I want to burn all my dad's home movies on to a CD disk and later pull clips off for iMovie. Is this possible?

I translate CD = 'disk', right?
(CDs are tiny data media, fitting 700MB of data... that is less than 15min of modern HDef video...)
You can create videoDVDs from your home videos - but not with iMovie. You need additionally iDVD, the 'disk maker' from Apple. Came preinstalled on oder Macs, not avail at AppStore or Apple.com, but part on older iLife-packages you get at eBay etc.
But...
videoDVD is an end-of-the road. And SDef only, no fullHD .. about a quarter of resolution of actual HDef...
In terms of: not meant to be re-imported again.
Although with a nice pic quality, it is highly compressed. You need 3rd party tools to re-convert > quality loss. High quality loss.
Plan B)
For long term storage buy any external hard drive. Export the movie with maximum quality. (depends on the version of iMovie your using).
DVDs are just an extra; not meant for long-term storage nor re-using.

1) Open your PDF (in Adobe Acrobat Pro)
2) Chose print
The print/printer options pop-up will show.
3) In the printer section, do not use your normal printer, a printer named Adobe PDF should be an option. Chose it.
4) Under the "Page handling" section, change the Page Scaling drop-down menu to "Multiple pages per sheet".
It works fine, but it looses all of the font information and the search no longer works. How can you do it and save the font info, so the search tool continues to operate.

Can you connect external HD to time capsule and use it as NAS?

I have a Time Capsule which I uses to back up my family's mac. I also have an Airport Extreme to extend the range. I have no problem reversing the function as to have the Time Capsule extend if need be.
My wife's old Power PC display took a crap, and we're thinking of getting the new MacBook Air. Unfortunately this means space will be a premium. We're wondering if it is possible to connect an external HD to either Time Capsule or Airport Extreme to use it as NAS? We plan to move all our videos, mainly home video, and iTunes library to it and have the whole family access it from there.
There are few problems I might see. While me and my wife share the same iTunes library, my little sister totally have different library. I'm sure some songs overlaps. Is there any way to consilidate this without having overlaps? Also, is it possible to still organize it so I only have my current library sync to my iOS devices without manually managed music?
I have a few old HD from my macbooks that just sitting around. One is 250GB and the other is 320GB that I'd like to see it getting some use if possible.

Can you take sofeware written on one computer and use it on another.

We have a problem with the apllication maybe or the gpib. The apllication was working on one computer, but we change out that computer now we can get the program to work. A error message is generated (-107---) and fail to set up the test equipment.

Yes. Put the video on pause at the place where you want to take a "still" photo. Then take a screen shot by using the cross hair option - Apple/Shift/4 or use the "Grab" app which is inside your Utility folder.

Hi, I'll see if I can help. The only way I know of importing directly from iMovie off of a DVD is with a converter box hooked up to an external DVD player. However there are a few freeware programs you could try. One is Handbrake, with it you can convert your DVD into a MPEG-4 file, this is incredibly easy however the quality will be a little lower than that of a DVD. Another program is MactheRipper which will rip the entire DVD onto your hard drive but you will have to hunt through all the files to find the ones you want. I hope this helps.

try using iPhoto, if you don't have iPhoto then you can use image capture. If you can't find image capture type it into the finder.

The photo part is rather self-explanatory. as long as your photos are in the right format and with the right naming convention they should import right over. The video may be a bit more tricky. So you may want to do some more research and make sure your camera records a format the iPad will import and whether or not you need an app such as iMovie

I would say no. I have an Ipad2 with the connection kit. A recent Sony camera which works fine in imovie for my 27" imac, but nothing with the Ipad. Quick answer: Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields. If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

If I understand your topic correctly, you already know how to tether your camera to make images using Nikon's Camera Control Pro 2 or some other software. You now want to know how to view images you have already recorded.
To view images or video clips you have already saved to your Mac, use iPhoto or iMovie. Alternatively, you can use some other viewing or editing software you have installed on your Mac.
To view images or video clips you have already saved to your camera's memory card, use the “Nikon Transfer 2” function (see page 179 of your camera's user manual) from the Nikon ViewNX 2 CD-ROM that came with your camera to copy your images or clips from the camera to the computer. (Alternatively, you can use some other transfer software you have installed on your Mac.) Then use iPhoto, iMovie, or other software as described in the previous paragraph.
