS4 Creative Suite 4 Design Premium.
The Adobe Acrobat Updater keeps urging me to upgrade to Acrobat 9.3.3. When I attempt to do so, I get a Repair Setup screen saying, "Acrobat has detected that there are missing components that require repair. Select the optional components you would like to repair and click Continue. Deselect a component to completely remove it. Click Cancel to cancel the component repair process." The Adobe PDF Printer is shown with a checkbox next to it.
At this point, the check box next to the Adobe PDF Printer, the Cancel button, and the Continue button are all not operable. The whole update process becomes frozen. Even a Force Quit will not remove the updater from the screen. The only way to get rid of it is with a restart.
This keeps happening over and over again and is becoming annoying.
How can this problem be resolved?
Please advise.

Look to see if something similar to:
Adobe PDF or Adobe quality PDF when you go to the print menu and click on PDF.

Get rid of Sophos Anti-Virus software you have installed. Use the uninstaller or:
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, Easy Find, instead. Download Easy Find at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

Hi Anwesha, Thanks for your responses.
I did as you first suggested but was unable to find the two files.
One of the main uses for my computer is photography and I have other software on board to do most of my processing.
I decided to un-install Prem Elements although the Movie editing function would be useful.
As a last resort I re-installed it. The process went smoothly, and when the "I have a serial number" was highlighted It looked promising.
The installation was successful both Organiser & Video Editor working OK.
I decided to have another go installing PhotoShop Elements.
The sequence was as follows.
Inserted DVD. "RunAuto Play.exe" . "Program Name Adobe Prem Elements" NB. the "No" option was highlighted.
Opening the PS Elements folder and clicking gave " Please install/uninstall the product using Setup.exe in the root folder.
"InstallShield Wizard Complete" ???? "system not modified" clicking "Troubleshoot" returned me back to the Adobe site & around the loop.
Looking at the contents of the DVD I don't see an installshield wizard for PS Elements.
To summarise I can work with my photographs on my computer & Edit videos.
Having purchased "Classroom in a Book " for the both software under discussion, I'm less than happy.

Goto SE11 or SE16 and give /BIC/A<ODSTechName>00
Actually there are 3 tables Activation Queue (/BI0/A(ODSTechName)40), Active table (/BI0/A(ODSTechName)00) and Change log table (/BI0/B<10 digit number>)
The above will be the same for customized except /BI0/ it will be /BIC/.

Normally when its a generated code it will be like BaseTable-Field Name so the field can be used with /BIC/ or without also since you are giving the base table first.

As I said in BIC, C stands for Customized Object. AALOG refers to the change log table which will be used for delta loads. AA and 00 denotes the Activation table, if its 40 instead of 00 then its activation queue.
4. Also, does logxxx in i_logxxx necessarily have a relation to same in
/BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1
i_logxxx is an internal table where they have taken few fields from ODS1 and here /BIC/AAlogxxx00-Field1 is a field of the internal table i_logxxx.

Can you help with the moire adjustment tool in Camera Raw?

I have a file with a lot of moire on a child's dress and am having problems using camera raw moire adjustment tool.
I opened a jpeg file (not raw) in camera raw. When I use the moire adjustment brush - set to +100 - and click on the eyeglass tool in the window to see the effect - it shows a white overlay.
Clicking the preview button doesn't show up any difference.
I have saved several files as tests but the moire remains unaltered.
Any help appreciated. Or alternatively, suggestions on how to deal with Moire in Photoshop.

If possible deal with the moire issues up front. If you have original re-scan to see if you can reduce effect. If not do a web search for this. There are several tutorials listed such as http://photographylife.com/how-to-remove-moire-in-photoshop

Can you help with install of acrobat xi pro?

I am trying to install on a Surface Pro from a CD ... kept getting error 1006 so I copied the install files to the hard drive and ran setup as admin... now it goes almost to completion and then says the wizard was interrupted and rolls back the install. I have tried it 3 times. What do I need to do to get this installed?
