Can you hook two printers to the airport extreme

Can I hook up multiple printers to any of the airport devices? the middle one has more than one port - one for printer and one for hard drive. Can I put a printer in each port?

Hi - you can connect mutiple USB printers via a USB hub - you can also connect multiple printers to the ethernet ports on an Extreme or Time Capsule - you can do the same with an Express with an ethernet switch - you can also do it wirelessly

Can you alter the NAT settings on the airport extreme by any chance and if possible, how do you do this please.

Really confused here so I will start at the begining.
Right now I can access xbox live but only talk to certain friends and others cant hear me. This has been getting worse over the weekend. I can send messages no problem but I cant join a freinds game or chat but can send them messages.
Everything worked like a charm until I made some changes that are listed below
Had the airport extreme connected via adsl then my g5 mac picks the signal wireless. The xbox has a wireless adaptor so that also worked like charm unitl my changes below.
1, I upgarded to Tiger 2 weeks ago from panther
2, Sent the old ethernet cable from the old xbox 1 that was still atached to the airport extreme into a joytech multi component switcher that has 6 ethernet ports linked to each component channel. We have 2 xbox 360's and a ps3 and a wii for the kids so not enough components out in the tv.
3, Removed the ethernet cable out of the 360 and put the wireless adaptor back on, (after discovering the problem) re set the xbox to make it see the wireless bridge and now this..
Confused, not as much as me
Anyone please help as I have no idea what to do as I can talk to some people and not others.
I ran a test on the 360 and it stated my nat SETTINGS ARE MODERATE, they should be less, is there a way of altering the NAT settings on a g5 mac or airport extreme??

Can i place some device on the airport extreme case ?

as i can't find anything on this in the manual, i was wondering if i can place some device (cablemodem) on the airport extreme case; the airport extreme case is getting pretty hot so is it safe or does it need free air for ventilation ?

I'd think you may not want to add fire to fire. Keep the router and modem running as cool as possible. You could place it on the Extreme if you configured some sort of smallish "platform" which would not smother the Apple into being too hot.

When playing videos, connects me to the airplay option of IPad or AirPort. Can I hook up speakers to my Airport extreme to get a sharable/higher quality sound.

Is there some kind of USB hook up for speakers that can run off the airport extreme? This will allow me to watch movies on my iPad with better sound.

As the Jolly Giant points out, audio is not supported on the AirPort Extreme. There is no audio jack and the USB port will only support a compatible printer or hard drive. USB speakers are not supported.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL46W905 TV but I can't get it to connect the Airport Extreme router

My Sony Bravia KDL46W905 TV won't connect to my Airport Extreme router and the internet. It recognises and picks up my home wireless network though and I'm inputting the correct password but still won't connect. The router is set to WPA2 Personal.
Anyone any ideas?

While most devices should connect using WPA2 Personal, please temporarily test using no security to see if the Sony TV will connect that way.
If it will, then try the more compatible setting of WPA/WPA2 Personal on the AirPort Extreme and test that way.
However, if the TV will not connect using no wireless security.....then it is a no brainer to conclude that the TV will never connect with security enabled....so more troublehooting is going to be required.
In that case, make sure that the name of your wireless network......
Does not exceed 20 characters, fewer would be better
Does not contain any special characters like an apostrophe, asterisk, dollar sign, etc
Does not have any blank spaces
For example, if the current name of your wireless network is something like.....
rpepler's wireless network
Change that to read something like.....
rpeplerwireless
Same rules for the wireless network password

I have two iPhones, a 5 which I currently use and an old 4 which I use as a second phone as I am overseas. I have connected both to iTunes. Does this cause any problems have two phones on the one iTune account, as far as updates, etc goes?

It won't cause any problem. Moreover, you will be able to share the purchases between both phones and have the same information by using iCloud, so you don't lose anything

Has anyone been successful in syncing two iPhones to the same iTunes account. I am the main user of our Mac and my wife just uses it for email and internet browsing. Basically she uses my user account and therefore we share one contacts list, one calendar, one iTunes, and both use the same Mac Mail with our own email addresses. Both also want to use MobileMe.

Yes.. It is a very difficult process.. First, log into 1 computer with your account and Authorize that computer to use the iPhone. then Sync your phone.. Log out and go to the second computer.. login and Authorize then sync your phone.

Can you connect a USB drive to Airport Extreme or an Airport base for TM

Would like to backup MacBooks in 2 different scenarios with Time Machine. One is a USB external drive attached to Airport Extreme and the other is doing the same with an Airport base. Will both work? Also, I have been partitioning the direct USB attached hard drives so that I have a Time Machine partion and a copy of the internal hard drive. This allows my kids to boot from the external drive and still work in case the internal drive has failed or becomes corrupted. So far we have experienced 3 internal drive failures, one during finals and this has saved them. Can you boot from an external drive copy of the internal drive if it is connected to either an Airport Extreme or Airport base?

I am confused as on another site I saw that the Time Machine backup to Airport Extreme was working than broken by an update in 2008, then fixed again by another update in Oct. 2008. So is it officially supported or not. I cannot say that I am impressed with Apple's documentation and updates to what is supported and what is not.
Kappy, I do not see the concern with partitioning a drive and then taking backups to one partition and having a Restore created copy of the hard drive in another. The drive is partitioned and that should keep one partition from overlaying the other. The windows world had used partioning successfully for many years. Apple does have a slick ability to boot from a copy of the OS which is on an external drive. It has saved my kids multiple times when something has gotten hosed up on the internal drive, including a Mac mini with a drive failure during dinal exams and two drive failures on a Macbook. It lets the kids access the internet and get theri work done albiet with a static copy of the OS taken some time in the past. My son was even able to copy to the external drive all of his documents, music and photos off the internal drive that would not boot. Of course he had not learned the value of Time Machine at that point.

Just a small detail like the printer must be AirPrint compatible.

I am testing AccAD and have come across a situation where we have two HTTP SAP systems, one portal and one SRM, that have the same destination host, ie http://testapp. But a end user will access each system via the URL's http://testapp:9010 and http://testapp:9015.
I can get AccAD to connect to both different apps by changing the DNS but inside one of the apps it will call the other using http://testapp:9010. so unless I change the internal config one app can not call the other.
So what I would like AccAD to do is call app1 via http://testapp:9015 and the other via http://testapp:9010 where defined in AccAD the hostname testapp is the same IP address.
Any clues and sorry if the problem explaination is confusing?

Hi Brian,
I checked your question with the development team, and here's the response:
If you define 2 service types under the same server then you will have delivered services on the same IP address.
The only thing that you need to consider is that the 2 service types will have the different ports.
Define one service type with port 9010 and another one with 9015.
After this step, as usual, please add both service types to the server and define remote offices.
On the CFE you can then do: netstat -ntl
You will see the same IP address listening to 2 different ports.

This might sound dumb but I honestly have no idea - I want to purchase a second iPod but don't know if I can run them both from the same iTunes library? The new one I want is a shuffle so a much small capacity then my other iPod. Help.

I just purchased a new iPod because my older one has been having trouble. When I logged onto iTunes it would recognize my new iPod because it said another user was logged on. Yes you can. My wife and I each have iPods and use the same iTunes store account. Only plug one iPod in at any given time. Also, turn off fast user switching if you choose to set up another user account.
