Can you use an XML file to make Subclips for you?

Hi everyone,
I know this is a bit of a long-shot, but I am wondering if I can use an XML file(made after logging a few tapes, but before capture) to make subclips for me?
Basically I have a painful project with 2 tapes i had to capture separately as 1 long individual clip each due to time-code breaks, but as i did first Log & Capture as usual (only to later find it wouldn't batch capture) i didn't want my hard work to go to waste!

I'm assuming you captured using the non-controllable device setting and have the clip including TC breaks and blank areas etc.
Try this:
Load the clip into the Viewer and play it. Press M to set markers wherever you want them.
If you want to give the marker a more decriptive name, press M a second time whilst the playhead is positioned on the marker. A dialog will open with text input fields. Or, click the marker in the Browser, then click the marker’s name to select it. You can now change the name.
Drag in the Browser to select all the markers or click the first one, then shift click the last one.
Choose Modify > Make Subclip. This will make all the subclips in one go and if you gave your markers new names, your subclips will use them.
The subclips appear in addition to the original clip with the markers. You can rename the subclips, if you want. You can review the subclips, deleting any clips you might not need. If you do remove unused clips, you can use the Media Manager to remove your unused footage from disk, leaving the media for your remaining subclips alone.

No.
Since the XML file you have has custom tags, there is not a way for IDM to understand it's contents.
IDM does offer a "Simulated" resource, which is an XML based resource, but it has a defined structure. You might be able to alter your XML to match what the Simulated Resource expects, or better yet, get it into a database and use the database table adapter.

I have an iMac with Mountain Leon. Using iTunes and airplay, I would like to see subtitles for movies that I have put into iTunes (not purchased through Apple). Normally I would use aa srt file with the same name but I cannot load them into iTunes.
Any help would be appreciated.

i am a beginner of toplink,i find that in my project,i must provide two xml format files,they are "session.xml" and a project xml file,to make the toplink works well,the project descriptor can be generated by using the mapping workbench,but how can i generate the "session.xml",now,what i can do is to modify the sample file that come with the toplink installation,i wonder if there is a graphic tool that can be used to generate it?

Currently there is no UI support for creating or modifying sessions.xml. The DTD is provided in both the documentation as well as in the installed files (<TOPLINK_HOME>\core\sessions_4_5.dtd). The examples should also contain a variety of sessions.xml file to assist you.

ScanNGo - Using localbackup.xml file

Hi All, Wondering if someone would be able to help us out, we have hundards of CN51's and CN50's through AUS and NZ and have been looking into this ScanNGo barcode system. AUS have successuflly used the .XML file from the localbackup via SOTI Mobicontrol deployment system, but am trying to make it as easy as possible as with SOTI we still need to setup an APN connection before being able to connect to the device, so hence why am looking at the ScanNGo to atleast setup the APN. Searching the forums and I see people have had success in using the ScanNGo creator by using the localback.xml from the SmartSystems folder. Unfortunately this does not seem to work for me, it will scan all 9/9 barcodes from the ScanNGo system but then returns an error "Error reading scanned data into xml" Attached is the localback.xml file from which I can apparently use this file with the ScanNGo barcode creator ? Could someone please correct me if i'm wrong on this. Thanks, Much appreciated.

first, it is no good idea to apply a full backup xml to a device. You should only change the settings different from factory default. See other posts here about how to create a configuration xml with only changed settings.
secondly, a backup xml does not contain security data like passwords. So the backup xml does not have the WWAN password(s):

As you can see, the "WWAN Information" is nothing to be used for a configiration xml. And you see that there are no passwords.

You can't do this in PSE by itself. I'm assuming you have windows, so output your slideshow as a wmv file and then use Premiere Elements to finalize the disc, if you have that. If not, use whatever you do have (if you can burn DVDs, you have software). Even windows dvd maker will do this.

the problem is, the file exist.
is it possible the container look in root directory?

I'm trying to learn how to use an xml file to store user settings for an add in I'm creating. Up to this point, I've just used simple text files in the past that were structured a specific way. I thought I would try and learn to use XML for this after doing
some research online and came across this tutorial:

I add the DataSet to my project, but when I get to the step where I'm supposed to add an element to the blank DataSet, I can't find the XML Schema toolbox items. I tried to manually add the toolbox items but couldn't find them. Does anyone know where they
are located so I can add them to my toolbox? Or perhaps another similar tutorial I could follow for creating an XML settings file that I can save to and read from easily for my add in. Since it is a dll, I can't use My.Settings, had already looked into that.

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding. Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD). More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder). Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button. Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder. After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version." You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding. Hopefully your phone will play that.

Using multiple XML files for drill-down

I have an XML file which populates a graph showing months of the year. I have 12 other XML files which have data for each day of the month running from 1 - 31.
What I would like to do is use the 12 XML files to drill down for each of the months on my graph, but am struggling to get it to work.
The XML that populates the graph is in the following format :

You can only import a single XML file. You may have an xml file that has multiple occurances of data but it must be a single xml file.
So you woudl have to find a way to combine all of those xml files into one then do the import.

Can't import an xml file

Hi,
I am using Captivate 5.5 on Windows. I have an .swf file which needs to have an xml file with it in order for it to behave the way in which it was intended. The developer has said that the two files need to be included in the same folder.
I have no problem importing the swf file however I can't import the xml file which is called flashParams.xml. I have been editing the xml file in windows notepad and it is working perfectly outside Captivate. However when i try to import the xml, I get the message 'Cannot import XML'. I have been using File/Import/from xml to get the file loaded but no luck. I have also tried dragging it into the library but no luck here either.
Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong and how they would approach what surely must be a very simple task.

I think what I could do is to launch the swf by clicking on a link in the Captivate session to an external url (it will be hosted on Moodle). The one problem I have is that when I do this in Captivate, the slide refuses to pause and moves onto the next slide. What I would like is for the user to be able to click on the link for the url and for the slide to pause until the user clicks on a next button to go to the next slide.

Ive had this and solved it an entirely different way very quickly.
Connect the ipad to the imac (i assume its an imac);
Fire up itunes;
while thats happening create a new folder called EMPTY in your Pictures folder on the imac;
go back to itunes;
select the ipad;
go to photos on the ipad;
select SYNC FROM SELECTED FOLDER;
select your EMPTY folder;
then hit SYNC and the photos / videos in photo albums / the albums will all instantly disappear.
We had 7.98 Gb of syncd fotos and videos on the ipad and tried all the more lengthy [and unsuccessful] ways suggested elsewhere.
There was so little space we couldnt u/d the IOS !
OK, so we werent bothered about keeping the fotos that were on the ipad (they'd all been filed in iphot on the imac so not 'lost').
Nice to find a solution for yourself when you're a silver surfer in your mid '60's
