Can you monitor Mail download progress?

I am new to 10.4.4, and I miss the download progress of Mail in OSX 10.2.8.
Is there a way to monitor the download progress of Mail in 10.4.4? I am still on dialup and I would sure like to know what Mail is doing while I am online.

"I'm not sure why but Apple also removed the progress bar with Tiger Mail.

You, I, and others are finding a problem here. We must get as many people as possible to send feedback to apple to encourage this to be fixed.

adding backing vocals is a feature, I can't find them or how to do it.
The backing vocals are software instruments, listed in the "Choir" section of the software instrument browser. Afaik, the basic GarageBand does not have these instruments. My "choirs" all came with the JamPacks. The JamPacks are no longer sold separately, but if you buy Mainstage 2, you will get all Jam pack instruments and loops to be used with GararageBand; and it is not very expensive (~23 € at the AppStore).

How to monitor mavericks download progress

How do I monitor Mavericks download progress? I have clicked it several times while downloading and I am not sure if I have restarted the process or not - It has been 90 minutes and still says downloading. Do I need to restart?

I can see incremental blue line movement (1 third downloaded) under the X icon in my tray however when I go to the apps store for purchases....The gray box says Download...very confusing - it has been 2 hrs since I rebooted and started over. I am afraid to hit the download tab in purchases - but - 2 hrs for 5 gb? Should I wait it out?

I honestly wouldn't do that. You have no idea if the software update server will be properly functioning then. Also you should always backup your data prior installing updates.
Note when you install updates, you also have the option to install later, but just download first.
Always make sure the updates work with each other by finding out the requirements from the developer before installing. A clone backup will let you recover yourself to the point before the install, if you do it right.

Why do you want to use LDAP for Hard disk monitoring..???
U can do this by creating a MD5 checksum for all the files existing in some
perticular
directory and every hour or any configurable period u can recalculate the
checksum
to find out the change in the content.
I guess all u need is to get the code for "updatedb" utility of Linux and
instrument it for ur needs..

To mark and file your mail as junk on iPhone, do this:
When looking in your mailbox at the list of emails:
1. Choose the email you wish to send to Junk (do not open it)
2. Swipe it to the left.
You will see on the right 2 choices: Trash or More.
3. Choose More
Now you will see the choice to move it to Junk. When you do this it will create a Junk folder for that mailbox.

To initiate the mails we first need to have SMTP connection. To check the same go to so00 and try sending mails to ur ID. If is successful it states that u have the SMTP access.
To create mails to Process chains:
Right Click on the Process varient select the Create Message in the context menu.
Select the type of mail i.e for successful, Error, Anyways.
Then follow the screens.
Note: The recipient type should be Via Internet.

IPod Touch 4th Generation, can you use without downloading iTunes to your computer

My son got an iPod Touch for Christmas. When charged and turned on, it only shows a picture of a cord and the iTunes logo. We've been trying to download iTunes to my computer (asked question over at iTunes forum as keep receiving 'iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application' error and will not download, dial up, Toast, IE9) and can not get it done. I have been told there is no disc that can be sent to me to start iTunes on my computer. We've taken the iPod to a local WiFi spot but the screen will not change. (And could not download at the local WiFi spot iTunes to my computer either.)
Is there anyway to start this iPod Touch without having iTunes downloaded to your computer? This was not mentioned anywhere when I bought the iPod for Christmas and we are very upset that he has been unable to even use his present. No one in my community knows how to fix this, no one has WiFi and the local WiFi spot, I have already sat there for 6 hours trying to get this done and keep getting this error.
We are very disgusted with the whole business and have gone out and bought him something of his choosing and are about ready to nix the whole business with iPods, iPads and anything 'i' related between myself, my family, and my whole community because we feel its wrong to have something that can't be used unless you have faster than dial up service. If you're getting the "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application" error, it likely means that you may have tried to download the 64bit iTunes Setup exe (application). You mentioned you couldn't download because you have dialup, However, even with dialup you should be able to download iTunes. You can go to the following apple site and scroll down and click on the Windows 32 bit version of iTunes. On dialup it will take a while to download, but it can be done. See if this helps.

This doesn't matter. The app store will not let you download apps that are larger than a certain size over cellular. You have to use wifi.

Yes, it's in your Applications folder and is called "Install OS X". Make sure to empty your trash afterwards to clear the space.

How can I have Mail download only 2 years of my Gmail?

The Mac mailbox for my Gmail account is 30 GB which is too much on a MacBook Air. I do want a two years of my personal and business emails available offline. But I don't need commercial mailinglists or old mail. I do want to keep them on the Gmail server.
Is there a good way to specify a time limit or set of mailboxes with the current version of mail. I like the new Mac Mail approach of keeping the messages in the All Mail folder, despite lables, because it reduces duplicates. But as a result the Gmail IMAP setting to limit downloads to 10,000 messages isn't big enough to give me the number of messages I want on the local drive.
Is there a way to get mail to have smarter limits on what is stored locally?

Hi derreeg Open mail and go to prefs, then select accounts, select your gmail account and click the tab in the right frame called Advanced, there is a check-box you can UNCHECK called include when automatically checking for new mail.
dah dah all done, mail will now not check for new emails sent to your gmail account.

I Use Bellsouth as my ISP. As other Posters have noted they are one of the ISPs that won't accept outgoing mail when you are on the Edge Network (even more frustrating since they are owned by AT&T!). When I go out, I have to change my outgoing mail server to cwmx.com which allows me to send messages and reply to e-mails over the Edge network or random Wi-Fis I pick up.
However, cwmx.com doesn't work over my home network...I have to reinsert mail.bellsouth.net:25 in the outgoing server. It is a real pain.
So, I also have a G-mail account. I thought if while I was out, and I went to iPhone/settings/mail/default account, I could select G-mail as the default and I could respond to e-mails that came in on my Bellsouth account via G-mail. Not so fast, Kemosabe!
So, does anyone know a way to move an incoming message from one email account to another on the iPhone so you can reply using a different account?
Just as an anecdotal observation, seems like Apple's iPhone partner, AT&T and all of it's children could give less than two hoots about Apple, Safari, etc. They seem pretty stuck in the PC world.

Formally I always used my ISP's email account as my primary account and when moving or if deciding to change ISPs (I moved twice within a two year period of time), this required changing my email address so I switched my primary email account to a .Mac account so my ISP doesn't matter. It has an authenticated SMTP server so I can send messages with my account regardless which ISP I'm using for my internet access.
A Gmail account would provide the same for you, is free and can be accessed as a POP account or IMAP account with any email client on your computer and with the iPhone's email client. An IMAP account would also provide for keeping all server stored mailboxes synchronized between both email clients used and the ability to save Sent messages on the server with both so sending a message with the iPhone's email client will be available in the account's Sent mailbox with the email client used on your computer automatically and vice-versa. You can also create additional server stored mailboxes with the email client used on your computer for storing received or sent messages by by category and these additional server stored mailboxes will be available with the iPhone's email client automatically.
This is not possible with a POP account and BellSouth provides POP account access only.
I understand it is a pain to change your email address but with the combined benefits of a Gmail account which is free and has a good spam filter on the server, I think you should give this some serious consideration.
