Can you set a password to prevent access to settings

Hi I have an iphone and ipad and back up all devices to icloud. I have purchased an ipad mini for both of my children and because they are young are using my apple id and password to download apps although I put the password in each time. I have turned of photo stream and imessage on their devices but want to prevent them from accessing the settings and turning them back on. They are now at that age when messaging is becoming more interesting but until they have their own account I don't want them to access my messages, especially don't want them to see some of texts my mates send me every now and again
If I can prevent them from accessing settings using a pin number this would be ideal.
Thanks in advance
Adam

Sorry, no way to do what you want.

  • IPhoto 8.1.2 how can you set a password on an event or album?

I am downloading pictures from my iphone 4 to my iphoto on my mac and I wanted to set a password on a certain group of pictures and was wondering how to do that for the iPhoto 8.1.2 version.

You can't. It's not a feature of iPhoto.
For photos you want to hide from Mommy, put them in a Library stored on an encrypted disk image.

  • HT4314 Re Game Center password:  can you set a password for Game Center that is NOT your Apple ID password?

I'm changing online passwords for email and other online applications due to hacking in my mail account.  Gaming applications are included in this process.  Currently my Game Center account password is my Apple ID password.  Can I change the Game Center account password independently, or do I have to change my Apple ID password across the board (for iTunes, Game Center, etc) ?

You reset your password the same you would for any id.

  • Help? can you set a password for opening iTunes?

    ok.
my brother goes to my iTunes account and steals my music.
    not a good thing.
    so i was wondering...
is there any way where i can set somewhat of a password so that you can only open iTunes when it's me?
    does that make sense?
i'd appreciate your help very much.
    thanks-

    oh ok.
    yep.
well he doesnt use iTunes or even an iPod.
he just likes burns CDs for himself off my library.
BUT it is posible to secure my whole iTunes or just
    the store account?
Yes, putting a password on your Windows account will prevent your brother from accessing your iTunes music at all. It will prevent him from accessing your documents or other files as well.
This assumes that your iTunes music is in its normal location in Windows, that is, in your "My Music" folder.
If securing your computer from your brother (or anyone else) is important to you, I suggest you learn how to use Windows security. There are many books and articles that can help you learn to do this.

    Hi eddinchina,
You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts.

  • Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form?

Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form?  Doesn't appear to be a property.  I don't see a programmatic method.  I saw someone suggest using goto control on the after update event trigger but what if the person
doesn't edit the field?  No event would be fired.
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
    >>Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form?
I am afraid you could not. In Web applications, the tab order is set automatically and cannot be changed.

The goto method is a workaround, but it should be triggered by a specific event. What I can figure out is changing the order of the fields.
If this is a feature you want to include in future versions of Access Web app, please submit a feedback as the picture below:

  • Can you set Face time to prompt for password on use?

Can you set Facetime to require password each time you go into the app?
    Regards,
    Buc

No. you cannot set a password for individual Apps unless said App has that feature. Apple Apps like FaceTime do not.
.  You can however use Restrictions to disable Facetime, and only enable it when you want to use it, by going back into restrictions and enabling it.
    Settings->Restrictions->Facetime (Turn Off)
You'll need to enter the set password to enable / disable it each time.

  • How can I set a password for my pictures on iPad Air ?

How can I set a password for my pictures on iPad Air ? if anyone have my iPad access mail or something I don't want anyone access my photos so how can I set it up.

You can't set a password for the Photos nor Mail apps, you can only set a passcode for your iPad as a whole (via Settings > Passcode).
There are third-party photo management apps such as Photo Manager Pro which you can copy your photos into from the Photos app (and then delete them from Photos), that app allows you (via its settings within the app) to set a password to access it.
For email you could access your email via a browser (and not have your password stored in the browser), or see if there are any email apps in your country's app store which have a password option

You can go to Settings>Messages and turn off Messages. Then go to Settings>General>Restrictions and turn on the the Restriction that prevent changing accounts.
I just verified that it works.

  • How can you bypass a password-

How can you bypass a password.  This is my son's phone and he is in trouble.  I need to access his phone.  The account is in my name.  ATT won't help.

There is no way to bypass the lock screen password. If there were it would not provide any security. It's not AT&T refusing to help; they can't, because the only place the lock code is stored is on the phone. If the phone is backed up regularly to a computer or to iCloud you can restore it as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 and then restore the backup. You will still need the Apple ID and passcode that was used to set up Find my iPhone.

  • I have an external hard drive, can I set a password on this? The drive is already populated with data

I have an external hard drive, can I set a password on this? The drive is already populated with data

ITs an old Iomega 100gb external HD that has about 90gb of music on it. The Macbook has a 500gb HD. I would like to put the iTunes library on the internal HD so I have room to expand.
    Phil0124 wrote:
You can copy it to the internal hard drive as long as it fits on it. How big is your library, and how big is your internal HD?
The only thing you do not want to do is over-stuff the internal hard drive. The OS needs some space to operate correctly, so if your iTunes library uses up more than say 80 to 85% of the internal HD's available space it may not be a good idea to transfer it over.
With that said, the internal HD will provide slightly faster access to the library than the external would, but other than that, you can point iTunes to the external drive just fine.

  • How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox

My younger sister executed my firefox just at this afternoon(she originally use IE), and she saw something that can't be seen. How can I set a password for firefox so that everyone have to enter the password before executing firefox?

Also see this for an English version of Profile Password:
    *Profile Password: http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/profilepassword-en.html#PPF
It is an extension to protect the profile with a password, but being an extension that protection can easily be bypassed by starting Firefox in [[Safe mode]].<br />
So do not rely on it.<br />
If you want to protect content then you have to use methods supported by the OS like a separate user account with a password or an encrypted file system.

  • How can I set a password on my Mac Mini so someone else cannot open it and read emails, etc.?

How can I set a password on my Mac Mini?  Someone else is reading my emails.  I would like to be able to lock it so nothing on it could be seen without a password.  Is that possible?  How?

So uncheck the automatic login after making sure you know your password and it will require a password on startup.
You can also go into the security preferences and have the machine lock itself once the screensaver is activated. This is sometimes controlled from the screensaver preferences as well.
You could also go nuts and activate multiple users where your name appears in the menu bar. When you walk away from the machine you can use that menu to take you to the "login window", effectively locking your machine.
