What program did you use to fix the internal hard drive? What repairs did it report making? More crucially, if repairs were reported, did you re-run the utility until it reported no problems found? It's possible for one set of problems with a drive to mask others.
If you have about 5GB or so free space on the internal hard drive, you can use your OS X Install disc to perform an Archive and Install to recover from the failed Software Update. When the computer restarts, download and run the OS X Update Combo 10.4.11 (Universal). When the Mac restarts after that, run Software Update. During all this, make sure nothing interrupts or shuts down the Mac! Note that the first start after each of these updates will take significantly longer than subsequent starts, so be very patient.
How did you back up your internal drive to the external one? Did you just drag things over in the Finder, or did you use a utility such as SuperDuper! or CarbonCopyCloner? Does the external HD show up as a bootable volume in System Preferences > Startup Disk, or using Startup Manager?

How can you change your Apple ID to a new email address?

My old email was deleted and I used this as my Apple ID. I now have a new one and can't change my Apple ID on my phone and iPad, (Under 'icloud' in settings). However I have been able to change it in iTunes & App Store.
I also tried deleting the account and re doing it in my new one but it asks for the password due to find iPhone being on, and it won't do it. (I remember my old password)
Please help!

1) Did you change that old email address to your current email address to be your current Apple ID? If so, try to enter your current password for your current Apple ID/iCloud account. If it doesn't work, try #2.
2) If you don't have access to your old email account. Same process, go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in your current iCloud/Apple ID then edit it to your old email address then Save the changes. DON'T sign out yet. Go back to your iOS device then delete your iCloud account. Once deleted, go back to the Apple ID website and rename it back to your current email address. You have to verify it this time and you will be able to since you have access to that email address.
3) If your answer to #1 is NO, contact Apple Support (Account Security Team) to help you reset its password but you need to have another email address available which is not yet an Apple ID to send the password reset email.

Please note. You may find two accounts for that email because earlier today, in an effort to retrieve the account, I thought that by recreating the account, just a couple of days after that it would prompt me to let me know I recently had an account in that name (since I could not find an answer in the forum, I was grasping at straws).
So the [email protected] account that I deleted a couple of days ago had been in use since about May of 2012. She is in college and was using this email for personal and was receiving and sending important class work from that address. I hope we can recover it.

Deleting Emails on BBQ10 also deletes email on server

My past BB's allowed me to delete emails off my phone, but the emails were left on my email server, therefore allowing me to retreive these emails on my laptop later in the day or the next day. My Q10 seems to be deleting the emails from the server as well, and I cannot find a setting that provides the option. Help!

Yes, this a known and often reported feature request. I'd expect it to be added back eventually.
Meanwhile if you are on an IMAP email server you can file messages from your #Q10 and have them available on your server but not viewable on our device once you've set your Hub settings to hide filed messages.

Iphone 5s pop email account will not delete emails

I cannot get my new iPhone 5s to keep deleted emails out of my Inbox. The e-mail account is a POP email account. They keep coming back into the Inbox after I move them to the Trash.
Please help! This is very frustrating.

No. Purchases made on each account are permanently tied to a unique email address and cannot be changed, and accounts cannot be merged. I think you can add an alternate email address for correspondence if/when you can no longer access email at the original address. See HE68: Apple ID: Associating and verifying email addresses with your Apple ID for more information.

I deal with many customers with my job.
I do not want to overload my servers on my hosting account sending massive amounts of Emails in one go. Is there a way for an outbox with say 300 emails ready to send to be modified to send one email every 5 or 10 minutes rather than all 300 Emails getting sent at once?

Hi I have made a silly mistake of deleting an email with a powerpoint attachment that I now need. I know exactly when the email was sent (13 Sept) as I replied to the email (but in my reply the attachment was not sent).
Is there ANY way I can get the attachment back?
