Can you lock the background image orientation?

Hello all
Is there a way to lock the image orientation? When I turn the iPad, I want the apps to rotate, but I want the background image to stay portrait.
If not, is there someplace i can suggest the feature?
Thanks!

No. It will orient along with your view. You can post feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/

  • Can you change the background image in IP Communicator

    Can you load an image file from you local workstation as the background in IP communicator?

    The first image worked great, but...
    I made and applied all the correct directories, images, and files needed for the custom background.
    I tested it on IP communicator and it worked great, with the image showing up as selection 2.
    Then I added another image selection; meaning I added the formatted image files and edited .xml file.
    Restarted IP Communicator and it still only shows the 1st custom image I created.
    I have checked and rechecked the .xml file along with the formatting of the images and still only 1 custom image is there.
    Ideas -
    Maybe there is a ?reload? command that I need to use on the phone itself?
    Is there any difference if the image is loaded on a Subscriber or Publisher
    - Currently I have it loaded on a subscrber that I also have confirmed that is set as the TFTP server for the IP Communicator.
    Thanks for any help you can provide on this issue.

    Can you change the default image capture program in RH8? I have used Snagit for sooo many years and I would like to use it by clicking the Caputre button.  I know how to change it to edit pictures with Snagit (Tools > Options > Associations), but not to capture.

    Looks like a feature request.

  • Can you "bleed" a background image through a DW template?

    I'm in the process of redesigning a simple site and am fairly new to working with DW. I created a template with navigation along the left side and a content box on the right. The client requests a background image (which I set in the CSS body tag). However, once I set the content portion of the template it sits on top of the background image (effectively blocking out portions of the background image). I need it to "bleed" through so that the background image covers the entire screen content.
    Example: http://www.mchenrycac.org/test/index.html (or see image in the attachment)
    Can anyone suggest how to get the image to show through the content portion of the template?
    Russ

    It took me a few "tries" to place the code in the right place (and a few
    different iterations of the example given on the site) but the opacity tag
    does work as suggested. Setting the opacity to 100% allows the entire
    background to bleed through as I needed.
    I had to completely remove the suggested CSS tags for IE7 and IE8 however
    and go with just the opacity tag. Tested this in IE8 and Firefox and both
    display the opacity correctly with the single opacity statement:
    .opaque
    The class was added to the table statement in my template (the table that
    contains the content area for every web page) and works beautifully. Thank
    you for the quick response...

  • How can I get the background image of my website to cycle on a timer?

    I'm afraid my experience with Javascript (Which I'm certain this will require) is fairly limited and I'm still quite new to Dreamweaver, so I'm posing this question to you guys.
    I'd like the background image of my website to change every five minutes or so, however I'm unsure of how to accomplish this. For those of you with Windows 7, you can set the background of your desktop to cycle through a folder of images every ten minutes or so. I'd like something similar for this website.
    Thanks in advance.

    Supersized can do this for you with very less need for code.
    http://www.buildinternet.com/project/supersized/ - Take a look at their demo. It's also a lightweight plug-in and it has a lot of great effects you could use. Also x-browser friendly.

  • How can you make a background image change to a faded state at a certain point in scroll?

    I'm referring to a technique I've seen used in Relevant Magazine's iPad app if anyone has used it. I understand having a shape behind text that has a feathered gradient and when you scroll the text the shape gradually fades out the background image. But this is not the effect I'm trying to acheive. On some of the articles in Relevant, the screen is a full image and as you scroll the type up, the entire background dims when you scroll to a certain spot.
    I've tried searching for hours, but I feel like I'm getting no where because I don't really know what to search for. I feel like it requires use of something other than what DPS is capable of. Hopefully this makes sense and I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions and help!
    Thanks!

    Try applying the feathered gradient to the scrollable content frame, not the background frame. It will appear to change the color of the background frame.

  • Why PhotoBooth can't get the background images to work properly on the picture

    Why PhotoBooth can get the background images to work properly on the picture, is it because too much luminosity in the environment or too little? I have tried everything and nothing works.

    Might try this...
    Go to System Preferences > Universal Access and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.
    Go to System Preferences > Accessibility in 10.8.x,and down in the Display: section make sure that the Enhance contrast: slider is all the way to left to Normal, or more to the right for less Contrast.

  • Can you specify the background color when resizing the canvas?

    I haven't found this in the Scripting Reference.
    In the "Canvas Size…" dialog box you can specify the "Canvas Extension Color" to "Foreground", Background", "White", "Black", "Grey" or "Other…".
    Can this be scripted?
    I am writing an AppleScript to resize my canvas in order to add a slug to the bottom of the image. Currently my script stores the background color, so I can change it to White to accomplish my goal without discarding the background color (which gets restores at the end of the script). The problem is that if the user has a custom color (i.e. Pantone color) as the background color, the color does not get stored.

    See if this works for you… Just some very basic AppleScript with a call to 'do javascript' in this case the variable 'Solid_Fill' this is a cleaned up piece of scriptlistener output (done very nicely by X's tools you will see a post below to the latest release of this) The scriptlistener output has been turned into a function that javascript can call. Inside of the function call I have put a list arguments passed from AppleScript. So the values 0, 0, 0, 0 in the AppleScript list end up as arguments passed to the functions C, M, Y, K variables. AppleScript objects are 1 based Javascript are 0 based & values the same.
    set Solid_Fill to "function solidFillCMYK(C, M, Y, K) {
    function cTID(s) { return app.charIDToTypeID(s); };
    function sTID(s) { return app.stringIDToTypeID(s); };

    desc8.putObject( cTID('Usng'), sTID('contentLayer'), desc9 );
    executeAction( cTID('Mk  '), desc8, DialogModes.NO );
    }; solidFillCMYK(arguments[0], arguments[1], arguments[2], arguments[3]);"

  • Can you lock the SPDIF IN of the MBP to an external SPDIF clock?

    I've read a lot of inconclusive posts about this. Can it be done?
    The corollary question of course is: can the SPDIF OUT of the MBP sync to a clock at the SPDIF input?
    Can both input and output lock to an external SPDIF clock?
    TIA

    Qzxptl wrote:
    OK: once more into the breach... BTW, I really appreciate the followups Pancenter.
    Heh... sorry if I misunderstood any of this.
    This is the setup:
    - The RME Digiface is synced to another device via ADAT Optical sync; it's set up as a slave to that sync signal.
    - The Digiface SPDIF Optical (not ADAT: it IS set to SPDIF) out to MBP optical In.
    - The Macbook Pro Optical out to Digiface SPDIF Optical In.
    But now you have two different clock INPUTS into the Digiface, in fact you are looping the clock signal back in. Even though you have the RME Digiface set to ADAT sync input you are still receivng clock input at s/pdif. You can't have Two Inputs receiving digital clock as there is only ONE clock per device. This setup will not work as "a device receiving digital IN must lock to external that incoming clock." (unless of course there's separate wordclock for all devices)
    This sounds similar to the infamous MIDI Y cable I invented in 1985, the one that didn't work!
    Unplug the s/pdif out of the Macbook into the RME.
    Of course the Digiface settles down, right?
    - I can get audio into the MBP this way, no problem.
    - I can get audio out of the MBP this way, no problem.
    HOWEVER: the SPDIF sync on the DIGIFACE preferences keeps switching between "Sync" and "Lock" every 20 seconds or so indicating that the signal is not perfectly locked to the Digiface clock.
    The Digiface clock is nonexistent as it's clock is running off of ADAT clock, whatever that external device is. There is not a separate s/pdif clock output on the Digiface... it's the ADAT clock.

  • Can you lock the Waveform Zoom to a specific time?

    I edit audiobooks.  Mono voice.  No multi-track, just one channel of voice.  When I select a zoom "width", shall I say, of the waveform - say I'm looking at just :15 seconds of waveform of 25:00 minutes of total audio.  In other words, I'm zoomed in a lot.  Audition frequently re-sizes the zoom, randomly and at will.  (It's will, not mine!)
    Sometimes it will zoom itself all the way in.  Sometimes it might zoom out to see 3:00 of the 25:00.  It just does it when it wants to.
    Is there a way I can lock the waveform zoom to a specific "width" or time span?
    What is triggering the software to do this?
    I'm using the Mac version with a bluetooth Mac Mighty Mouse.
    Thank You

    You can prevent the zoom level from changing by setting the "Zoom Sensitivity" to 0% in Audition's Preferences on the General tab. For me that means that the mouse scroll wheel has no effect on the zoom level.
    Some of the buttons and keys (=/-) for zooming in and out will have no effect. What will happen if you try to zoom in is the waveform will be scrolled left/right, but not zoomed in/out, so the CTI is centered in the display.

    The background IS transparent, or, to look at another way, there is no background unless you create one. If you go to View>Show Transparency Grid, it's easier to see a what has a white fill or stroke and what does not.
