Can you sort by "checked"?

Is there anyway that I can sort my music library so that all my currently checked songs are together? It's getting annoying how I have to manually scroll through the list and highlight checked songs if I want to update the EQ settings, or confirm if such and such song/podcast/whatever is checked.

You can create a smart playlist of checked and unchecked songs. I did this to keep track of what songs are updated to my iPod and what isn't.
To create a smart playlist for checked songs, goto File and hit "New Smart Playlist". check "Match following rule" select "artist" "Does Not Contain" then type "123456". Uncheck "Limit To" then check both "Match only checked songs" and "Live Updating" Hit OK and then you can name the playlist Checked or checked songs whatever you wish
To create a Unchecked playlist (Only after creating your checked playlist) Select new smart playlist, Checked "Match following rule" select "Playlist" "Is Not" "Checked (Or whatever you named your checked playlist)". Uncheck the box next to both "Limit To" and "Match only checked songs" then put a check beside "Live updateing"
With this set up you will now have both sorted, and since there Live Updated, If your in the checked playlist and uncheck a song, its removed from the playlist and added to the unchecked playlist. If your in the unchecked playlist and check a song the reverse happens

I have recently got an album that was released in 2007, so the year in my library is 2007, however all the music on that album is from the 80s.
So can you tag with 2 years, ie Album release date and song release (original date) or can you sort the album to show its songs from the 80s.

ahh, was hoping it may have had a "overall" year or album year release date.
Man that means I gotta tag a lot of my music with the correct year now then, as the compilation albums I got all tagged form web with year released

The collection changes a little by the criteria you use to view the books, and you can view them by Title, Author, and Category. So, yes, you can.
The default view is Book view. On the upper right part of the page, you'll see four white blocks - that's the icon for book view. The icon on the right has three white lines; that's where you find Title, Author, and Category view. You can't create folders in any view.

How can you sort without adding all the music to iTunes?

I'm an older person and I don't get it. At first I just had a shuffle and I downloaded specific songs into iTunes that I liked. Then I upgraded. I loaded a whole bunch of cd's into various libraries at various times on an external hard drive. Now, I have a ton of music and would love an easy way to organize it! There are lots of duplicates and lots of songs I just don't like. The trouble is, I haven't figured out how to just see a list of all the songs and sort and delete from the list. I have to open a library and then I get a bunch of file folders of an album or two. Then I have to open the album to see the songs. If I forget what the song sounds like and I click on it to play it, the album goes automatically into iTunes. I don't have enough room on my pc for all that music to go right into iTunes. Do you get my question?? Can you help me?

When you play a song with iTunes, it automatically gets added to the library, as you noticed.
If you just want to play the song so you can decide whether to keep or delete it, use another player. You may already have Windows Media Player on your machine. If not you can download Winamp.
When you are done sorting, add the ones you want into your iTunes library

Can you sort layers by file size?

I'm working on a catalog, not my own, that was set up with all the layout done in Photoshop then placed in ID for copy and a few rasters (barcodes, mostly) to be placed in ID. Without getting into a conversation about how this is actually supposed to be accomplished, I have run into a problem.
The .psd is hitting the 2GB limit for file size and can only be saved as a .psb. .psb can not be placed in ID.
I would like to reduce the size of the .psd. Is there a way to figure out where the bloat is? I know that there are some fat smart objects that could be rasterized, but I don't know which ones are the most chubby. Can I sort layers by file size or determine the size of a layer without drilling into every smart object?

I don't know of a way offhand except to export the layers as files and observe the file sizes.
Photoshop Help | Saving images File menu > Scripts > Export Layers to Files.
Maybe even faster would be to save the PSD as a Layered tiff. Tiffs have an upper limit of 4 GB.
"Save as" would allow you to keep the PSD as a backup and InDesign should recognize tiffs.

Can you sort in a table?

I am working on a massive table of all files on my computer to "clean things up." Can I sort in a table in InDesign (CS4) OR Should I have done this in Excel??? OR is it easy enough to export all info without too much fuss to Excel if sorting in a table is not an option in InDesign.

By the way, sorting tasks in Outlook Mac 2011 is too simple, just click on
“Tasks” from the bottom of “Navigation Pane” and accomplish sorting according the requirement.

Maintenance View - Can you sort/Filter? How to create z transaction for it?

Hi,
I will be creating a maintenance view that will be used several times at the end of every month, eventually storing more than 500 entries.
Is there anyway for the user to be able to sort/filter the maintenance view by field? This would be helpful, since they would like to see what similar records are stored before adding others.
What are my options?
Also, how do you create a transaction code to go straight to the maintenance view instead of having to go through SM30?

Option1:
We canu2019t give the sort button (as we give in the nomal reports). But if you know like - based on what field user want to see the sorted output(lets say field MATNR)? then we can create an Event for the table maintainance generator using SE11 and write the code. In this code we sort the output that will be displayed in SM30 as per the requirement.
Also, how do you create a transaction code to go straight to the maintenance view instead of having to go through SM30?.
Go-to SE93 and choose the option u201Ctransaction with parametersu201D and give the t.code as SM30 and Check Skip initial screen.

Correct, the presence or absence of a checkmark is not a sortable item.
However, if you want to separate checked from unchecked songs, it can be used as a criterion in a Smart Playlist. In the Smart Playlist rules, use the box for "Match only checked items."

How can you sort by number of dowloads or rating in iTunes app store?

Is there a way to get iTunes - including the app store to give a view that you can sort by ration or number of downloads.
I assume they would have this since they are all about ease-of use.
