Can you update the OS of your iPhone 3GS on another computer?
I wanted to update the OS on my work computer, but my iPhone is only synced to my computer at home. I was wondering if I could update it at work without it getting erased.
iphone is synced at work to G5 and can't update to iOS 4.2.
If I update iphone 3Gs on intel mac at home to iOs 4.2, will I still be able to sync at work to G5 running 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.2.1?

By wipe, do you mean erase all songs in the iPod app on your phone? If so, you sych the phone to your computer and uncheck the sych music tab. Your music will synch off your phone.

If by "for the Apps" you mean the app labels? No. But you might try experimenting with Accessibility settings to see if you can acheive something that will help. As for the size of text within an app, that would depend on whether the app provides that configuration setting.

My iPhone has just been replaced and I am trying to restore from iCloud but its saying no backups are compatible with the version of IOS 6.0.1. My back iOS are IOS 6.1. Can you update the phone first then restore?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes, update first, Settings > General > Software Update.
Then navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from. -

Updating the iOS will Install the most current Version.
Suggest you use iTunes on your Computer to Update from 6 to 7.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....
