Can you revert back to ios5 from 6

Hi, I have updated to IOS6 on my iPhone 3G 16gb, but seems very sluggish and slow, did a bit of googling and it seems this can happen on phones lower than 3GS/4G, so, can I safely revert back to IOS5? is this possible.

    The 30-pin connector on the iPhone 4 dock might not have all the connector pins to do video.
    I'm 99% sure the Universal Dock does have the pins (and therefor supports video out).

    DAM = "Digital Asset Manager", a fancy name for a filing system.
    iPhoto keeps the original and makes one (usually much smaller) copy based on your edits. It is non-destructive in that if you crop, and later change the color, iPhoto will go back to the original and apply the corrections to get the new image, it will not simply modify the preview.
    If you want a high quality copy of the image, use the export function which allows you to specify the size and compression.

    and make sure that settings->itunes & app stores-> appleId was set correctly

    The update to Photos leaves iPhoto installed, and also lets the iPhoto Library compatible with iPhoto. It creates a new Photos Library, that is sharing the photos with the iPhoto Library, so it will not need much extra space. You can use both libraries independently of each other. Edits you do in either library will not be visible in the other.

    Just do not uninstall iPhoto or delete the library, if you want an option to revert back. Also, make a full backup before doing the upgrade.

    BTW: why do I want to do this? Ever since going to IOS8 my devices have become much slower to start up and also seem jerky during operation.

    Note that what Allan is suggesting is a way to resolve your issues. It will not downgrade your software version.

    All you have to do to downgrade is plug in your device into iTunes and click restore. Let it do it's thing and you'll be back on 5.1.1. And if that doesn't work. Just search on google for its 5.1.1 for your device and download it. And after that shift then click on restore and browse for your the 5.1.2 firmware (for windows) and Mac use (alt) and click restore. Hope this helps cause I'm sure everybody with an apple device has done so,etching crazy like him so stop judging the man. Or woman.

    Backup is your best option if you have one. Reverting software will not bring the contacts back.

    I installed iTunes 10 and it killed MS Outlook 2000, so, long story short, I "Restored" Windows to day before I installed iTunes 10, then used "Repair" function to reinstall iTunes 9.2. Now, when I try to open iTunes, it tells me library is in a more recent version of iTunes. I found the Previous iTunes library files, and there's one there that must've been made during conversion - so it's looking good so far. But then I searched C drive, and there is no file named iTunes Library.itl. Do I still just save the most recent "previous" file in the iTunes folder, changing the name to "iTunes Library.itl", or should I be concerned that there's not already a file in there with that name?

    Which means restoring your system to the state it was at before updating to ML by reinstalling from your backup. Time Macine or your bootable clone.

    Looks like I've really screwed up this time. I was trying to set up Windows 8.1 on my iMac Yosemite) and decided to use boot camp. After 8.1 was installed I wanted to go back to Yosemite but can't seem to do it. Is there no way to return to Yosemite from boot camp? I know the drive was partitioned into OS X and Windows sections and when I reboot holding down the option key, there is no partition for OS X shown. Please help.
