Can you help me fix my screen? It randomly has a bluish tint, bad resolution and horizontal flashing lines

Hi all,
It's a 15" 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MBP running on Leopard 10.5.8, bought spring 2008.
About a couple of weeks ago, my screen started randomly switching to a strange blue / purple tint along with a bad resolution (can't really read text on screen) and flashing horizontal lines in the background. It started worrying me given I'm working with it all the time and am hoping for this machine to hold on for a few more months until I can buy a new one.
It would happen randomly for a few minutes at a time and then revert back to normal screen.
I found a lot of references to a similar problem in a few threads such as this one:

My screen has gone strange again now and isn't reverting back to normal so far even after I tried restarting it. It was normal for 2 min only ans then back to bluish. I tried all the display fixes indicated in the threads but none of them work and I'm not exactly sure my issue is the same given I can still see the tint and horizontal lines in particular if the screen saver goes on, and the resolution on screenshots I've seen of other people having blue tint screen issues seems to be normal (as in text is legible).
Any ideas on how to fix it? Do you think it might be more of a software or hardware problem..? Would it help if I try upgrading my Mac OS?

Thanks a lot for the reply, I was worried would say that outright. Screen just only reverted back to normal after a couple of hours. As you said probably best to bring it in for diagnosis, I'll try to do that asap though of course I'm nowhere neaar any AASP at the moment.

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here. I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses and phone number from your post.

What sort of visa card is it, debit or credit ? Debit cards don't appear to still be accepted in all countries (and even where they are it seems that not all are accepted).
For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use a debit card) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management
Do you have a different card that you could try, or are iTunes gift cards available in your country (they are not available in all and they are country-specific, they can only be used in their country of issue) ? If gift cards are available then you could potentially use them as your payment method.

When I go into More 4 Catch up TV I do not get the bar that allows you to pause, enlarge, scoll forward when I click onto a programme is this Firefow or More 4? Can you help me fix?

When I go into Channel 4 website to catch up on tv programmes on any of their channels I do not get the task bar to be able to pause, select point in programme to start from etc. Happens in both play and play in pop up. So if I play I can not make large screen.
Don't know where problem lies but others in house who acces same web site do not have this problem and I am the only one that uses firefox.

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

Firefox 3.6.13 will not let me add any extentions. Can you help me fix it?

I installed Firefox 4 beta and alot of my add ons were not compatible so I went back to Firefox 3.6.13. But my add ons were not there either. Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry. New files will be created when required.

Sorry you got the error. What can we do if you don't tell us something more useful. What version of OS X are you using? What version of Office are you trying to use? Did Office work in the past but isn't working now or is this a new installeation? Do you get the samething trying to use other Office applications?
Is there a reason you've posted this in the Servers and Enterprise Software WebObjects forum? Is this happening on an OS X Server system?

Bogus sale - can you help me fix it?

I bought a "refurbished" iMac (500Mhz, 20 GB, 384 SDRAM) that was upgraded to OSX 10.3. There was a bootleg OSX 10.3 disk in the machine when it arrived. When I loaded Office for OS 9, it worked until I tried to restart. Now all I get is folder with flashing question mark, then gray Apple icon page with spinning gear. Tried restarting from OSX 10.3 bootleg disk, tried option key and restarting from hard drive, tried zapping the PRAM. Nothing is getting past the spinning gear. Any suggestions?

Sounds to me like the image is Inline ie part of the text.
click on it > Inspector > Wrap > Floating

Itunes keeps launching all the time. can you help me fix it.

I have windows vista 64 and i never had a problem until i downloaded itunes to updgrade my iphone to the newest updates last week. ever since it just openes up for now reason at all. if I close it out it comes back on and on every user that is logged on.

Hi ACI wonder if you can share any responses on to your question above?I too have never used a script but, I have the same problems as you in regards to building a form. Could you provide the exact wording and punctuation of the message, and try Googling that yourself -- when you google leave out unimportant words and punctuations, group words that are still together as in original message within quotes or with hyphens so that google will look for those words together in that order.

Close out of the mail app, double click the home button and completely close out of the mail app.
Then do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for the phone to boot back up.
then check your mail again.

I have already tried following those steps. I went back and tried to follow them again but they did not work. Some of my songs have synced, some have not. And I am still not seeing the Autofill icon on the bottom of the menu or anywhere else. I fear something has been corrupted here and I need to start afresh.
