Can you upgrade the Java JDK that is shipped with ES3 to a more current version

We have installed ES3 within out environment. However there appears to be some security issues with the JDK (1.6.0_26) that is shipped with ES3. We can't find any documentation on how to upgrade the JDK to a newer version that will work with ES3.

These computers usually use Xandros, which is a version of linux that is no longer actively developed. Unfortunately I don't think there is a good way to update Firefox on these machines. I'd suggest you install a new version of linux (Ubuntu is a very popular and easy to use one). This is a bit beyond the scope of this forum however, I'd suggest looking on a few linux forums. They can help you find a version of linux that is more modern, faster and more secure, and then help you with installing it and setting it up. You'll be able to use the newest Firefox at that point, plus your operating system will be updated and faster.

    can you upgrade the Apple MacBook MB466LL/A to 8gb ram

    Apple only tests the MacBook with the RAM that's affordable at the time of manufacture. At that time 4gb RAM sticks ran about $400 each. Once they've tested them they never go back as the RAM drops in price since they're on to the next model by then.
    So (Apple) means what they first tested the MacBook at. (Actual) means how much RAM the MacBook is capable of handling.

    Hi,
    Upgrading graphics chips on laptops is very difficult and mostly impossible because the chips are soldered to the motherboard. You can upgrade the graphics chip by replacing the motherboard with a compatible one which has a more powerful graphics chip. In your case it is a mobo with an Nvidia GF GT650M with 2GB of DDR5 RAM. However, the motherboard costs approx $600. The part number you need is:  682040-001.
    It looks like M7series laptops are compatible with Dv7-6000 series laptops. See a service manual:

  • If I buy a used computer, can I upgrade the FCP X that's installed?

    If I buy a used computer, can I upgrade the FCP X that's installed to 10.1?
    Thanks!   Greg

    I was hoping to be able to buy a used computer with FCP X already installed and then upgrade it to the 10.1.2 version.
    to re-phrase the already given answers:
    it is technically impossible to update an installed version of FCPX,  WITHOUT the account's data (user name/pw) it was purchased/installed with.
    So, even if some ruthless character (you're not allowed to re-sell FCPX) sells you a Mac with a 'preinstalled' FCPX, you can never upgrade it - … without his/her account data.
    "there's no such thing as a free lunch!"
    hint:
    the cheapest way to purchase FCPX is to look out for Special Offers of iTunes Gift Cards - frequently, Warehouses, Discounters, even drugstores offer 20%-off the regular price. So, instead of 300€, it's 240€ ... with the saved money, you can buy another backup-drive for your projects

  • Can you operate the mac book pro 15 inch with out the battery?  I read somewhere in a post that it lowers the power to about 1 gig.  I asked apple and they said it is not true because you can use it with or without both together without affecting op pw

    can you operate the mac book pro 15 inch with out the battery?  I read somewhere in a post that it lowers the power to about 1 gig with out the battery.  I asked apple and they said it is not true because you can use the comp with the power adapter and battery together or either by itself and it will not effect the 2.16 gig.  Thank you.

    If you remove the battery the CPU power will be cut by 50% (whatever they told you) so that there's no lack of power or overheating issues. It's best to always keep the battery in.

    ps i cant do any of take it apart my self and install it i just wan to know how much it will cost going through apple
    thanks

    Why do people think they are postiing in a notebook forum when if you look around, this is clearly something else.
    If you really want a new Mac you have to buy one. That is part of the fun of owning laptops, they are not upgradeable.

  • Can you upgrade the graphics on a macbook?

    I am wondering if you can upgrade the graphics card on a macbook. I've looked in the online apple store but all of the graphic cards are for mac pros or macs with G3-5 processors.
    Do the current graphics on a macbook prevent you from playing games on windows when running bootcamp? I mostly play command and conquer, not a graphically demanding game. thanks.

    NO, you can't upgrade the graphics card. If it's not that demanding then it would most likely be fine.

  • How do I upgrade the webbasics site that is included with Muse subscription?

    Hi there
    I want to upgrade the web basics account I got with Muse so that I can have a blog on my site, but I can't find any way of doing that...
    Thanks for the help!

    Ok, so I'm attempting to do this...I've created a mysite.businesscatalyst.com brand new site from a blank template (for the record, it is a webmarketing account). What I want to do, is simply add a blog to my existing site www.thegadgetguy.ca but because it's the one included with the Muse subscription, I have now learned it cannot be upgraded to the webmarketing version which has blog capabilities.
    So...
    Now that I have Muse open with this new blank website, what on earth do I do with it? Do I have to re-create a page in the style of my existing website (www.thegadgetguy.ca) - and if so, can I simply copy and paste a page style -  and then when I publish it, publish it to the gadgetguy Muse site?
    How exactly does this work? It's not by any stretch of the imagination a user friendly or easily identified process.
    Thanks

  • How can you upgrade the Oracle's db java version?

    Hi - Is there away to upgrade the database's java version? We are on UNIX with Oracle 8.1.6. I would like to upgrade it to Java 1.4, if possible. As far as I know, we do not currently use java for anything. We like to use java stored procedures.
    Thanks

    Is it possible (and if so, how) to determine the version of Java used to compile a class file?
    I've recently had to install both JDK 1.5 and JDK 1.4 on my system, and although I've got my paths set, etc.
    I'd like to check my class files after compiling so I can rest assured that they were compiled with the appropriate version.
    Can this be done? How?
    Thanks.The answer is yes and no. You can check the VM compability/compliance version of the compiled class. But e.g a JDK 1.5 compiler can compile classes that are compatible with a 1.4 VM (but that doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to execute on that VM without any errors)

  • Can you upgrade the RAM on a Retina Display Macbook Pro?

    So I've been looking around for information on whether the RAM on a Retina Macbook Pro can be upgraded and the mixed messages have left me confused. If I take my Macbook Pro (Retina Display) to an Apple store for a RAM upgrade and offer to pay them for the RAM and installation, would they do it for me?
    Thanks and if you can't, please explain why.
    I am aware that the RAM is soldered into the motherboard making it very difficult to perform the upgrade, but will some stores actually do it for you?

    The MacBook Pro with Retina display is soldered onto the logic board, so RAM can't be added without replacing the logic board.
    I know there are shops that may try to add more RAM without replacing the logic board, but they aren't official resellers and if something happens, the warranty will be voided. Apple won't do it.
    If you want, you can sell your MacBook Pro and get another one with more RAM. It's the best way to do it, because I don't think you want to spend a lot of money replacing the logic board or you want to take it to a non-official technical support, putting the Mac in risk

  • Can You Upgrade the Processor in a Lenovo B570 Laptop?

    I've gotten all sorts of mixed answers, so I'm going to ask directly here at Lenovo: Can I upgrade my B570 from a Pentium B950 2.10GHz Dual core?And if so, what processors are compatible with my motherboard?

    I did it! I didn't think it was possible! I sucessfully upgraded my B570 from an intel core i3 2350m to a core i7 2720m. Even though one is 35 watt and the other is 45 watt, it still worked. The i7 is running hotter but nothing horribly bad.  50C to near 70 C.  I followed a take apart youtube video. It's sort of complex because the CPU is on the upper side of the motherboard. I only had 1 screw left over!! YAY!  Everything appears to be working fine. My WIFI wasn't working at first but I went back in and reset the bios to default settings and reset comptuer and bam now it's working.  The speed increase wasn't at all what I had expected.  I just upgraded my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB a few days back and that actually provided the biggest speed boost of all.
    So it CAN be DONE as long as you get a core i3, i5, i7 series that starts with a 2*** (sandy bridge). I also used the long parts manual provided by lenovo in order to find a chip compatable with my b570 system. They list a number of chips. I bought the next to the most fastest they had listed because the price ot the BEST one just wasn't worth the cost.
    AGAIN...it does WORK!

  • Can you change the default code that targets a new window to change the content in a div tag instead

    I created a database for store locations.  I was able to display the list of stores.  Here though I don't want the list to show the number in front of it...  I still need to find the CSS to edit my results for this one.  However, more importantly, I don't want to open my results in a new window, I want to be able to target a DIV tag instead.
    This is the code that is created to display the list of stores.
    {module_webapps,5665,a,,,_blank,,50,,1}
    Currently it opens a blank window.  I'd like to target a div tag on the right of the list area where the store info can appear.
    Perhaps the gurus at adobe can upgrade this feature?  Target DIVs instead of new or blank windows, or using frames. Below is the screen of the links created from the DB.
    Below is the blank window that it opens.
    Would like to make it open in a div to the right of the list.  Not sure how to change to core code that was created to make that change.

    I'm doing something wrong.  I have the list showing the stores in CA
    <div class="flip" id="woodcontainer" style="width: 160px; height: 23px;">
    <h1>CALIFORNIA</h1>
    </div>
    <div class="panel">
    <script>
      $("#infochange").load("{module_webapps,5665,c,41140}"); /* this creates the list of stores in CA where #infochange is the DIV I am targeting.
    </script>
    </div>
    <br />
    The code for the DIV where I want the details to load.
    <div id="infochange"></div>
    This doesn't make sense because I need to have something in the DIV as a holder of some sort?

  • Can you upgrade the processor in a Presario CQ62-210us

    I just bought a compaq presario cq62-210us, and I didn't realize that it had a single core celeron 900 processor, so what I was wondering is if it is possible to upgrade to a dual core processor.
    I know that it is hard to upgrade the processor on laptops, but is there a specific chip that would fit in this model? If not, then is there a simuilar model that has the same internal  configuration, that I could just switch the processor with the model I currently have?
    Thank you.

  • Can you do the Java equivalent of this with Generics?

    Think of specialization as "compile-time" polymorphism. It allows you to create different implementations of methods/classes for different types, selected at compile-time. For example, I use template specialization extensively in Jace to unify entire sets of type-disparate JNI functions.
    Specialization is a very powerful technique and is also used extensively in template meta-programming (which brings us back to the OP). Even were the current form of Java generics to somehow magically support some form of specialization, you still wouldn't be able to perform meta-programming as Java generics don't work with constants.
    Any surface similarities between Java generics and C++ templates expire at trivial inspection, which means that it's a fairly futile exercise to try to compare the two.
