Is there an app on the ipod touch you can download to send text messages to non-ipod touch users?

if you are using imessages on your ipod you can only send messages to apple products suchs as ipad, iphone, and ipod touch . but if you would like to send messages to a phone that is not an apple product you can download a texting app like text + or pinger.

There are apps available in the App store that allows you to sent text messages to phones and other devices. Text+ is one such app. Some apps charge for the texts similar to a phone if you do not send to another device using the same app.
WIth iOS 5 you can use the Messages app to text to another iOS 5 device.

The ability to see and send calendar invites is a function of the calendar you are subscribing to and who owns it. We need more information, like what calendar are you subscribing to? MS Exchange? Google? Mobile Me?

First of all, you need you have at least iOS 5 installed. Second, the person you are texting must have an iDevice with iOS 5 or higher installed. You can´t send messages to an non-iDevice. You´ll also need an Wi-Fi network to send iMessages. Hope it helped!

Frustration is setting in after using my new mini iPad. My text messages seem to be limited to iMessages!? Horrible since my friends and family are not all iphone users! Is my iPad limited to iMessages? I cant text my daughter who has the Droid or others that don't have iMessage users!!!

The phone number on the iPad is not active for cell voice, only for cellular data. You are not paying anything for voice or SMS (texting services) on your iPad, only for cell data. Texts to non-iOS devices would have to be SMS and use the cell voice system which is not present on your iPad.
There are apps, such as TextFree, which will assign you a virtual phone number and allow you to emulate sending SMS messages from and to your iPad.

I am having tremendous difficulty sending simple voice text messages, or typed text messages to non I-phone users. Picture text messages will not send at all and can only be sent to other i-phone users. Is anyone else haing this problem ?? Big concern

Well this is stupid - I wrote the question above and now it is telling me the message is blank - how dumb is this.
I am having tremendous difficulty sending sipmle typed texts, voice texts and picture text messages to non I- phone users.
Simple text messages are sporadic and seem to be impacted by whether I incluse a subject or not - picture texts will not go at all.
Anyone else having this problem ???

It's a corporate phone so will need to check. Will not send text messages to non I-phones if they contain a "subject" or a picture. Wierd - regular voice or typed text messages are fine.

You can send the other contacts SMS but not only one contact, Right?
Then the issue is with your contact, maybe the number is not right or not the right format.
So check your contact number with number which you can send SMS.
Maybe it is best to delete that contact and create new contact which the format is the same with the others.

I can not send text messages

this is a new problem on my g4. all of a sudden I can not send text messages when i am in my home. this happens on my s4 and my sons s4 but my daughter uses an iphone and she is not having this problem. i can receive texts, facebook, email etc I just can not send texts. Nothing in my house has changed except that Comcast just put in a new modem, I am not tech savvy at all so not even sure that would affect my out going texts
any suggestions would be great

We are on Exchange 2010 SP2 with multiple domain name. All works ok. We need to be able to use other domains while sending email. For example, i have a default reply address set for [email protected] along with other addresses i.e [email protected] etc on
policy. I am receiving emails and can reply only using [email protected] I get the following error if i try to send email from [email protected]

Looked like a workable solution but could not get it to work. I am getting NDR with permission issue. I have created the distribution group with email address. Added the user in it. Given the user Full access and SEND AS permission.
Hi, I'm not sure what issue you are running into, but you can definitely give a user Send As permission for a group and then send as the group. I just verified in my test environment.
To assign the Send As permission, the easy way it in AD User and Computers.
Enable Advanced Features from the View menu first. This allows you to see the
Security tab.
In ADUC, find the group and open the Properties.
On the Security tab, Add the user.
With the user selected in the list, Allow the Send as
permission.
There may be a bit of lag time before that begins to work as Exchange may have cached some AD permissions, but it definitely works.

i got the same....the ones tht charge u 9.99 a month. i didnt even open it nd it still charged me. i already had them blocked on all my phones through verizon sumhow it went through. so i jus called up verizon again explained wut happened nd they took it off, all the charges. so mayb jus go down to ur local verizon store and tell them u want them blocked from coming to ur phone. hope i helped u out!! good luck
