Can you search for a particular date in the past to locate a file in the time machine

Using a MacBook, OSX 10.7.5
Is there a way to go back to a certain date in the history of the time machine? Example - is there a quick way to go back to Oct 25, 2012?

you can apply color threshold and extract the required color in the image. Try color threshold in vision assistant.

Can you search by last adjusted date?

LR allows for a smart search by "Edit Date > In the last 'x' days." Unfortunately, LR considers changes to keywords as a modification. I'm looking for smart collection that displays images "last adjusted" within "x" number of days. For example, to retrieve images I've been working on during the last month. Does anyone have an idea of how to do this? Thanks.

Jim, you are correct. The "last modified date" is tracked by the operating system and that information is not "in" LR. However, if LR timestamped it's "adjustments file" then we would be able to use that as a search criteria. However, my "problem" is not really too great a problem. I already color label "blue" all images that I considered "finished." So I can do the same (Yellow for example) for images that I am doing "serious" editing on (that is, beyond the basics).

How can you search for outlook email folders quickly?

I am connected to my work outlook email system and within outlook I have circa 500+ folders. From the iPhone you can see all the folders in the email account but the list is (a). expanded {which makes the list huge} and (b). there appears to be no facility to search for a folder.
Normally in other areas of the iphone OS, obviously you pull down (rather than pushing up) and you are shown the search box.
This appears to have been missed in this area of the OS so all you have is your finger to scroll through the list - I am sure that I am not the only one who has found this problem as it is very difficult to use the iphone without a search facility or at least not expanding all the folders.
It takes me 5-10 minutes to find a folder for example...

Can you search for more than one person in a photo

Let's say you named all the faces in iphoto and now you want to search for a photo that contains two particular people, for example I want iphoto to find all the pictures that have Bob and Mary in that shot.
Is there a way to do this. I tried and it finds Bobs and Mary's pictures but not the ones where they are together? Maybe there is a way by writing Bob + Mary and then iphoto will find all those pictures?

It will work with any of the smart album criteria - file menu ==> new smart album
The easiest way to see is to take a look at what is available there - and make a smart album or two - if you don't like them just drag them to the iPhoto trash and do another one

Select iTunes music store on the left side of the iTunes window. You will see a search field.

I have the latest version of iTunes. Today I did a search for a particular song. In the past, I used to get a list of the song and the various artists who recorded it, and I could click the little arrow and play a preview of that song before I decided to buy it. Today the results didn't display that way - instead, I got a page with probably 50 or 100 songs all spread out across the page, and the "writing" was all overlayed so you couldn't quite tell what you're supposed to see! I want to go back to the "list" view but couldn't find anywhere to change the view preference. Any idea how?

To Calculate Opening Stock & Closing stock there are different procedures.
It just depends of\n the client requirements & usage of the material.
For example, we have different types of stocks, like, Through Pipeline, Special, Unristricted, quality, safety,
and many types of stocks.... so all these types are indicated in MSEG tabe in SOBTZ field,...
Now Comimg to your Query, You need to calculate OPENING & CLOSING STOCK.
We have a similiar standard report in MB5B Tcode..
to get the same results in your report do like this...
For valuated stock go to the MARDH, MBEWH, MCHBH tables But I Prefer MBEWH.
here in MBEWH give the month & year and you get the result in LBKUM field...
For Special stock, You need to go to another table like MKOLH,,(I forgot still 2 more) and
give the month & year inputs and you will get the result in SLABS field.
and remaining MB5B refers to its deetails lists with different Movement types,
whcih you can get clearly from MSEG Table...
Hope you can write the select Queries accordingly.

Are you aware that if you restore your ipad that you will lose all data from your ipad and very difficult to get it back unless you had previously made a back-up of your data on itunes or in the cloud. and that would be on the computer you set those up on. (There are some independent apps out there that might help restore data but I don't have any experience with them...)
Also, I think if you restore on another computer you're supposed to have administrator rights and have the latest itunes update. And I think if you sync (if restoring is considered syncing with another computer, you'll be locked out of your computer or a new one.)
I don't know if there is a way for you to safely eject your ipad from your mom's laptop and find another way, but please read this

I can't search for book or authors in ibooks. When I search an author or book and click on it a message that says not results found comes up. Even if I try to look up something popular like Dracula or Twilight. Is there some setting I should have clicked? It won't find or download any books at all anymore. This started about a month ago. I see that you are having issues with your connection to the iBooks Store. Here is an article with some troubleshooting steps that will be relevant to your issue, even though the article was written for issues with the iTunes Store:

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.

How can I search for duplicate photos in iPhoto 9.5.1 library. Installed on iMac 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, Mavericks 10.9.5.

Some users have reported that PhotoSweeper did the best in finding all of the dups in their library: iphoto has duplicated many photos, how...: Apple Support Communities.
If you have an iPhone and have it set to keep the normal photo when shooting HDR photos the two image files that are created will be duplicates in a manner of speaking (same image) but there are only twp apps that detected the iPhone HDR and normal photos as being duplicates: PhotoSweeper and Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto. None of the other apps detected those two files as being duplicates as they look for file name as well as other attributes and the two files from the iPhone have different file names.
iPLM, however, is the best all around iPhoto utility as it can do so much more than just find duplicates. IMO it's a must have tool if using iPhoto.

Search for a particular user

I have configured LDAP authentication and mapped few LDAP user groups to BOXI. When an user group is added all the user will also be mapped to BOXI. For the users mapped the distinguished name is added as one of the alias.
The requirement is to search for a particular user in the BOXI using the distinguished name(DN), hence need to query on the alias name or ID. I tried the query something like but didn't worked.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES.1.SI_NAME like '%DISTINGUISHED_NAME%'
IF the DN is like cn=userName,ou=users,ou=group1, dc=myorg, dc=com and the query is written as it works.
SELECT * FROM CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS WHERE SI_KIND='User' AND SI_ALIASES like '%userName%'
Could you help in writing a query on the user alias.
