  • How can I move Camera Roll photos from my old iPhone 3G to my new iPhone 4?

    Hi,
I have just got my new iPhone 4 and I'm very happy with it, really a great step-up from my old 3G. I do have one question though, in my old iPhone 3G I have about 300 photos in the camera and I would like to export them and then import them to the camera roll in my new iPhone 4...is this possible?
Thanks in advance for your input guys!
    //Richard

Only if you restore your new phone from the backup of your old phone. Camera roll photos are included in your iphone backup. However, its not wise to keep photos in your camera roll. They should be imported to your computer on a regular basis. From there, you can then sync them back to your phone, but not back to your camera roll.

You should call Apple Support and give them your Apple ID so that they can verify how many photos you actually do have backed up in iCloud...
Also, are you able to do an iTunes backup at all? Because that would save all of the photos and allow you to get them onto the new device.

  • HT1296 How can I transfer all my photos from my Ipad Mini to my new MacBook Pro

How can I transfer all my photos from my Ipad Mini to my new MacBook Pro
I am facing problem while I connect to my iPad mini with MacBook Pro , it only sync photo from its taken by and from it camera roll only. It doesn't sync all the images... Like my all albums. All photos in library....

To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.
You should also be able to copy albums that you've created directly on the iPad via apps such as Simple Transfer (though I haven't tried it)

  • I have a new iPhone 5S, how can I get my photostream photos from my previous phone(iPhone 4S) to my new one.

I have a new iPhone 5S, how can I get my photostream photos from my previous phone(iPhone 4S) to my new one.

Setting up iCloud with the same account data and switching on Photostream should do the trick:
I see different photos in My Photo Stream on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they are older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so all devices may not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream.
If you prefer to have only the most current photos in My Photo Stream on each of your devices, and delete the older photos:
If there are any photos in My Photo Stream that you want to keep, save them to your Camera Roll, then back up your Camera Roll and other data using iCloud or iTunes.
Turn My Photo Stream off in Settings > iCloud > Photos (on a device using iOS 6, go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream). Confirm that you wish to Delete Photos.
Turn My Photo Stream back on. iCloud will automatically push your stored photos to your device.
Repeat these steps for each device.

  • Can I get Camera Roll photos onto my iPad?

In addition to dealing with that annoying optimizing/syncing over 6,000 photos everytime I sync my iPad with my iTunes, I find that none of the Camera Roll photos from the iPhone that I also sync with the same iTunes comes over.
When I moved from my iPhone 3 to my iPhone 4, (and when I lost an iPhone 3 and got a replacement), the backup/restore feature worked flawlessly, so I know that a copy of my iPhone photos are on my computer.
How can I get them over to my iPad?
(Also, does anyone know an easy way to convert them to jpg and where, specifically, do they live in the iPod Photo Cache folder???)
    Thanks!
    Randy

The iPod Photo Cache folder is just a temporary folder used for sync. You can delete it and it will be recreated next time you sync.
"When you use iTunes to sync photos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod, iTunes creates a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" in the top level of the folder you selected for your photos. Picking another folder to sync does not erase the previous iPod Photo Cache folder. Depending on how many photos are being synced, your hard drive could fill up."

How have you transfered you iPhone photos to your iPad? The photos I take with my 4G iPod Touch are jpgs when synced to my computer. You need to place your iPhone photo is a single folder and place that folder in the folder you use to sync your photos.

    Thanks Tgara.
Its funny. So far the responses have been 50/50 on this question. I even asked two seperate Apple Store employees here in NYC, and got two different answers! One said yes, the other no.
    Argh!
I know from watching the keynote speech about icloud and iOS 5 that you will be able to cut the cord between the pc and ios devices like the ipad. No more need to sync them via a cord. So will that mean i would then be able to load video directly to the ipad via tha cam kit connector from my ipod? Also i wonder if/when Apple will allow HD video from on Apple devices like a canon dslr to be able to transfer to the ipad via the cam kit connector AND be able to EDIT that footage in imovie for the ipad. Speaking of imovie for the ipad...i hope it gets an update soon as well.
Anyway....with the macbook airs getting updated next week with thunderbolt and new sandy bridge chips....i may just get one of them instead of the ipad 2 for editing video on the road. Still...i prefer surfing the web experience on the ipad. Grrrrrrr. **** youuuuuuu Apple!!! Lol

  • My iPad mini, can only access camera roll photos. When posting on facebook. I can not access shared photos from my apple devices.

problem with iPad mini and iPhone 5c and Facebook app. I can only access camera roll, when posting photos, I can not see shared photos. Which I could before the previous 3 updates. I did speak to Apple support but they said Facebook was behind. i think over 6 months later I still have the same problem!

Thank you. Do you have any idea about the 5c, which is only 2 weeks old. Before this I had an iPhone 4, and you could choose which collection you wanted to post from,
but my 5c is also only showing camera roll, pehich is rather annoying to say the least!

  • How to copy non-camera roll photos from iphone

    Hi
I have several hundred photos on iphone that I've lost on my laptop after hard drive failure. Apple store helped to copy camera roll photos to CD but can't help with the others. I REALLY want to get copies of these, even if they're not quite top resolution.
Any suggestions about ways to copy photo folders off iphone? Battery problems mean I ned to do this quickly so iphone can be wiped for testing/software reinstallment.
    Many thanks
    Sue

    Sue,
When you plug your phone into your Windows computer Windows should prompt you what application do you want to use to import the photos from your "digital camera" that you just plugged into your computer. It will display a list of compatible applications. Pick one, when it opens it should show the photos on the phone/camera and allow you to import them. Hope this helps!

  • How can I transfer all my photos from mb aperture file to a external hdd?

The problem is it is taking too much of my internal memory therefore I want to transfer all my photos from mb to external. can somebody help me???

    More complete explanation:
First make a Vault to an external drive as backup.
    Then from within Aperture:
    File Menu--> Relocate Masters.
Next back up the  drive that the Masters were relocated to, because now you have a Referenced Masters Library so Masters are backed up (once) separately from the Library Vault backups.
In the future back up originals (once) on external drives prior to import into Aperture or any other images app. I cannot overstate how important that is, and various manuals, texts, etc. present workflows that skip that critical step. Also back up the Aperture Library using Aperture's Vaults, which are designed for that purpose.
A complete Referenced-Masters workflow follows. Note that for image security reasons Aperture is not involved until the end of the process:
    • Create a folder ("abc") for the incoming images. Easiest is to create the folder on the external hard drive where the Masters will permanently live, but Referenced Masters can be temporarily on the laptop's internal drive, then moved later as described above. I initially put Masters referenced on my MBP internal drive, then after backup and editing I use File Menu--> Relocate Masters to move the Masters to a permanent external drive location.
    • Connect a card reader with the camera card in it. The camera card should show on the desktop. If it does not show, restart the Mac with the reader and card still plugged in. You can of course use the camera directly in this step, but I do not recommend it. Obviously cameras like the iPad2 do require direct camera-to-computer uploading.
    • Drag the contents of the card's image folder(s) to the abc folder that you previously created on the hard drive.
    • Review the abc folder contents to be sure they all copied properly.
    • Software-eject the camera card.
    • Physically disconnect the camera card reader from the Mac. This step is important to help avoid all-too-common human error.
    • Again review the abc folder contents to be sure they are indeed all there (because stuff happens sometimes...).
    • Back up the abc folder contents on to another drive.
    • Review the files on the backup to be sure they all copied properly.
    • At any time after but not before the previous step you can reformat the camera card in-camera. Do not delete images on the card using the computer.
    • Start Aperture.
    • Import the images from folder abc into Aperture, selecting "Store Files: In their current location" on the right-hand side of the import window (important!).

  • How can i transfer all my photos from iMac iPhoto Library to macbook pro to iPhoto or Adobe Lightroom 5

Just bought a 13.3" Macbook Pro Retina display Mid 2014 and would like to transfer all my Photos from my iMac to my Macbook Pro.
I have a thunderbolt cable ?????? Would it work if i connect them together and how ? If i can get some assistance and instructions on how to do it , Will be appreciated .
    Best regards
    Sam

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
    If you're moving to Lightroom:
You need to export the images from iPhoto to the Finder, then import them to your Lightroom Catalogue.

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

The iPad runs a completely different operating system from a Windows or Mac (even though they're both made by Apple) - it's called iOS. The only apps that you can run on it are those you can purchase from the App Store (you can get free ones there as well). Some programs have both computer and iOS versions, but they are separate pieces of software.
