I was looking through the list of linked search engines in your list of 100. Could you include http://www.norele.com in the list next time you compile?

Then go to any site which has a search field, place the cursor inside it and then right click and choose "Add To Search Bar".
You could also consider adding this one too: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/context-search/
This will allow you to highlight a word or phrase on a web page, right click it and then use your search engines to look for it.

I use Firefox 6.0.1 on Windows 7.
I installed '''Free Desktop Clock 2.37''' from Drive Software, and then Firefox was hi-jacked, though I carefully chose the custom installaion.
Edit: Free Desktop Clock itself does not hi-jack Firefox. It's another program (name forgotten) bundled with Free Desktop Clock that did it, adding a toolbar, changing the homepage, changing the default search engine, etc. Actually, those forced alterations can be changed back easily, such as a resetting of the "keyword.url" pref. So, "hi-jack" may be a description that's too strong.
Anyway, I have managed to clean it up -- unsolicited toolbar, forced homepage, forced default search engine, etc.
But there is still one problem.
In the dialogue window of '''Manage Search Engine List''', which appears when you click the drop arrow on the left of the Search Bar and then click Manage Search Engines, the '''Restore Defaults''' button is disabled (grayed out).
How can that button be re-enabled?

Is Free Desktop Clock still listed? If not this may be because the listed search engines are the defaults, so there may be nothing to restore. If you manually added other search engines, you may have to reinstall those separately. I've upgraded to Firefox 8.0. I no longer have ANY search engines listed for my search bar.

When I click on the drop down in the search bar, all that's there is "Manage Search Engines" - the Yahoo, Google, etc icons are NOT there. When I select "Mange Search Engines" and bring up the "Search Engines List", NOTHING is listed. There are absolutely no search engines installed - no Yahoo, Google, etc, etc. How do I get them back/installed?

I resolved my issue. Renamed search.sqlite and reinstalled Firefox 9.0.1
All default search engines are now available.

hi sandy,
i don't think so. navigational attributes are not available. you need to understand that in case of an ODS object the export data source is generated out of the change log table, so if any field missing in the change log table it will not be part of the export data source.
In case of cubes the characteristics and key figures reflects in the export data source.
but why do you need navigational attributes in export data source ? it conflicts the nature of nav attributes as you will be storing the history statically with reference to the data when it was loaded. if you really want the same nav attributes in your subsequent data targets then include the characteristic which has the desired nav attributes in your target cube and map it from the export data source of the source info-provider. Switch on the nav attributes in the target info-providers.

No Search engines listed in the Manage Search Engine drop down

After the most recent update 15.0.1 I have NO SEARCH ENGINES on my computer None listed in the drop down menu under "manage search engines" Everything is greyed out so I can't add anything

Do you still see the default search engines in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)?
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected whenever you uninstall Firefox.

I've written a program that aids finding information that might be relivent to your intrests in JAVA. It's a client side application that isn't like any search apps I've seen since all they do is query search engine.
My app called S.I.R.A (Spidering Information Retrieval Agent) learns what you are interested in and while you browse the internet using IE or Netscape it will make suggestion of webpages that might be of interest. These suggestions can easily be ignored if you are busy reading a webpage or can be clicked on to go to that page.
The program is still at beta stage, but I would really appriciate feedback on how effective and useful you find it. Download it from :- www.padownes.fsnet.co.uk
I believe it works well along side with search engines ( but then again I would say that I wrote it).
The program is free to download and is for educational purposes.

Thanks for testing it. I didn't set any settings myself. I just used the default quicktime pro's export movie to ipod setting, so I have no idea about all the multi-pass vbr stuff. Anyway, thank you again for testing it for me.
If you used the QT Pro Export or iMovie Share Expert "Movie to iPod (320x240)" no setting option, then that is a high-quality, multi-pass preset. (There are two other possible QT Pro/FCX/FCP Export or iMovie Share options than can possibly be used with "manual" settings.) In any case, if this was the result of a 2-pass conversion, would recommend you not use whatever filter was applied to this test. For such a small screen it tends to generate artifacts that resemble the output of a file converted from a really poor quality source. Assume the filter looks much better in a larger screen format.

Can you change the look of the list in Itunes ?

I am pretty new to Itunes and was wondering if you can change the way Itunes lists the songs etc you have in the library.
For instance, if you have say 100 artists each with a few albums each with about 10 songs in each, your list will be rather long.
So can you, as is done in Windows Explorer, expand and contract the list as you want it, with the albums and album track not displayed (when the + is shown in Win Explorer) ?
So if you have the list sorted in Artists, you only have 100 lines in the list, one per artist. And if you click or choose an artist, the list is expanded to show that artists albums. Then if you choose one of the albums, then it is expanded further to show the tracks on that album.
Does that make sense ? I think its called an heirarchical (spelling) list ?
I just thought It would make it a little easier to manage the list with so many songs and videos appearing at once.
Although I saw this posted today too, I am also looking for help to put my audiobooks into the right category on my Ipod.
I have copied some of my audiobooks using Itunes and they have been stored simply as music. On my Ipod there are no audiobooks showing and when I play shuffle there are too many instances of my audiobooks creeping in !
Any help on the above 2 problems woul dbe most appreciated.

I just spoke to Apple Support (UK) who said that only audiobooks purchaced at Istore or Audible.com (I think) will be put into the Audiobooks folder in Itunes.
However, I asked what format would be required to get into the audiobooks folder and was told that if you convert these AAC files to M4U, that should do the trick.
Itunes, of course, cannot do this so I was told to searcht he net for some conversion tool, which I am about to do, unless anyone already knows of one that I can use ?

I also asked about Podcasts because I downloaded one from Radio 1 on the BBC website and it was treated in the same way as a normal song and not treatred like a Podcast. When I asked Apple Support about this they said that it was in the correct format (MPEG audio file) and so should be treated as a Podcast.
So, does anyone have any ideas why my downloaded Podcast is treated like a normal song, and if so, how do I fix this ?

Can you reorder items in the reading list?

Simple question
Can you reorder items that are saved in your Safari Reading list? For example, move some items to the top or rearrange them so the ones on the same topic or from the same website are next to each other? I would think this would be something simple to do but I cant seem to do it. I just see how you can show the ones youve read (which usually just means youve clicked on them) but had no luck when trying to drag to rearrange them

Yes you can with a little forethought. Select from the Reading List the page you want at the top. You will now see this as the usual Safari view. Use the normal procedure for adding a new page to the Reading List. The desired page will now be at the top. Try this for one item. You can then organise on paper the order you want remembering that the most recent action will appear at the top. Longwinded but it works.
