Can you share iBooks that you have downloaded and read

After I finish reading a book I am wondering if I can pass it to someone else who has an iPad. Can you share books

They can't be shared no, they are tied to your iTunes account - so unless the other person has access to your account they won't be able to download the ibook.
I'm not sure whether ebook stores (e.g. Kindle etc) allow you to share their ebooks
