Can you share purchased apps between a Pre and a Pre 2?

I own a Pre (Bell Mobility) and just got the Pre 2 (Rogers).  I probably intend on keeping both.
Question: can the apps that I purchased through the App Store for the Pre (using the Pre's profile and email address which are obviously different than the one on the Pre 2) be installed on the Pre 2 without having to purchase them again?
Thank you.
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102una (Rogers)

Hello bwc565 and welcome to the Palm forums.
My understanding of how the Palm App Catalog works is that purchases are tied to your Palm Profile, which is tied to an email address.  It *might* work if you were using the same device and moving a single SIM card between the devices.
However, since you are using two different phone models, and have two separate Palm profiles, I don't think you will be able to move apps from your Pre to your Pre 2 without having to repurchase them.

How can I share purchased apps between 2 diff users on the same mac?

A purchased app is associated with an Apple ID. A user with a different Apple ID cannot use the app unless they also use the same Apple ID.
I cannot use my wife's apps nor she mine because each were purchased with different Apple IDs.

I bought a Mac recently and created a new Apple ID.
The Home Sharing for my Mac is 'on'. I want to copy my purchased apps from my Home Sharing account to my Mac. However, I'm struggling to do that.
Can anyone help me out please?

  • Can you share iTunes music w/Apple TV and Airport Express?

Can you share iTunes music between Apple TV and Airport Express?
I have been very happily using 2 Airport expresses to share my itunes library from my iMac to 2 other rooms. I just bought an Apple TV for the bedroom (and I ASSUMED to replace the Airport Express), and can not figure out any possible way to have the same music in 3 rooms any more.
    Anybody have any ideas?

I think you may have misunderstood the OP, I believe they wish to be able to walk from room to room and listen to the same music over the tv and the express. itunes will send music to the tv and the express at the same time but in two different streams, so even if you chose the same music over each device it would be quite difficult to sync.

  • My husband and I each have and ipad2, can we share purchased apps, or do we have to purchase them separately

my husband and I each have and ipad2, can we share purchased apps, or do we have to purchase them separately

If you use the same iTunes account then you can put the same apps on both devices. If you have your own separate accounts then as long as both accounts are authorised on the computer that you sync from then again you can put the same apps on both devices.

  • Can you share purchased books with Home Sharing?

Can you share purchased books (from IBooks) with Home Sharing? Music seems to share fine-books seem to be a problem.

In iTunes go to Preferences > Sharing and either share your entire library or make sure the Books playlist is checked.
You may then need to click the Import button to copy the book into your Library, I was not able to actually read the book without taking that step.

How can I synchronize the app between my iPad and iPhone?

    Hi,
May i know which app in particular you are taking about.
If that is Adobe Reader you need to sign-in in Adobe Id and password and that should be it.

  • Can you share iTunes libraries between iPad and iPhone?

I know how to share libraries between my MacBook or iMac and my iPad and/or my iPhone. My question is, can you share your iTunes libraries between your iPad and iPhone only, without using a computer?  I wanted to share movies between my iPhone and iPad in Europe over wi fi so I could take more on two devices.  Does iCloud support videos?

There are no iTunes libraries on the iPad or iPhone. You have iTunes content on the devices but not libraries. The content is stored in the respective apps as you well know. AFAIK there is no way to share the content from one device to the other using any iOS feature in the current sysetm.

You don't need a computer (other than to set this hard drive and and transfer the content), but it is one more device that you have to lug around with you.

  • HT204150 can you share icloud contacts between 2 icloud accounts?

Can you share your address book/contacts between 2 icloud accounts? My wife and i have seperate icloud accounts but want to be able to update and access all the same contacts. How can we do it?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The way to achieve that would be for one of you to login to the older ones account in settings> mail, contacts, calendars on their device. They could then enable contact synchronisation in that secondary account and disable contact synchronisation in their own primary account at settings> iCloud.

  • HT1689 My wife has iTunes account on her iPad and I have iTunes account on my iPad can we share purchased apps?

So I purchased an app on my iPad but sometimes I use her iPad can I add her to my account or vice versa so that we can have the purchased apps and music on both iPads?

You can't add the app to her account, that copy is tied to yours. Do you sync to the same computer's iTunes ? If you do, and that app is on it (if it isn't then File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy it over), then you should be able to sync that app to her iPad. If you use different computers then you could copy it over and add it to her computer's iTunes library (Store > Authorise This Computer for your account and File > Add To Library to add it) and then sync it (you can find where an app is stored on your computer by right-clicking it in the Apps part of your computer's iTunes library and selecting 'show in explorer' on the pop-up, and you can then copy it to, for example, a flash-drive to copy over to her computer).
If you log into your account on her iPad (or computer's iTunes) and re-download that app then you risk tying her iPad (or computer) to your account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • Can icloud sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod?

I was wondering if the icloud can sync an app between 2 iphones and an ipod under the same ID

Yes per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4946 setup iCloud on all devices under the same account and backup to the cloud. If its two iPhones, are they both one owner? If not,it's best to not setup iCloud on a device that is not the same owner.

  • Can you share collections remotely between different computers, editors and Lightroom licenses?

I am trying to figure out an efficient way to outsource some post-production using Lightroom. I would like to share image previews that are already organized into collections (with some global adjustments) via FTP. Is there away to share a Lightroom catalogs setting between users and platforms that will retain the Lightroom settings?

I would like to share image previews
Does this mean you don't want to share the actual images, only the previews?
I don't really know any easy way to do this. I know you can use a plugin to extract the previews as JPGs and then transmit those.
Is there away to share a Lightroom catalogs setting between users and platforms that will retain the Lightroom settings?
You could write the metadata to XMP and then transmit the images and sidecar files via FTP, other Lightroom installations will be able to read the develop settings and then render the image properly (assuming you have the same major version of Lightroom on each computer, i.e. Lightroom 5.X can read Lightroom 5.X edits, but Lightroom 3 will not be able to read those edits unless you use an earlier process version)

  • Can I share purchased apps on unlimited iphones or ipods?

People say that you can authorize 5 computers but unlimited iphones or ipod touches. My question is if you just log in other peoples' iphones or ipod touches and download the already purchased app. Will the number of ipods or iphones limited? (Not going thru the step of authorizing his computer and use itunes to install)

The Terms and Conditions of the iTunes store says:
"You may download and sync a Product for personal use on any device You own or control."
Thus, you can't legally use a friends Apple ID to use his app since your iPod is not under his control.

  • Can you share a library between two non-networked PCs?

any help appreciated on this one!
I'd like to be able to keep my iTunes library on a portable hard drive.
which isn't too difficult to do - move the folder and consolidate.
then I'd like to take it with me between home and the office.
would playlists / play counts / ratings stay in sync on the external HD or is there no way to do this?
(i.e. would all the listening I'd done at work show up in the library when I plugged the disk in again at home?)
thanks in advance for your help.

If you want playlists, playcounts, rating and such to remain consistent and travel with the drive, drag the entire iTunes folder (the entire folder, not just the iTunes Music folder) to your desired location. Then on each system, connect the hard drive and hold down the Shift key while launching iTunes. You'll be given a dialog box where you can select the iTunes library you want to use. Navigate to and select the iTunes folder on the external drive.
Note: do not launch iTunes until the external drive is connected and mounted, or iTunes will automatically switch back to the default location on the internal drive. No big problem if it does, just quit iTunes and relaunch while holding down the Shift key.
    Regards.
