Secondary accounts can't use photostream or document syncing.

We both would like separate accounts to backup all our devices, for example each using our own apple ID.
Having not opened it yet I assume this is how it works ?

iOS devices back up to iTunes on the Mac.....they cannot back up directly to the Time Capsule.
When a Mac backs up to the Time Capsule using Time Machine, the backups of the iOS devices stored in iTunes will be backed up to the Time Capsule, so you could say that an iOS device like an iPhone, iPad, etc can back up indirectly to the Time Capsule
Time Machine will automatically create and keep separate backups for each Mac on the Time Capsule. Each Mac will normally only be able to "see" its own backups on the Time Capsule.
iOS devices can also back up to iCloud.

Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email. Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

You should be able to add the email account to the Mail app like you add any account.
You can also go to Settings>iClould and change the iCloud account but you can't have both account on at the same time.

You can set up a secondary iCloud account in system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars, click to add a new account, choose iCloud, click the 'create ID' button.

If the iCloud account you are trying to delete is old ID that was later updated to change it to your current ID, you can go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. go to settings and sign out his apple id in the sections i tell you:
1.game center
2.itunes and appstore
3.messages
4.icloud(delete acount;it wont realy delete it will only remove from your ipad)

Suggest you give different name to each iPad to prevent confusion.
