Can you leave magic mouse on?

can you leave magic mouse on?  Will it automaticly go to sleep and not drain the battery?
Thanks

Yes, I leave mine on all the time.  The mouse automatically "goes to sleep" when not in use.

  • How can I prevent Magic Mouse from scrolling horizontally when I don't want it to?

I recently purchased a Magic Mouse to go with OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. It's a great mouse but it causes 2 problems:
If I leave it on "Scroll with interia" in System Preferences/Mouse, it scrolls horizontally when I don't want it to.  Since I mostly work in Word documents, I often lose my place in the document this way. On the other hand, checking "Scroll without inertia" makes vertical scrolling, which I do all the time, a lot harder.
The mouse seems to cause what I think of as "fractures" in Word documents--words and parts of sentences will disappear or get crunched together , then reappear when I select the place where they vanished.  They also reappear if I scroll vertically to get the problem area off the screen and then return to it. This wastes a lot of time at best; at worst, I'm afraid I'll lose work.  The problem occurred once in a while with a Logitech bluetooth mouse I was using, but not as bad and not all the time.
I love the mouse's ergonomics and would like to keep it, but if I can't solve this problem, I'll have to return it.  Would be very, very grateful for any tips!  Thanks.

Always nervous about recommending sites I have no personal experience of.  On the plus side it doesn't relate to any of the bad sites I am familiar with and it appears to be the developer's site ... but there is no contact point for you to ask questions.  You said in your initial post it was to go with Snow Leopard but this version says it is meant for 10.7 and above.   Did you notice that?   I also notice several other references to Word and mouse and one person found the solution lay in the updating of word 2011 to its highest level.   I can offer no more.

  • How Can I install Magic Mouse on my IPad 3?

    Hi there,

Other than a stylus, this is the only "mouse" that will work with the iPad.

  • Can't Change Magic Mouse Settings

I just got my new Magic Mouse in the mail today. I paired it with my MacBook with no problem. The thing is, when I go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Bluetooth, my mouse isn't listed. If I pair my Mighty Mouse, it is. But that Magic Mouse is not.
I really want to set up scrolling and gestures, but right now I can only click! Am I looking in the wrong place? Did I miss a step?

I agree with the tracking speed. I had to drag slider for speed to max in mouse configuration.
Whenever I plan to play Windows games that utilize mouse's wheel, I have to switch mouse to one with wheel.. I have to reset the slider back to default every time I switch. Otherwise, Mr Flash likes that setting!
@Apple: Can you provide update with official tweak so the default tracking speed is how it should be? Much appreciated!

  • Can you use a mouse with an ipad air?

We recently purchased an iPad Air.  With my wife's work, sometimes she has to access a web site from home that uses adobe flash.  we discovered a browser that allows her to access that site.  Now because of the complexity of the site, she would need a keyboard and preferably a mouse.  I know that you can sync a keyboard to the iPad using bluetooth.  My question is, can you also sync a wireless mouse to the iPad?  If you can sync both the keyboard and mouse, it would greatly reduce our need for a PC laptop.  Any suggestions welcome.

You cannot use a mouse as it defeats the point of a MacBook. You can although have a keyboard for the iPad which allows word processing and simple things like typing emails. Hope this helps

  • Imac can't find magic mouse

I got my parents a magic mouse for xmas, but their imac cannot find it. The computer has a 'mighty' mouse already. It's running 10.5.8, and I downloaded and installed the wireless mouse update 1.0. It is not finding it. This is a pretty recent imac, less than a year old. How can I get the imac to see the mouse? The mouse is turned on and blinking green. The old mouse shows up in the bluetooth preferences, but not the new one.
    Thanks
    Bob

You will need to add it as a new BT device.

  • Can use the magic mouse on the iPhone?

I wanted know whether are possible use Magic Mouse on iPhone...
    Thank's.

I believe there is at least one app in the app store that will
allow this. You may wish to search using 'mouse' for a
start. I do not know if the app will allow you to use iphone as
    mouse for non-Mac computers.
A quick search just turned up Mouse Pro and Mobile Mouse (lite
& Pro versions). See if they meet your needs. I did not pursue far enough
to see if there is a limit on equipment the apps work with.

  • Can you leave your iPhone 4 S on charge continually?

We just got the iPhone S.  We were told it would be better service than the mi/fi for our area (and it does). We were told to use it as a hot spot. The only thing this drains the battery so quickly. We now on a plan and can not go back. I really don't want to anyway. I love my apples. However, I do not want to wreck my battery by leaving plugged in all the time. We have a huge family and there is always some want to be on the net. Can any one tell me the best advice for not wrecking my iPhone ' s battery?  Thanks for reading this and any possible help.

I'm just repeating what I have leaned
You seem to not really know what you have learned. Contradictory statements.
Heat is definately detrimental to lipo batteries.  And these phones can get surprizingly hot.
Yet you suggest always plug them in for long charge instead of small charges where they will not have high, sustained detrimental heat.

  • Buddy, can you spare a mouse for a Mac Plus?

Well, I've tried to make the topic as descriptive as possible. I've got a Mac Plus and need to get an old document from its innards, but I have lost the mouse. Does anyone know where I can find one for sale in the UK, so that I can get my hands on it as soon as possible? Or maybe maybe maybe someone can lend me one for a day?
Thanks very much for your advice and assistance.

    Jim-
there is a reference to the HD20 on that site, here:
    http://www.vintagemacworld.com/hd20.html
    but alas, no pictures.
Based on the torturous Startup sequence described in that article, I don't think George has an HD20.
    >"It is my understanding that such hard drives are configured to work with a Mac Plus alone; their configuration is such that their contents couldn't be accessed by a more recent Mac."The Mac Plus required that you use a special format that put the next-numbered sector staggered every third sector around the disk. If you did not, the Plus was so slow it would miss the next-numbered sector if they were sequentially numbered, and still miss if they were every-other. The drive would have to endure an entire revolution of the disk to read the next sector.
If you missed the data at 3600 RPM = 60 spins/sec, or .016+ seconds, or 16.7 milliseconds additional per sector.
But the point is that that format is compatible and can be read just fine by SCSI-equipped Macs.

  • Can't enter Magic Mouse serial number to check warranty?

    Hello community,
I've got a wireless keyboard and mouse and wanted to check the exact warranty date's end. However, the field doesn't accept the complete serial number, and detects the shortened number as invalid (which is expected).
Any idea why it fails to verify it?

Apple does not maintain a database of peripheral devices. The warranty is for one year. If you have a problem, contact Apple.
