Hi. When I "see" my library from the old computer, the import button is grayed out, and it will not allow me to drag anything to my HD on the new computer.
If you're using "Home Sharing" then I don't think you can modify the library from the client computer. That said I've never used the feature.
What I was suggesting earlier was the solution I use to keep a "single" library running on both my home & work PC's. I use a (windows) tool called SyncToy to compare the library on my local hard drive & the portable, this then updates just the changed files. Each time I add something at home I can update the portable, then later at work I can sync the changes before starting iTunes and have access to the latest content. This leaves me free to update my iPhone at either location and also ensures there are three copies of my library for security.
If both computers are on the same network you should be able to place the library on a share and open the one library from either computer, though not both at the same time. It certainly works that way on a PC.
Alternatively syncOtunes may be what you're after...

    Hey lindsay146,
Home Sharing lets you to stream or transfer music, movies, and more with up to five authorized computers in your household. You can learn more about it in this link:

  • Can't sync bookmarksn between (desktop) computers

Hello, I am using Firefox4 Beta 11, now there is a problem that I can't sync bookmarks between my windows 7 desktop computers.
First, I install Firefox 4 in my new computer (windows7) and set up Firefox Sync normally. It's OK because I can access bookmarks in my ipod touch via "Firefox Home" App.
Then, after I installed( updated) Firefox 4 on an another old windows 7 computer which had been running Firefox 3.6 before and set up Firefox Sync successfully. However, I can't see bookmarks of my new computer, there are only items in bookmarks which I added before locally in Firefox 3.6
The history seems to be correctly synced.
I have clicked "sync now" menu item many times but things remain.

I had a similar issue. Seems "groups" can cause an issue with syncing, at least between leopard and Tiger.
    Apple's response:
I am sorry to hear that you are having an issue with iCal syncing.
Please follow the steps in this article:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n307052
If those steps don't resolve the issue, and if your calendar has groups, calendar-syncing may not work for you. Please keep an eye on that article for more information.

  • Can you share apps between accounts when using the same PC

My wife and I have always shared my account. made it easy to purchase and share. Howeever, with iCloud etc its becoming increasingly obvious that seperate accounts might be needed.
Can you share apps you purchase through differnt accounts when your using the same computer?
I now you can with music.

    Yes.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
You can figure out using it with another machine from that too

  • Silly question, but can you share apps between family members (iPhone)?

My wife has just purchased an iPhone awaiting del.
    Question

EDIT: It seems Apple have changed the AppStore Terms and Conditions since I last read them thoroughly.
    Here's the relevant sections:
If you are an individual acting in your personal capacity, you may download and sync an App Store Product for personal, noncommercial use on any iOS Device you own or control.
You may auto-download iTunes Auto-Delivery Content or download previously-purchased iTunes Eligible Content from an Account on up to 10 Associated Devices, provided no more than 5 are iTunes-authorized computers.
(ii) An Associated Device can be associated with only one Account at any given time.
(iii) You may switch an Associated Device to a different Account only once every 90 days.
(iv) You may download previously-purchased free content onto an unlimited number of devices while it is free on the iTunes Service, but on no more than 5 iTunes-authorized computers.

  • How can I sync Bridge between multiple computers at work with keywords/collections/search?

We've been trying to find a digital asset management platform at work for a while now and I recently came across Bridge (we have the Creative Cloud). It's perfect! Except we're all on a bunch of different computers and would need to be able to search the same keywords/collections all from the same server (the photos are in many different folders though). Is there a way to be able to sync all keywords etc on multiple computers? Or if someone opens Bridge and can search right away without having to make all the keywords persistent by finding each photo and clicking on it? We're all on the same Creative Cloud team.

I actually did already create a book with all the files in it, but I couldn't figure out how that was helpful. The hyperlink panel doesn't seem to have any "book" options (unless I'm looking in the wrong place?) and just linking to the different files (after creating the book) didn't have any different results than linking to the files before I created the book.
I thought maybe linking to the different files in the book would work if I could export the whole book to pdf at once (which would be super-helpful in and of itself), but that doesn't seem to be an option either.
I guess what I'm asking is for you to elaborate on what to do after creating the book.
    Thanks!

  • Can you transfer apps between accounts?

    the title says the question

Apps are permanently tied to the account they are purchased with.
It is possible to share apps with others.  Simply copy the app from one computer to another, then authorize the new computer with the appropriate Apple ID and finally sync the app to the device(s).

  • Can you sync calendar between iPod and iPad

Is it possible to sync Calendar, Contacts and Notes between an iPod and iPad, without having to use a third party method?
I have both and would like to be able to keep these synced as there are times when it is more useful to use the alternative device.

Use iCloud with the same Apple ID.
    Settings > iCloud.

  • How do you sync apps between iPhone and ipad ?

If I buy an app for my iPhone why doesn't it show up on my iPad

There are some apps that are not compatible. Some are device specific. the ones that are universal are ones with a little plus beside the download button.
If it is a universal app that won't automatically cross go into your settings. Scroll down to iTunes an App Store and there's a setting for automatic downloads. Enable that for apps and compatible apps should download on the devices.

  • Can you sync thunderbird email between several computers so if you delete an email on one computer in thunderbird it also deletes it out of the other computers.

Can you sync thunderbird email between several computers so if you delete an email on one computer in thunderbird it also deletes it out of the other computers it syncs with? I have three computers I use daily in different location and have thunderbird on each computer. I find it time consuming to have to repeatedly delete the same emails from each location. I am thinking that by leaving the emails on the server and not downloading them in each computer would solve this. Is my assumption here correct? If not? How would you set up Tbird to sync?

If you set up your email account(s) as IMAP instead of POP3, then each computer / smart phone can view the mail, but if any of them delete a message (or move it to another folder on the server), the same action will be seen on the other computers.
