Can you take pictures while having your flash light on, instead of using your camera's flash?

Hello I have a 5s and want to know if you can take pictures while having your flash light on, instead of using your camera's flash? Having a constant light seems like a better way to take pictures. If this is possible how? Do I need certain apps? or just adjust settings? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Pat

The Flashlight uses the camera flash as its source of light. You are in fact using the flahslight when you take a picture with flash because they use the same light source.
The Flash is timed to light the picture when the camera snaps the photo.

iMovie is an app that edits video.
I am guessing you are talking about just playing a video in Quicktime?
To do a screen grab on a Mac press Command+Shift+3
This will save the image to the desktop.

it had to do with Maverick/Aperture not supporting the same date formats as before in Smart Albums when I upgraded.
Smart albums based on dates have always been problematic, if you use smart settings that require a date string to be entered. How the date string will be interpreted, will depend on your settings in the System Preferences > Language&Text > Advanced > Dates formats and the "Region".
It is much safer to use "Calendar" rules in Aperture instead of "Date" rules with date-strings. Calendar rules will remain valid, if the region settings are changed in the System preferences.

What do you mean by storage quota, does that mean i could be photo streaming about 1gb of photos and it does not get taken away from my free 5bg.

Icloud storage has nothing at all to do with the storage on your iphone.
Icoud storage is on a server somwewhere, not on your iphone.

The camera connection kit accepts only SD camera memory cards.
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

It is a video camera, you cannot just take stills with it. Once you get the video onto your computer, you can use software to just capture a frame of the video if you like.

If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Third-party cases can interfere with the autofocus/exposure feature and the flash; try removing the case if you have image-quality issues with photos.
Try turning the iPad off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try switching between the front and the back cameras to verify if the issue persists on both.

You take pictures with a digital camera. You can then transfer them from the camera into iPhoto. However, iPhoto is not a camera application. It is merely a cataloging application.
You computer does have a built-in iSight camera that is located on the top of the screen in the middle. You can take snapshots and simple videos using the PhotoBooth application in your Applications folder. Open PhotoBooth and select PhotoBooth Help from the Help menu for assistance.
You might want to visit Apple's web site and look for the tutorials on using different parts of the operating system and hardware or visit your local bookstore or Amazon.com and purchase some basic Mac instructional books such as OS X for Dummies, The Mac OS X Bible, OS X: The Missing Manual, etc.

What do you mean, 'downloaded'? Take pictures where? Are you saying that you have an iPhone or iPad and you don't have enough memory for any more pictures? Adding the 10GB won't have any effect - it's extra space on the iCloud server for Documents, email, Contacts, Calendars and iPhone backup. You can't increase the memory on an iPad or iPhone by any means. If this isn't your issue please clarify what you mean.

Well, you didn't give any information on your Mac, your OS version, transfer pics from where to where, or anything else, so guessing is the best anyone can do at this point: you should be able to simply using drag and drop.
