Can you run 32 bit software on a 64 bit Mac Book Pro?
I have a MacBook Pro (mid 2012, 64 bit) and need (not want! but need) to add Bootcamp in order to run Windows 7 Professional. The W7 version I have is 32 bit program -- can I run it on my MacBook or must I use a 64 bit version of Windows? Note: I can not use Windows 8 for the proprietary software I am trying to use. I recently upgraded to Yosemite. Thanks!

When you get the MBP, the first time you turn it on, the Setup Assistant will offer to migrate your data from an old computer to the new one. Take advantage of the offer, and elect to migrate your applications too. If your MS Office apps won't open after being moved over, it will likely be because Microsoft's registration and activation routines have locked the software to the first computer it was installed on. You'll need to consult Microsoft for advice on freeing it up for use on the new computer, which will probably entail deactivationg it on the old one first.

Can you use a 1/4 headphone jack on a mac book pro?

I have a pair of Audio Technica ATHM50RD Pro DJ Headphones. I was using them today with my 2010 Mac Book pro and the normal sized headphone jack broke off in my headphone jack port thingy. I have consequently done a lot of research and had decided to order http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAUD-Adapter-C-Media-Chipset/dp/B001MSS6CS/ref= cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t and get my headphones replaced because they are under warranty but then I remembered that another headphone jack had come with the headphones. I subsequently found this larger jack which I think is a 1/4 jack thingy that screws on top of my regular broken jack. I was wondering if rather than having to replace my headphones and computer plug in thing if there is some usb thing I can use to plug my 1/4 jack into my computer. If this is not a possibilty my other question is will the Syba device work if I buy and use my less nice headphones with it? Thanks in advance.Here is Apple's official position on use of adapters.

I've tried to look this up on the app, and it tells me to use the iTunes file sharing and I can see anything with this trying to use both. I'm trying to keep my pictures in chronological order. Does in know how I can use this? Any help I would greatly appreciate. Thank you!
OK. This is two separate issues. To import pictures on your iPhone into your MBP, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture app (in the Applications folder).
To use iPhoto, connect your iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable & launch iPhoto. Your iPhone will be listed it in the "Devices" panel on the left. Choose it & you will get a window where you can import all or selected photos as either "split events" or as a single event. If you need help with this, try opening iPhoto's built-in help & selecting the "Import Photos" item. That will open the Import photos from iPhone or other mobile phone help topic. Expand the Import photos from iPhone section & study it. It should answer all your questions about this better than I can!
To use the Image Capture app, you connect the iPhone & select it just like above. The app has several options for importing images, but what you may find useful if you do not want to import directly into iPhoto is that you can just drag any of the iPhone's displayed items onto the desktop or into a folder like you would any other file & they will be copied to that location.
As for organization of items in iPhoto, there are four ways they can be grouped for display (by event, by photo, by face, & by place). All except by faces offers a "By date" sort choice in the iPhoto View > Sort Photos menu item. -

How can you tell if your fan is working on your mac book pro? I cannot hear mine running and can't feel any air coming out. A couple of weeks ago, my battery literally exploded out of the case, Is this an item that can be self serviced or does it require a trip to the Apple repair store?
Macbook pro fan usually has really LOW noise, and it is not really strong, so you might not feel the air.
Fans are used to cool the CPU and GPU, not batteries.
But if you need to replace fans or batteries, take it to the store. Make reservations to save time.

If you also have a Photoshop version of the Photoshop application, the answer is of course YES.
Otherwise, the answer is no,
If you have the CC subscription, then of course you can install a Photoshop Windows version and run your plug-in. That'll be separate from your Photoshop Mac install.. -

How can I do to transfer all iTunes library from my Mac book Pro to Time capsule without to lost the alphabetic sequence of songs & artists? What is the correct way to transfer my 3000 songs to Time capsule, to free the memory of my Mac?
The following are the basic steps to transfer your iTunes Media folder from your MacBook Pro to the Time Capsule (TC). Note: You will leave the iTunes Library, and its associated files, on the MacBook Pro as you will only be moving the media files.
Be sure to shutdown iTunes before starting.
Next, move the "iTunes Music" folder, located in ~/Music/iTunes/, to wherever you want on your TC's internal hard drive. Remember to leave the Album Artwork folder, as well as the three individual library files where they are on the MacBook Pro.
Wait a while. If you have a large library, this will take a bit of time.
Once the iTunes Media folder has been transferred, open iTunes. Note: It will still be looking at your local iTunes Library on the MBP. As such it will think that the iTunes Media folder is still on the MBP as well. However, we just relocated it to the TC. If you attempt to select any song, you will get an error that the song is "missing." Not to worry, we will correct this in the next step.
We need to tell iTunes the media has moved to the TC's internal HDD. To change where iTunes "looks" for the media, open iTunes and go to the Advanced > General tab and use the "Change..." button to tell it where your new "iTunes Music" library is located.
Once this is done iTunes will likely pop up a progress window telling you that it's re-analyzing your library. Let it complete this step.
As a final check to make sure everything when as planned, click on any library file from within iTunes and press cmd + i (or View > Get Info). At the bottom of the Summary tab in that window is a "Where:" section that tells you the actual file path to that piece of media; be sure that path begins with the name of your TC's drive, and not "Macintosh HD." -
I am running mountain lion os 10.8.5 on mac book pro mid 2012 build. If I upgrade to Mavericks will MS Office programs still work? There does not appear to be an updated version of MS Office for Mac past 2011 that I bought last year and am using now. Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks.Office 2008 and 2011 will run on Mavericks, but you may not be able to get the installer for it at this time.

Yes, a 13" non-Air model requires a minimum of 60 watts, so you will be fine. If it is a 2011 or earlier model, the connector is the regular MagSafe, whereas this year's models use the MagSafe 2 that is different.

I have a Mac Book Pro and downloaded the latest software OS X. Now whenever I start my computer, I have to wait for Windows Mac to do its thing. I checked and the "open at login" option is not checked. How can I turn this feature off? It's driving me nuts!!
All fixed Barry. When I went to restart my computer, the question was right there. Do you want to open Windows when opening. NOPE!!
