With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. Can you turn off the location text that appears on the bottom left for links in Firefox 4?

The text box that appears when you mouse over a link and it shows the location in the lower left. Can you turn that off? I find it annoying.

it would even be nice if there were options to change the status text such as length of time of popup, on/off, similar to how an information bar is customized. what makes it so annoying is that is pops up and never goes away and if you hover over it then it goes to the other side of the browser

I need to install a new hard disk - not sure how to install

I travelled for a month, and didn't turn off my imac, which I thought I did. My country is hot at this time of the year.
When I got back home, I found that the desktop was crashed, so I did a restart and the computer never booted. I tried again and again.
I performed qa recovery boot, and using the utility I tried to do a disk repair. It initially found problems and started working on them. However, it always crashed in the process after many hours. After several repititions and a lot of research, I booted my iMac with a ubuntu live CD and the diagnoses it performed told me that:-
1- The hard disk will fail, and this is inevitable, something about S.M.A.R.T. (?).
2- There were HDD fan cooling thermal problem, and some read/write problems, and something third.
At this point, I recovered the 'User' folder that includes the desktop, my documents, pictures, etc, and seems ok to run on other O/s's.
I am willing to also retrieve the applications folder if possible, with all the programs.
I feel I need to replace my 1 TB hdd with a new one, but if I did, I have no clue how to install it. I do not have the installation CD's. I bought it installed, and then upgraded to snow leapord using iTunes.
If I found a shop to do the replacement of the HDD' how would I install Snow Leapord again? Is there any other advise?

You both need to using AIM valid name or both using Jabber based IDs like FaceBook or GoogleTalk (oor Yahoo if you must)
Apple's @mac.com and @me.com are Valid AIM names as well as regular AIM names.
Jabber IDs are gained from non centralised servers and there are thousands of Public and private servers issuing IDs
Google Mail with "Talk" enabled on your Accounts settings or a FaceBook account with "Chat" enabled are valid Jabber IDs
Jabber IDs are rarely emails (Google is an exception).
However they follow the email format which means the AIM Buddy list will "accept" them format wise
(the same is true to some extent the other way round)

Hi Bill, your version of Windows depends on the age of your PC. If it's fairly recent, you may have Windows 7, and if it's a few years old, you may have Windows Vista. Windows XP was released in 2002, but it is still common on business machines. Based on the information in your post, you have Windows 7.
The features you are asking about are available in Firefox's menus. When you are running Firefox, you can access the Options dialog either of these ways:
orange Firefox button > Options
classic Tools menu > Options
Please refer to the instructions you have for the rest of the story.

Adobe always says it can't open these files.
i have already downloaded the "camera raw.8bi" but do not know how to use it.
i tried to give adobe a new plugins-folder but it seems not using it.

The installation instructions are on the page from which you downloaded it... They do change occasionally, so it's a good idea to pay attention to them.

Well, after much browsing these forums- taking several hours of readign and trial and error- I came across one cryptic comment.
The comment: that Adobe Updaters can install an update incompletely so that subsequent updates cannot be installed.
The cure suggested was a total uninstall and then re install
I did that. Used the uninstaller. Then rebooted my Mac. Then re installed from scratch, reentering serial number. THEN the update ran and installed.
Hurray
So why does Adobe say that with Acrobat X there is no need to uninstall?That wrong advice cost me some good hours of sleep tonight!

Adding folders to POP accounts is a limitation of them being POP accounts.

We tell people DO NOT BACKUP the virtual disk.. as it will make your TM backups blow out to crazy sizes.. especially if you have been doing this over wireless. Most people exclude the virtual disk.
If you have been backing it up, try restoring it. I don't know whether it will restore properly though.

executing...Of course it will execute. But the real question is, why is it there anyway? When you call sendRedirect(), you tell the client to create a new request for some other servlet or JSP. What's the point of continuing to process the current request?
Or to put it another way, why do you have code in a place where you (mistakenly) don't expect it to run?
