CAN YOU UPGRADE TO CURRENT os?

Can you upgrade from lion to maverick?

See the following:
Upgrading from Lion or Mountain Lion/Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. Mavericks is a free upgrade.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion or Mavericks but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
A. Upgrading to Mountain Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion or Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Can you upgrade from 1.3.0.20 small ovf to 2.1 without migrating to a new server? It sounds like you can just adjust the server settings now. I am currently running 1.3.0.20 and I have enough to do with also needing to upgrade my wlc to 7.4.121.0 and getting the MSE up to 7.4.121.0 without having to stand up a new server if I don't have to. Please share any information you have in regards to your experience with coming from a version 1.2-1.3 small ovf and going to 2.1.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

You are better off standing up a new server.  It's cleaner and safer..... you can always try to upgrade if you wish, but if things don't work out well, then you just wasted a lot of time.  Snapshot the VM and export the floor plans, just in case.  The ova is built around the DB size, so I don't know how well the DB will perform if you try to expand memory or drive space after an upgrade.

Can you upgrade from Os x 10.4 to 10.5 or higher?

Because you have a Core Duo model you are limited to Snow Leopard. You already have the maximum RAM for your model. All you need do is purchase the Snow Leopard DVD from Apple's Online Store - $29.00.
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s)
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).

    Hi,
Upgrading graphics chips on laptops is very difficult and mostly impossible because the chips are soldered to the motherboard. You can upgrade the graphics chip by replacing the motherboard with a compatible one which has a more powerful graphics chip. In your case it is a mobo with an Nvidia GF GT650M with 2GB of DDR5 RAM. However, the motherboard costs approx $600. The part number you need is:  682040-001.
It looks like M7series laptops are compatible with Dv7-6000 series laptops. See a service manual:

           Yes

It's easy, but not that easy.  You need to copy all the info from the drive currently in the mac to the new  one before you install the new SSD.  You can do          this by downloading cloning software (I use CarbonCopyCloner because it's free)
Not to be picky but CCC is donationware, if you use it because of its quality you should send a little bit of money in appreciation, and as a bonus you get to turn the banner off.

Can you upgrade Acrobat 9 Standard to Acrobat XI Standard if you have a "bundle" license?  The Acrobat 9 Standard CD envelope has a serial number that must be used to install the software.

    Hi cloudnavigator,
I am not sure what 'bundled' license means here but since you have the serial number with the CD envelope, it's a retail license you have bought.
You are eligible to purchase an upgrade to acrobat 11 Std./ Pro.

  • Can you upgrade the Apple MacBook MB466LL/A to 8gb ram

can you upgrade the Apple MacBook MB466LL/A to 8gb ram

Apple only tests the MacBook with the RAM that's affordable at the time of manufacture. At that time 4gb RAM sticks ran about $400 each. Once they've tested them they never go back as the RAM drops in price since they're on to the next model by then.
So (Apple) means what they first tested the MacBook at. (Actual) means how much RAM the MacBook is capable of handling.

  • Can you upgrade from os x 10.4 tiger to os x10.6 snow leopard

I have just bought a 2nd had mac book pro 2006 model 2gb ram and 100gb hdd it is running tiger 10.4.11 I have realized that i need to upgrade this to be able to use the lastest i tunes etc and also to be able to sync my iphone 4. can you upgrade straight from tiger to snow leopard 10.6 or do you need to install leopard 10.5 first.
    Many Thanks
    Simon

    Backup first
It is always best to have a full bootable backup before you upgrade. If you fail to do this you will be unable to return to this OS if you decide you don't like the new OS. Also there is a slight chance that an install could lose everything on the Mac. The backup must be to an external hard disk. Preferably use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup of the whole disk.
    Erase before the install
Once you have a bootable backup on an external disk it is best to erase the internal disk with the new installer DVD before you install.
    During the install
Preferably do not import any data or preferences from earlier OSs during the install process as this can reintroduce bugs.
    OS numbers and names
    OS X 10.4.x - Tiger
    OS X 10.5.x - Leopard
    OS X 10.6.x - Snow Leopard
    OS X 10.7.x - Lion
    OS X 10.8.x - Mountain Lion

    Upgrade to Leopard
Those wishing to upgrade to Leopard should be aware that install disks can be expensive unless you contact Apple. Details: http://lowendmac.com/deals/best-os-x-leopard-prices.html Standard Leopard installers impose several hardware limitations including speed and RAM size but all these restrictions can be overcome. Google for details. Leopard works well at 500 MHz with 1 GB of RAM and many happy users have less than this.
    Upgrade beyond Leopard
OSs beyond OS X 10.5.8 require an Intel processor. If in doubt check this: Click the apple at the top left of your screen and select 'About this Mac'. This will give you your OS number. Then click 'More Info' to see which processor you have. If it says PowerPC you cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard and above. If you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that. You can buy Snow Leopard here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
    Upgrade beyond Snow Leopard
Information about upgrading Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A

Check that your Mac complies with any requirements. If you are not in the US you should use the Change Country link at the bottom of Apple pages.

If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Can you upgrade your iPod touch 4g to a 5g or anything? Thanks for your help!

In the USA, Apple charges $149 for a refurbished one of those and $199 for a new one. If you choose to buy a secondhand one, use a site such as Amazon or eBay, or from a physical store which carries used Mac products, and ensure that the device doesn't have an activation lock set before buying it. If it seems far cheaper than Apple's refurbished price, it probably does.
