Can you transfer everything on itunes on another computer to another

i have my old itunes with a lot of stuff on my home computer but i want to get all of it on my labtop can I do that?

Choose Consolidate Library from the Advanced menu or the Library section of the File menu in iTunes, find the iTunes library location from the iTunes preferences, and move the folder to the new computer using any method necessary, such as an external drive, optical disks, or a network connection.

  • Can you transfer all your content from one computer to another?

We have a slower computer and a faster one and all our music and apps are on the slower one.  Is there any way to transfer all our stuff from one to the other?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

  • Can you transfer everything from your ipod to a new computer, not just itunes purchases

Can you transfer all of your info from the ipod back to the computer?  My computer crashed and I cannot get to the back up to transfer to my new computer.  I have only been able to transfer itunes purchases.

  • How do I transfer music in iTunes from one computer to another computer?

I have an iTunes Library full of music in a laptop with Windows and I want to transfer it to my desktop computer, a Dell with Windows. I've heard you can import songs from your iPod that you got from one computer to another, I'd also like to know how to do that, because I think that might be the only way.

You can use your iPod as a hard drive and move the ITunes folder:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
There is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
Alternatively you can network the two computers:

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation, can you use without downloading iTunes to your computer

My son got an iPod Touch for Christmas.  When charged and turned on, it only shows a picture of a cord and the iTunes logo.  We've been trying to download iTunes to my computer (asked question over at iTunes forum as keep receiving 'iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application' error and will not download, dial up, Toast, IE9) and can not get it done.  I have been told there is no disc that can be sent to me to start iTunes on my computer.  We've taken the iPod to a local WiFi spot but the screen will not change.  (And could not download at the local WiFi spot iTunes to my computer either.)
Is there anyway to start this iPod Touch without having iTunes downloaded to your computer?  This was not mentioned anywhere when I bought the iPod for Christmas and we are very upset that he has been unable to even use his present.  No one in my community knows how to fix this, no one has WiFi and the local WiFi spot, I have already sat there for 6 hours trying to get this done and keep getting this error.
We are very disgusted with the whole business and have gone out and bought him something of his choosing and are about ready to nix the whole business with iPods, iPads and anything 'i' related between myself, my family, and my whole community because we feel its wrong to have something that can't be used unless you have faster than dial up service.  What's the point of getting anything from Apple if you can't use it do to the area you live in not having reception or satelite service?  It still boggles my mind that they can't send me a disc to correct this.
Can someone give me some suggestions on how to get his iPod working since we can't get iTunes downloaded to anyone's computer out where I live?

If you're getting the "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application" error, it likely means that you may have tried to download the 64bit iTunes Setup exe (application).  You mentioned you couldn't download because you have dialup, However, even with dialup you should be able to download iTunes.  You can go to the following apple site and scroll down and click on the Windows 32 bit version of iTunes.  On dialup it will take a while to download, but it can be done.  See if this helps.

  • Can you move Bridge's keywords from one computer to another?

I posted this question once before without getting an answer, but let me take another stab at it...
I realized I made not have made it clear that its not the keywords assigned to images that I am trying to move or copy, those are written to the metadata and travel with the images. Very cool.
My problem is 2 copies of Bridge, one on a laptop in the field and one at the desktop. If you et up an organized list of keyword sets and their keywords on one computer how do you get that system to the other computer? This is a large Achilles' heel for Bridge and I am trying to find a way to fix it.

    Where are Bridge's keywords stored?

    Beverly,
As a cautionary note, I absolutely and utterly detest and despise iPhoto.
Having gotten that out of the way, in Bridge you don't have to deal with libraries or albums, and you don't need to
"import" anything. If the Finder can see it, so can Bridge--in the same place.
You can use either the Finder
    or
Bridge to move and organize your files any way you want, and the files will be visible to both applications.
iPhoto hides your imported photos in packages the Finder and other applications can't access. Neither can iPhoto see or find photos you haven't "imported" into its libraries.
Bridge can see, browse and hand to other applications all kinds of files, not just photos, like PDFs, Illustrator file, MS Word files, text clippings, picture clippings, whatever.
Read the manual, the help files, the video tutorials accessible through Bridge home on your machine, etc. You can also google
    Adobe Bridge Tutorials.

  • Can you copy Modern-app settings from one computer to another?

Has anyone tried copying settings of Modern apps from one computer to another?
Example: let's say that I wanted to copy the settings from the Photos app on one computer to a thousand other computers.  Would this work?  Are settings for Modern apps in a format that can be easily copied?

Thank you! It's so obvious now that I've given it some thought (hindsight is 20/20, right?) Wish the Apple tech at the store had thought of it before I was sent on my merry way and was under the impression I had what I needed.
Def appreciate the quick answer from you tho'

I have an iriver for which I want to load music and leave it at work. how can I copy musci to that device?

You can't. The iPod software is for iPod's only. Makes sense. Whatever software you use with your iRiver, use that.

  • How do I transfer everything on itunes from my computer to an external hard drive? I have windows 7

I'm trying to transfer the entire program over to my external hard drive from the computer, but I'm not sure exactly how to. I have Windows 7.  I'm trying to make it run on the external hard drive just as easy and automatically update still. How do I do that?

Organize the library from within iTunes, right-click any song, show it in the Windows Explorer, quit iTunes, go into the Windows Explorer, navigate up to the iTunes folder, drag that to the external drive, launch iTunes with the Shift key hald down, and point it to that instance of the library.
