Can you merge monitors for a single display for video playback?

I use a projector for a monitor and it's 720p(1080x768) I'd like to add another identical one to up it to 2160x768. Will the os(or at least in part the applications such as itunes, imovie, dvd player and videos played in safari)play across both as one desktop or am I still going to be trapped to 1 display showing the video? I have a mac mini 2010 so mini diplay port and HDMI.
is this possible?

No - I think Safari is the only app that can have separate shortcuts (for different sites) on the homescreens. You can only access PDFs by first going into it's owning app.

Hi all, I am really hoping someone can help me here.
I am wondering if I can use my 24" iMac as a display for my MacBook Pro (both running Snow Leopard).
It's my father's 80th birthday party in about 24 hours time. I am doing up the music and slideshow (thanks Apple - so easy!).
My plan was to simply take my iMac and use it. However, I managed to drop the wireless keyboard (darn those dogs) and now my keyboard won't work. I have no backup keyboards here (gave the wired one to Dad to use with his Mac mini). I live in a country area with no access to a Mac store and it will take more than 24 hours to get a new one. Went to my local 'other computer' general store last night: I really don't want to buy an ugly black keyboard..... I have just had a great idea:
Can I network my MacBook Pro and use it as the source for the slide show and simply use the iMac as a display? I have plenty of DVI adaptors but am just not sure how I would go about the software side of things? Or should I simply buy an ugly PC keyboard (and if I do, will the WIndows button work as an Apple button???)
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

The imac 24 can't be used as a monitor over a DVI connection or the like, Suzanne, but you may be able to achieve what you want to using "Screen Sharing" by networking the two computers. This lets your MBP effectively control what is running on the iMac.
See HERE for the basic setup. For information about how to access the "shareable" screen from the MBP see HERE.
One possible problem may be actually getting this set-up on the iMac if it is not already enabled, however, unless you can borrow a keyboard from someone (your password may have to be entered to enable it). You may be able to get around this, if necessary, using the "keyboard viewer" (which you can place in the menubar using System preferences > Keyboard, if you don't already have it there).

If you subscribe to the Adobe PDF Pack online service, you can use the "Combine Files" feature to combine files and images into a single PDF file via the web interface (https://cloud.acrobat.com/combinepdf) on a desktop computer.

There is no merge but you can move data from one account to another via the Shared folder. Data is copied from Shared. Watch your free space when copying. These are large files. Do one at a time if you are on a small drive. After making copy, delete from other users before you start next copy.
Office365 installs in the main Applications folder and is available for all users on the computer. Activation is tied to the drive not the User.

I have two Apple id's. Not sure why. but one is for my iPod that was set up a long time ago and what I use for iTunes. The is for my iPhone. I want to use the itunes cloud storage so i can listen to my music on my iPhone but i'm guessing that won't work if you have two id's. Of couse they'd need to match. Can you merge two id's? And by using the same Apple ID you can also share purchases. If you have a different Apple ID for each iPhone then you can't share purchases.

- The Apple 30 pin to USB cable was redesigned to remove the 2 button squeeze feature pricesley because of your issue with the buttons falling off and consumers being unable to disconnect the cords. The newly redesigned cable removes these 2 side buttons for a shorter 30 pin connector that will work just fine in Apple devices.
