Hi There
You can only transfer purchased music from your iPod to iTunes using iTunes. However there are third party utilities that you can use to retrieve your music, just do a google search or have a look on http://www.versiontracker.com
Hope this helps

i had my ipod synced to one computer. Then that computer died. i want to add more music from another computer, but i dont want to lose my music now. how can i do this?
No. Music only syncs one way - computer to iPod. You would need to use a third-party utility to transfer music from the iPod to the iTunes Library such as Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac

I got a new itunes account on my new computer. My ipod has all the music from my previous account. I would like to transfer the music from my ipod to my new account. Is this possible?
Hello hevcheer,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
You can sync purchases from a ipod to computer.

Purchases cannot be transferred from account to account.
Best of luck,

Why is it not in itunes?
It should always be in itunes and included in your regular backup of your computer. -

Hello, how can I transfer the music from my Ipod to the Itunes on my desktop?
As known my system crashed recently, so I have had to install everything again also Itunes.
Earlier all my music CD's were installed in the Itunes library, of course I did loose everything exept my purchases from the Itune store.
luckely all de music was also set on my Ipod. How can I export the music library from Ipod to my imac without performing a syncronisation which would make me loose the music tunes from my Ipod Touch.
thank you for helping me outUnfortunately, iTunes doesn't give you the options to transfer non-purchased songs in the iTunes Store from an iPod to the iTunes library, so you have to use a third-party app.
One of the best apps you can use is Senuti, and it's the one I prefer > http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ You can find more in Internet -

Can I transfer my music from my iPod Touch to my iTunes library?
So my computer (and my backup external hard drive) was stolen. With it went all my music. Most of this music was ripped from CD, and I don't have the CDs anymore, so the music is just gone. I still have my whole library on my iPod Touch 4G, so I was hoping there is a good way to transfer my music from the iPod to the new iTunes. The iPod is jailbroken, but I would prefer to use a "legit" method instead of some jailbreak hack. Does anyone know of a good way to transfer my library?
Thanks!Oh, never mind...figured out what I needed to know elsewhere. Should have done more research first!

How to transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one
How can I transfer the music from an Ipod touch to another one
Assuming you synced the contents to the first iPod Touch, you just plug the second iPod Touch into the same instance of iTunes and select to sync the music. If your original iTunes library is on a hard drive which has failed, then restore that from your backup and follow the above procedures.

I'm looking to buy and iPod shuffle, can I transfer the music from my iPad? I do not have a computer, only iPad 4 generation Thanks
iPods (except for iPod touch) require a computer (Mac or PC) running iTunes to sync content.

my hard drive with all my actual music files died. how can I transfer the music on my ipod classic to another drive?
If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. Here is a guide about how to copy iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help. -
CAN I TRANSFER MY MUSIC FROM MY IPOD NANO TO MY MACBOOK PRO
can i transfer my music from my ipod nano to my macbook pro.
Yes, you can. If your music collection was purchased from iTunes, you are in a good shape since that music is forever yours under your iTunes account. Therefore, after installing iTunes on your new computer, sign into your account and see all your music under "Purchsed". Then simply download it to be phisically present onto your macbook pro (for free since you've already paid for it).
On the other hand if you happens to not be a sucker to waist money on iTunes and your collection was ripped from the internet (via torrents and such), you can follow this guide to transfer ipod music to mac. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help. -
my hardrive randomly crashed not too long ago.
So I had it replaced.
I have been trying to transfer my music from my ipod back into my itunes and having
no luck. I tried deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer which now I am wondering
is NOW my problem because my computer is saying that my ipod doesn't belong
to this computer!!!!!!
SO, Help, Please!?!?
EMtry this:
1) authorize iTunes for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.
