Can you identify which of your iOS Apps are free?

I have a few hundred apps now in my iTunes library, and would like to identify which ones are free vs which ones cost money.
Both my iPhone and my wife's are currently tied to the same iTunes account.  I want to create a new acount for her, but don't want her to lose all the purchased apps she uses.
For music/movies/tv shows, I know I can authorize play on her new machine, but I don't believe you can for the apps...or at least she won't be able to download updates for them without logging out and logging into the old account.
Any ideas?
thanks

  • Can you identify which MS Update package contains build 34238

We discovered that a recent update had broken some code and we're trying to pin down which update was the culprit.   We have a fix, so that isn't the issue.   The issue is that the software is being used by clients and we would like to warn them not
to apply the Microsoft Update until after they have applied our fix.
What I know is that Build 34209 runs the code with no errors, however machines with build 34238 (.net 4.0.30319.34238) has the issue.    So, if anyone can let us know which update this build is found int, we can warn our customers.
    Thanks
    Stuart Hunt

    Hi Stuart Hunt,
I do not have any documentation off hand to identify which update package contains MSBuild 34238, however I would like to know is there any relationship with MSBuild? MSBuild is only used to compile applications base on the configurations, will MSBuild version
    effect compile result?
Besides if you think the .net 4.0.30319.34283 is the issue, you could include some previous version of dll in your project package and use these dll instead of using system dlls.
Some of my research on the Internet pointed to KB3004394 (Not that sure), I would suggest you to have a check.  But not sure, you may need to get a confirmation from:

  • Multiple triggring events - How can you identify which one started the wf?

    Hi all,
I would like to know if there is a way of identifying which triggering event started the wf.
The situation is like this: i have a workflow that can be started by one of 6 triggering events (6 different situations for vendor master data - creation needed, extension needed, change needed and so on). I have to do different steps inside the workflow function of which event actually triggered the wf.
Is there a container element that gets some sort of identification for the event that actually triggered the wf?
I found a container element that holds the name of the event but it's a multiline container element (so i guess it holds all the event names) and i can't use it in a multiple condition.
    Thank you
    Cristina

for those events, you can add want you want as abap dictionary
it doesn't matter, just look in SE11, where you can find any kind of data element of type char1 and use that one.
Those events, are those standard events or events that you trigger yourself with the function SWE_EVENT_CREATE?

  • Can you select which of your Sites you want iWeb to publish?

    Dudes,
I've just moved my webhosting over from a commercial company to MobileMe, using my own domain name - so now everything is done through iWeb 08.
All going fine except one problem:
In iWeb, I have two "Sites" - my website proper, and another called "Stuff" which I use to test out ideas, store text and photos that aren't ready to go live yet, experiment on etc.
However, when I hit "Publish", iWeb publishes BOTH sites. This never used to be a problem when I'd Publish To Folder for FTP-ing, because I would only ever upload the actual website (naturally). However, now I'm publishing direct to MobileMe, it sends BOTH up to the cloud! My website is obviously hosted on my domain name, and the other on the long MobileMe name (me.com/etc etc).
My question is - is there any way to select which Sites to Publish, or will iWeb automatically just publish them all?
Ideally I'd like to deselect "Stuff" and only Publish my website.
Otherwise, I can see no other option than to delete "Stuff".
I'm sure there must be a way, otherwise, how else could you work on more than one website??
Thanks in advance for any help.

That's a problem with iWeb 08. If you want to control each site separately you can separate the two sties into two separate domain files. I use iWebSites to manage over 40 individual sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.
NOTE: You may find that the MMe servers are much slower than commercial servers. That's been a major bone of contention with many of the users, particularly those with commercial sites. Also MMe has no direct support, i.e. ear to ear support. It's the general consensus that for commercial sites it's best to use a commercial hosting service that offers unix hosting. You can do a search in this forum and get more options on that. Actually, it's against the Terms of User for MobileMe to host a commercial server but I've not heard of that being enforced.

  • How do you identify which device downloaded an app?

My family has two iPods, one iPhone, and an iPad.  I just looked at my recent purchases and found a $20 purchase for Island Empire.  First, I have no idea why a game costs that much, but I need to know which device was used to download the app.

    Strange...  Two options.
    1. Connect each iDevice you have to iTunes. Right-click on its name under the Devices listing in the left side bar, Select "Transfer Purchases from xxxx."
    2. In iTunes, sign in to the iTunes Store (once each with every Apple ID used); Select Prchased from the Quick Link section in the right-hand side bar; you can review all purchases by going thru each tab.

  • Can you transfer notes from your note app on your iphone over to the notes app on your ipad?

I am trying to transfer notes that I have taken in my "Notes" app on my iphone 3GS over to the notes app on my ipad4.  Is this even possible?  I have been emailing them one by one but it is taking forever. THX!

Do you have an iCloud account (the same account) on both?  If so, enable using iCloud for docs and notes in the iCloud account settings.  That will put the source copy of all notes from all connected devices on iCloud.  When you change the local cached copy of a note on one device, it will sync to and update the source file on iCloud.  Then, when you next access that note on another device, it will pull the updated version from iCloud.
Of course, to use iCloud this way, the devices need a data connection when using notes - cellular or wifi does not matter.

  • Can you select which Airport your to which Mac should associate?

AEBS (AP mode, creating 2.4GHz n only)
    / (Wireless 2.4Ghz n)
AX (Extending SSID on AEBS above)
The AEBS is in the basement office and AX is on the first floor.  When I take the MBP outside it stays associated with the AEBS with a really weak signal instead of associating with the AX that is much closer and in line of sight.  If the signal from the AEBS is weak enough the MBP will associate with the AX and the connection is great.
Is there a way to manually force the MBP to associate with the AX without defining mac address filters?

Although, by theory, the wireless client should switch to the stronger signal, unfortunately, this doesn't always work out as planned when using an extended network. I found better results doing this when configuring for a roaming network. However, that would require an Ethernet connection between both base stations to make this happen.

  • IOS apps are too cheap. Apple needs to help make app dev more sustainable

First let me say that I am a user, not a dev (at least not an app dev).
    According to
    http://techcrunch.com/2013/07/18/paid-apps-on-the-decline-90-of-ios-apps-are-fre e-up-from-80-84-during-2010-2012-says-flurry/
90% of apps on app store are free. Avg price for iPad app is 50c, for iPhone app is 19c. The situation is even worse for android. Something ridiculous like 6c.
It's a wonder anyone is still in business. This doesn't seem sustainable, unless you have a hit or you target a professional/enthusiast niche, how do you make money.  There can't be that much money in ads.
We have a race to the bottom and users have gotten used to the idea that everything should be free or nearly free.
I am guilty of this myself. I'll pick the free app with ads  if given a choice, and may upgrade if the ads get too annoying and i use the app often.
I'll usually pay one or two dollars without thinking much. Four or  five  dollars and i have to think a bit. above five I have to think hard.
There are a couple of things Apple can do to improve the situation for everyone.
    1) create a built in trial system.  Have a Try it button. After the user has used ithe app X amt of time iOS will ask if they want to buy. Yes, their account is charged, no the app is deleted. The app dev can specify whether they want to allow the Try button and the amt of time they think would allow the avg user to adequately try the app.
When I first got my iPad, I downloaded a bunch of PDF readers; some free, some cost a few bucks.  I ended up buying about $20 worth of apps before getting the one I wanted.
A free trial system will hopefully encourage people to pay  prices they may otherwise balk at. If you have a good app, you have a better a chance at making a sale if your users can test it out first. The system is also upfront and honest. You don't download something for "free" and find it crippled IR nonfunctional until you make an IAP.
Of course once a trial system is in place, there'll be tremendous pressure on all devs to use it for all apps. This may not be a good thing.
    2) upgrade pricing.
This is desperately needed.  I bought filebrowser way back when for 99c and since then it's been updated tremendously, but I haven't paid any more for it. Seems a bit unfair.
Devs are in the uncomfortable position of either giving a way a lot of effort for free if they stay with free updates, or alienate people who recently bought their app by creating a new version.
In addition, retain at least one major old version so people who are satisfied can stay with it, or downgrade if the new version breaks something or changes something they don't like.
All this adds complexity to the system. But hey, that's what good design skills are for, right?  Any average company can make simple stuff simple.

Don't tell us (we're users just like you).
    Tell Apple at:  http://www.apple.com/feedback
But I personally think your ideas won't get anywhere.
The current system is working fine.
Your ideas add too much complexity.
Thousands of developers are making billions of dollars every year.
    There is no problem.

  • Can you see which apps are open and/or running like you can on an android phone by going to settings applications running services?

can you see which apps are open and/or running (like you can on an android phone by going to settings>applications>running services)?

    Hi wjosten,
thank you for the help.  I should have said I had a iphone 3.  A friend has the same phone and she showed me how she can see what web pages are open when she double taps the home button.  Mine is set to bring up favourites when I double tap (chosen from settings>general>home button).. BUT my choices are only HOME; SEARCH; PHONE FAVORITES; CAMERA or IPOD.  I changed my choice to HOME but that just defeats the purpose as when I am at the home page and double tap nothing happens.  Am I making sense?

  • Hello , I want to ask some question about ipads \  How powerful is the iPad?  How useful is it for reading books, newspaper or magazines or for surfing the web? Can you identify any shortcomings of the device?   please help me :(

    Hello ,
I want to ask some question about ipads \
    How powerful is the iPad?
How useful is it for reading books, newspaper or magazines or for surfing the web?
Can you identify any shortcomings of the device?
    please help me

it's less powerful than your average computer. THink of it like a netbook but with a better processor.
It'll do fine for surfing (although if you browse a lot of flash based sites you will need to get a third party browser since safari doesn't accommodate it)
You may do OK on reading books, papers or magazines, especially if they have apps, but the ipad's screen is backlit, so it doesn't work well outdoors and you may need to fiddle with the brightness so that you don't get eye strain (it's just like doing too much reading from a computer screen)
I would say the biggest short comings are data transfer. Apple's preferred work flow is that everything is done via iTunes or the internet....well people dont' always have 100% reliable always on internet access so you can find yourself in a situation where you can't get things on/off the iPad.
By and large, it's a good device for day to day stuff, but is not a computer replacement.

  • What kind of programming background do you need to start making iOS apps?

I have zero knowledge of programming. I have done programming about 7 years ago and it was extremely basic stuff and mostly to do with C. I have learnt BASIC language (wonder if its even worth mentioning) in school!! But, I really want to program. Even if it takes a long time. How do I get started??

Your question "What kind of programming background do you need to start making iOS apps?" does not have a single answer. Thanks to the internet, nowadays its possible to start from zero. You can find an answer for even the most basic question on the internet. It just a question of time and effort. If you have
    the time
    no pressing deadline and a
    high frustration tolerance
just go ahead and do it.

  • Is it possible I can create an iOS app for free???

Is it possible I can create an iOS app for free??? I don't care what site, I just wanna know and how to add the new app to the App Store.....

You need to pay a yearly fee of $99 dollars (US) in order to be able to test the apps on your ipod and post to the app store. Other than that creating apps are "free".

  • TS2972 how can i identify which computers are authorized for i tunes

How can I identify which computers are authorized for use with I tunes?

    Hi there,
You can't see a list of your authorised computers, but you can see how many are authorised and deauthorise them individually or together.
I've found you a relevent support article which explains all of this:
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization
    Hope this helps,
