Can you open a calculator and add or subtract within a cell?

I am trying to see if there is a way to use the number pad as a calculator and add figures then enter into a cell for further use. I want to eliminate the use of my adding machine if possible and just use my keyboard to do my additions and enter directly into my spreadsheet. Is there a function that opens a calcultor for a cell, do the additions on the keypad, hit enter and have the total put into the cell?

Are you aware that OSX has, built-in, Calculator.app?
With Calculator.app, you can make your calculations, Command-C to copy the result to the Clipboard, switch to Numbers and Command-V into the target cell.

I can't open clock, calculator, and camera on the lock screen

it happened since i updated to ios 8.
When i slide up on the lock screen, the control center pops up, but when i want to open these 3 apps, it just can't open and the screen turn black but the the assistive touch button still there.. What do you mean by they are not enabling? Did you have restrictions turned on for these apps? Do they appears as greyed out on your screen? Or did they totally disappear?
Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Can you take a photograph and add a caption and then email for business use?

I want to be able to utilize my ipad in the followin manner:
take a photo of a construction condition, write a caption under the photo or several photos adn then email to office so they can format and send out to contractor.
I also want to create a report template to insert on my ipad and write my info on the report to submit to office with photos.... Is this possible?

With the pages app, my experience has been you have to take the photo, close out of camera, open pages, create a new blank document, go to tools, select the photo(s), copy them to the document, size it appropriately and then work your text around the outside of the photo box. Its good if you want to add arrows and stuff pointing to an object in the photo but frankly it's time consuming and actually kind of a hassle.
I want to be able to snap a pic and pop a caption on it RIGHT THEN, ....without closing and opening any other apps. The key for me is quick and easy. I take allot of job site photos that need descriptions on them. Any input on that ?

I can't open new windows and add-ons aren't working.

I recently scrubbed my hard drive due to virus issues in order to contain the virus before it spread. After installing Firefox I noticed that I was unable to open new windows, links that normally opened a new window for Firefox weren't working, and I can't access plug-ins like AdBlock Plus which I used frequently before. I've never had this problem before. I turned off all security settings and unplugged from the internet to see if that was the problem, but that didn't work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, same deal.

I open gmail. I want to save an email to one of my folders.
I position my cursor over the appropriate Folder icon or by choice, to the Trash.
The friendly finger pointing cursor icon changes to an arrow icon.
The hand icon allows me flawless access to opening and/or moving emails.
The arrow, however does not open the link.
On the Google menu bar the cursor hand with finger opens the links to Everett (my name), Search, Images, Maps and Play.
When I attempt to open the remaining links in the menu bar (YouTube, News, Gmail, Drive, Calendar and More) the arrow icon replaces the hand. The arrow icon does not work. It will not activate these links. Nor does it open email messages in the Inbox.
Usually I reset, even reboot Safire and sometimes the problem goes away, then reappears.
Can you imagine if this condition should it happen to a tech savvy Google Support person? Perhaps one can share and make my problem go away.
I am considering dropping Google as my mail source. Unfortunate!

I have uninstalled my Access Connection, but this problem seems to persist. IBM technician have changed the wireless card of my T60, the first few days after it was changed was very fine, no problem at all. Try to reset it. just press hold the on/off botton (ignore the red slider) just hold it then the ipad is automatically reset. dont worry about your file, there nothing happen to it. Godbless.

Add another e-mail account to your messages, so people could reach you on that e-mail from messages. As soon as you are online (if you have wifi only iPad) you are able to send and receive messages. i.e. your son can send you a messages from his iPhone addressing it to your (that additional) e-mail address.

Can you move files back and forth between an iPad and a PC using iTunes?

If I read this article correctly, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094 I should be able to connect my iPad to my PC, fire up iTunes and then on the Apps tab in iTunes I should be able to click on an app, Pages for example and then just drag files onto the Pages Documents column from a Windows Explorer window.
This is great. I was hoping to use DropBox but it is such a hassle I don't know why people are so thrilled with DropBox on iPad. If I can just move files back and forth using iTunes that should be fairly easy. I wish there was a way to just upload my files to iCloud from my PC but the iCloud control panel app for Windows only seems to connect Outlook, Photostream and Bookmarks. I want to be able to just carry my iPad and not have to deal with a computer.

I still need to do some trial and error testing with DropBox and my iPad. But can I link my iPad to my DropBox account so that I can always see the files on DropBox when I open Pages on my iPad? How many photos can you load into Organizer and Editor at one time. I receive the error message, "Unable to Import Files", which says "You exceeded number of files that can be selecteed and imported at once...." What is the number? Secondly is there a way around this for either the Organizer or Editor to work on thousands of photos at the same time?

I have never heard of this particular limit before.
Please understand, this appears to be the limit you can import into the Organizer at one time -- you can have as many photos as you want in the Organizer; but apparently you have to import in batches rather than all at once.
I don't think it applies to the editor; and I can't imagine wanting to have more then a few files in the editor at any one time ... even if you could open 2000 photos in the editor at once, what sense would that make?

This may seem a fine point, but iWork apps don't actually Open Office apps. They Import them. The reason I make this distinction for you is that when you view the result of the import, you may see some variations from what was in the Office document because of an imperfect translation, and when you make edits, you are editing an iWork document, not the original Office document.

Pages '09 will open .doc files from Word 2004. The Mac OS is not what is in question. Pages '09 opens Word 2004 documents and if the same version of Pages will run in Lion and in Mountain Lion ..... Thats all that matters.

winmail.dat files usually mean the email has been sent in rich text format - you could either the person who sent it to send it in a different format e.g. plain text or HTML, or there are a few apps in the store that support it (search for winmail.date in the store).

Can not open JPEG files and can not create JPEG files from other software

Can not open JPEG files and can not create JPEG files from other software (For example from Solidworks).
When I try to right click on a JPEG, a notice window appears written: "Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows is
checking for a solution to the problem" and then the notice box disapears, the desktop appears and I can continue working.
From the other side - If I try to save as JPEG a screen of Solidworks (like a view of a part) the Solidworks falls but the JPEG
is created (I can see its name in the directory I created it).
I can open the JPEGS with the Paint software if I want but not with the Windows Photo Viewer.
I have the feeling that the Windows Photo Viewer disapeared from my computer - just a feeling.
I will appreciate your assistance.

Did Windows Photo Viewer option appear when you right click the JPEG file and select open with?
