Can you save a document in Pages and then upload it to a website?

In other words, can I create a word document in Pages on the iPad and save it somewhere (?) and then go to a site and use its upload feature, ie Browse for a document, and then send it to the site.
(Right now, the "Choose File" button on the site I want to use is grayed out on my iPod Touch)

I have the same need as vudean. I don't understand the security issue. If I type a document using Pages or whatever, why can't I upload the document to a web site? I think Apple should make the standard web "file upload control" available to iPad users.
I understand that there should be some limitations, but it should be possible to upload standard user files. I can upload them to Dropbox, so I don't se the big difference.
Does Apple read this? If not, where can I propose this feature to them?

Locate the file on your Mac, plug in the USB stick (the mac should prompt you to open it, or do this automatically), click and drag the file from the computer (wherever it's saved to) to the USB folder. That's just putting an already saved file there.
To save it TO your USB stick, find it in the Save To diolog on the sidebar. Click it, then save it there.

It's very unlikely that the Pages program is corrupt. Corruption of the Pages preferences would be much more common & does not require reinstalling the program to fix. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist, empty the Trash & then restart Pages.

CreatePDF is an online application used to convert and combine files of any other format to PDF or converting PDF files to MS Word/ Excel or RTF, but you cannot edit PDF files in Adobe CreatePDF. In order to edit PDF you need to purchase Adobe Acrobat XI.

Can I record sound using a microphone and then upload it to server?

Hello guys I thank you in advance for reading this. What I want to know is if it is possible to record a sound clip using a microphone and then upload it to the server using a swf applet in a webpage. Im an experienced java/javascript programmer but just starting out with flash/action script. What technologies will I need to do this? Can I do this simply using simply an swf file and an apache/php or jsp page? Again, thanks alot for your help.

You can Microphone class in Flash to record the sound and it will directly upload to FMS server .
Use the Microphone class to capture audio from a microphone attached to a computer . Use the Microphone class to monitor the audio locally. Use the NetConnection and NetStream classes to transmit the audio to Flash Media Server. Flash Media Server can send the audio to other servers and broadcast it to other clients running Swf files .

Also if it's the Office 2004 version of Word it won't work in Lion since it's a Power PC program. Office 2008 will work in Lion if it's already installed when you upgrade. But it won't install on Lion because the installer program uses Power PC code. Office 2011 is the only one that will install and work on Lion.

I can't save a document in pages (newest version-'13)

I recently updated pages and when I try to save a document an alert comes down stateing "The file "Untitled.pages" couldn't be opened". Does anyone know if there is a fix to this problem?

I had this same problem - I was very disappointed. I played around with it a bit and discovered that by changing the filename it fixed the problem. Initial file names were "Untitled.pages"... "Untitled 2.pages" etc. You can change the name by clicking the title of the document window. After changing the filename, I was able to save without issues and then move the file to the location of my choice.

Can you share layers to multiple pages and have the content in the layers in different areas?

I'm wondering if there's a way to share a layer folder (like the footer layer) to multiple pages but still be able to move the entire folder independantly between each page. For example, maybe I have a page that's 5 inches long and another page that's 10 inches long. I want the footer to always show at the bottom but if I change a link or hotspot on one area in the footer, I want it to change on all pages. Is there a way in fireworks for this to work the way I want?

I don't think you can copy layers – at least not in the
way you are thinking.
But you can select frames or a range of frames and then
copy/cut frames.
In the new document you can then paste frames. It has a lot
of variations depending upon how you many you copy, if there are
multiple layers, what area you select before pasting and so on. It
would take a lot to describe and I'm not sure I would describe it
properly.
Generally just give it a try and get an intuitive feel for
it. The choices are available from the Edit menu but also from a
right click.
It is also possible to slect and edit multiple frames so if
you do need to move a bunch of things on different key frames that
is also possible.

That assumes two things:
1. That Apple would have let Microsoft have access to its file format.
2. That Microsoft would want to spend the time and trouble to write filters for file formats that Apple can't be bothered doing for its own software.

My mum wants to get my sister a iPhone 4 for her 15th birthday, but she thinks buying it in Australia is a little silly, because shes going to America next month and wants to get it there because its cheaper (even though the Aussie dollars higher?) and then bring it here (unused), andd would it then be possible to set it up on a Australian network?
Any help with this question would be greatly appreciated.

I converted the US prices and the Australian prices to British pounds: a 16GB iPhone costs around 403GBP in the US, and around 569GBP in Australia.
I can understand where the OP is coming from.... but repeat that taxes could wipe out that difference.
There is also the warranty problem. Will Apple Australia give help and repair a US Phone?
I've talked myself out of it. Buy Australian!

There is much to agree with on both sides of this argument. Yes it's just a tablet and not a full blown PC but at the same time, how pathetic it is if a website asks you to upload a document and all the iPad will do is look in the pictures folder? This is so frustrating that's it's actually quite annoying!
So picture the scene, you've got a really important document or CV to upload to a generic website and all the iPad (or iPhone) can do is look straight at your photo's. GREAT, that'll really help me out, ...erm NO!!
As a user we can't change the website and we can't certainly change the OS on the tablet so where does that leave you? That's right, going on a wild goose chase looking for a free app that will change your document into a picture, just so you can upload it. It's just not productive at all. And before you say get Dropbox or Onedrive etc, I already have them. The website your trying to upload to can't get past the 'straight to pictures' problem i mentioned above. Infinite loop ensues...
To be honest, if your iPad or iPhone has Apple Pages on it, why doesn't the device allow you to choose from that as well? That would put an end to this lack of productivity and eventual apple device annoyance. So going back to your original complaint, I agree, I find my iPad to be more of a toy than a work station, and I will only change my mind when Pages is better integrated to be of actual use in Safari and other essential apps.

I am trying to save data to a spreadsheet.
Each set of test data needs to be saved under a different worksheet. Is this possible and how can I do it?

As the example that Dennis pointed out, this can be done using activeX. In addition to that example I have another that demonstrates how to create a new workbook with multiple worksheets and save data to each of them. I hope that between the two you can get an idea of what to do.
