Can you sync calendar to pc outlook and music to mac

I sync my iPhone at work to my calendar in Outlook on a PC. I want to get my music from my Imac at home onto the phone. When I connect iPhone to the imac and say I want to sync my music, the message says it will erase any other libraries on the phone, does this mean music libraries or will it mess with my calendar, contacts etc.

you can cannot sync the outlook and palm desktop at the time
you can actually sync to outlook and set the contacts to "do nothing"
then sync back to palm desktop and set any conduits to "do nothing" if you dont want them to be transfered
how to change conduit?
open the palm desktop and on the left portion click on 'hotsync' and go to 'custom'
highlight the conduit you want to change like 'calendar' or 'calendar outlook' then click on 'change'
then choose the action you want

Can you sync calendar and contacts over the air to...

I'm considering getting an E71 or E63, but apart from email I really want to be able to sync calendar (and contacts)over the air, not just from to/from Outlook on my PC - is this possible ? It's not really explained clearly in any of the specs and doco I've been reading.
Also, if I receive a calendar invitation as email, will it appear on the Nokia and can I accept it, and is it written to the calendar locally and at the POP server, or is this kind of behaviour only supported by Windows Mobile devices?

POP (post-office protocol) is only for email retrieval (and SMTP, simple message transfer protocol, for sending).
If you want to sync calendar/contacts, then it is done over SyncML (synchronization markup language).
Also "proprietary" synchronization protocols, like Microsoft's ActiveSync allows message/contacts/calendar/tasks synchronization.
Nokia supports ActiveSync over-the-air through the Mail for Exchange software.

Can you sync a previously purchased song and make it a ringtone?

There are many songs I purchased that can now be used as a ringtone. Can somoeone tell me whether I can use these songs and, if so, how do I sync them to my iPhone and edit them for a ringtone? I tried to click and drag a song into the "Ringtones" folder, but that did not work. ALSO, if you tell me I have to purchase the song AGAIN, what if the song is an ALBUM CUT? Thanks!!

The same thing happened to me. I clicked on ADVANCED (or if not Advanced check the other options up there-but I believe it was the advanced folder) at the top of the iTunes screen and clicked on *"authorize this computer"* and all I had to do was re-type my password and voila. My computer was "authorized".

We have a iMac and love it. I am primarily a PC user at work and am used to a windows mobile device that syncs Contacts, Calendar, & tasks over the internet.
As stated we have the iMac. I also have the .Mac account which currently publishes our calendar to a read only web site.
Here's the Q's I have as a perspective buyer:

No. The iPhone does not support any Over the Air (OTA) syncing at this time. With the 2.0 release in June the iPhone will support OTA syncing with Exchange servers.

ONLY the carrier to which it is locked can unlock it.
If it was unlocked any other way, then it will likely lock after update.

How To or Can You Sync from the Apple Tv and Not I tunes???

Ok so Apple is not fixing the problem with the Apple Tv staying in the device list of I-Tunes...not happy about it but whatever. So does anyone know if you can reestablish communication from the Apple Tv, so you do not have to keep going to the computer somewhere else in the house to do it???
Any idea on how to make it appear again in the device list without having to quit i-tunes and re start it on the computer itself, can it be done remotely from the Apple Tv??
Any idea on if having an I-Pod touch controlling it via the network instead of the Apple Tv remote would help out if nothing can be done with the regular remote for the Apple Tv?

I have not tried these things yet, but have seen others who have and none of it worked. But the question is can any of those things prevent I-tunes from dropping the Apple TV from the device list. It did not matter if the Apple Tv was hard wired or not, the wireless strength is very strong and I can still access i-tunes via the network I just can not play my own movies. I do not think I can fix the problem I think Apple has a larger issue with this. I'm not the only one with this problem and see no fixes. So I'm just trying to find a work around from someone who knows more than me, until Apple fixes it...

I could sync my work calendar with phone calendar. My employer used office 2010 Outlook. Not sure if that is the reason or is it something in my settings etc.
I'd appreciate any advice or tips on how to do this.

My husband and I wish to sync our apple calendars. Is it possible to do so? We have 2 separate apple Id's. Tried google but seems to sync from google to Iphone calendar but not the other way. I much prefer apples calendar because of the functions available but my husband and I need to see one another's schedules. Any help out there ? You each need an iCloud account and to sync your iCal calendars with iCloud. Then you can each share a calendar or calendars privately, so only available to the other, who would be able to edit it, or not, depending on your settings. Please see this page:
