Can you use lightroom mobile to share your catalog on another computer?

Can you use lightroom mobile to share your catalog on another computer?

What you can do is use Lightroom Web via your browser on the other computer. You go into your browser and log into your Adobe account at https://lightroom.adobe.com/. You can then:
use the P, U, X keyboard shortcuts to add pick flags
use numbers 0-5 to add ratings
remove photos from collections
let others see a collection by making it public, sharing to FB etc, giving them the Adobe URL
add new originals to LrMobile by dragging them from the other computer's folders and dropping them in the browser - the newly uploaded file will be automatically added to your main catalogue. Try this, it's got lots of potential uses.

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

  • I own lightroom 5 how can i use lightroom mobile

I own lightroom 5.4 and I have a license.  How can i use lightroom mobile?
Do I have to pay for CC for this feature?
    Thanks Brian

One additional Note. One of the things you can do is to try Lightroom mobile free for 30 days.

You know, this is just a thought.  I'm not sure the differences between the iq526 and iq770, but as I was looking around I found this article.  I don't know if it'll help, but you might want to take a look.  Evidently someone figured out how to use the HP touchsmart as an external monitor for his Dell laptop.

  • Those who purchased Lightroom outright can not use Lightroom Mobile without a subscription?

This seems quite odd that the licence does not include the Android platform and Adobe force the purchase of their CC subscription.

If the company in question is not one of the owners of the cloud, then I would share your surprise.

Your final point about losing one's catalog if the internet goes down doesn't make sense to me, if I understand you correctly.
My catalog remains on my PC along with the LR software.  LR Mobile uses the internet to sync some of the information stored within it with mobile devices.  If I lose the internet I lose communication between the devices but not my catalog.
I'll try to clarify. To use Lightroom Mobile, a Creative Cloud Photography Plan is a minimum pre-requisite costing (about £8 a month where I live). If that is your only license agreement, if you do not own a perpetual license of Lightroom, I can see subscription ending scenario being triggered in the event of an extended internet blackout or a combination of events the designers did not think of. This is an interesting readRe: Top Ten Questions About Creative Cloud.
Take 3 scenarios, all without a perpetual license:
    a) you do not own a perpetual license and are on a trip, a field trip, without internet access for more than 7 days and you are using LR on a laptop, the 7 day period grace gets triggered. Let's assume that you are offline for more than 14 days, you might very well loose access to your catalog but not to your files unless you get internet connection (good luck if your visiting certain parts of the world)
    b) you stop paying your subscription, you lost access to your catalog
    c) for reasons now unknown to us we loose internet connectivity for a month or the Adobe servers are unreachable, you lost access to your cataog
What is in your catalog? You keywords, collections, saved prints, possibly books, and crucially any adjustments made to your files. So loosing your catalog = loosing all your hard work.
I have been on trips with extended periods without internet connectivity but had my camera, laptop and LR installed on it; photography was the whole point of the trip. Without a perpetual license I would have lost access to my catalog more than once. As for c) not happening, I am old enough to remember the year 2000 problem and the mad rush to fix all of this computer programs that only supported 2 digit years and were not meant to have been in use 40 years after they were wrote.
I fail to understand why we have to design systems that must have access to the internet on a regular basis. It makes the internet a single point failure.
To sum up, you must own a perpetual license not to suffer a subscription ending scenario.

  • Can you use screen sharing outside of your local network?

I've been poking around with the "screen sharing" in osx Lion. I have a few questions about it.
Firstly, is the built-in screen sharing only accessible through the finder?
Also, is it only available on local networks? I've gotten it to work on two computers on the same network. But, can I use in the built-in screen sharing to look at my work iMac while I'm at home on my Macbook? Or would I need a full VPN client to do this? (Although isn't there built-in VPN compatibility in Lion?)
    Thanks!

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation, can you use without downloading iTunes to your computer

My son got an iPod Touch for Christmas.  When charged and turned on, it only shows a picture of a cord and the iTunes logo.  We've been trying to download iTunes to my computer (asked question over at iTunes forum as keep receiving 'iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application' error and will not download, dial up, Toast, IE9) and can not get it done.  I have been told there is no disc that can be sent to me to start iTunes on my computer.  We've taken the iPod to a local WiFi spot but the screen will not change.  (And could not download at the local WiFi spot iTunes to my computer either.)
Is there anyway to start this iPod Touch without having iTunes downloaded to your computer?  This was not mentioned anywhere when I bought the iPod for Christmas and we are very upset that he has been unable to even use his present.  No one in my community knows how to fix this, no one has WiFi and the local WiFi spot, I have already sat there for 6 hours trying to get this done and keep getting this error.
We are very disgusted with the whole business and have gone out and bought him something of his choosing and are about ready to nix the whole business with iPods, iPads and anything 'i' related between myself, my family, and my whole community because we feel its wrong to have something that can't be used unless you have faster than dial up service.  What's the point of getting anything from Apple if you can't use it do to the area you live in not having reception or satelite service?  It still boggles my mind that they can't send me a disc to correct this.
Can someone give me some suggestions on how to get his iPod working since we can't get iTunes downloaded to anyone's computer out where I live?

If you're getting the "iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid 32bit application" error, it likely means that you may have tried to download the 64bit iTunes Setup exe (application).  You mentioned you couldn't download because you have dialup, However, even with dialup you should be able to download iTunes.  You can go to the following apple site and scroll down and click on the Windows 32 bit version of iTunes.  On dialup it will take a while to download, but it can be done.  See if this helps.

  • Can you sync basic mobile phone to your icloud account for your iphone 5

can you set up or sync an iphone 5 to a basic mobile phone . if so how and also if so what if the phones are not even in same state

You can set up an account on any iOS device or Mac with the compliant operating system, and sign into it on other compliant devices, but 'Find My iPhone' has to be enabled on the device in question before it goes missing.

  • CAN YOU COPY KEYWORD TAGGING HIERARCHY FROM ONE CATALOG TO ANOTHER?

I use PSE 9 and I  HAVE SO MANY PICTURES THAT THE ORGANIZER RUNS SLOW.  I want to split into 2 or 3 catalogs and use the same keyword tagging hierarchy in each catalog.  I know how to write the tags to the picture files but when I do that and then load the split of pictures into a new catalog, all the tags are alpha without the the sub-catagory hierarchy that I'd set up in the original catalog.  Can I get the same tagging in each catalog and/or start a new catalog that has the same keyword tag hierarchy?

    In your old catalog:
    Show the Keyword Tags panel.
    Click the green plus sign.
Choose "Save Keyword Tags to File".
In your new catalog, before importing any photos, repeat steps 1 & 2, then choose "From File".  That will import your keyword tags with the hierarchy intact.

  • Can you use a mobile broadband for Apple TV. My mobile prepaid is wifi but does it have to have credit on it to or can atv still stream through the device.

I have a mobile prepaid broadband. I want to buy a Apple TV but I'm unsure about whether it will work with my mobile broadband.
It is wifi.  Does  my wifi have to have credit on it for the atv to work.  It still works you just can't connect to the Internet with it unless I buy credit.  I just need to make sure.  I want to use my iPad and view on my he tv.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
It may well work but will likely be far too slow and far to expensive.

  • Can you use apps that are on your phone in Itunes?

My question stems from having to set my Iphone 4 back to stock settings.  I do sync with the cloud but for some reason it did not do it correctly.  I lost my apps on my phone but still have them all on my Itunes.  One app I see on my Itunes that I need to access is my Vehical, this tracks my miliage and expenses for work.  Does anyone know how to pull date off of that app in Itunes?

No, you cannot run iOS apps directly in iTunes. Having reset your device to its initial setup you would need to restore a backup of the device taken prior to the reset in order to recover the various app-specific data.

  • HT5622 Can you use more than one apple ID on the same computer? I can't sign in and out and sync my iPod because my library isn't on there.

My sister has an iTunes account on our main computer, and I have one on our laptop.  I want to be able to sync my iPod with the main computer, but I can't because my library is on the laptop.  Is there any way to sync my iPod with my library on the computer?

    Yes
    http://www.imore.com/how-use-multiple-apple-ids-one-computer-and-itunes
However you can only sync all media from one iTunes library/computer. However, one can sync music and videos with different computers/libraries if you have iTunes setup to manually sync. See that method included here:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod

  • Can I use Folio Builder with my Adobe ID on another computer?

I'm working in Windows XP. I have a folio hosted in my free acrobat.com workspace, with the source files on a network drive. If I sit at someone else's computer in my workgroup and log in to Folio Builder, I can see my folio and can edit and save the articles just fine but I cannot Update them. Any attempt to Update an article in Folio Builder produces a 'content generation error'. Any attempt to get a Preview produces the same error.
Back on my own computer, everything is hunky dory.
Is this expected behaviour? Do Preview and Update rely on temp files in my specific Application Data folder, perhaps? I have ditched InDesign prefs on the computer in question but it makes no difference.
    Alistair

    Hello John,
Yes, the ability to relink (much like you can do with media in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and InDesign) is what I had in mind.  I actually did look for a place in Folio Builder that would let me redefine the location of the parent folder for all of my folios.  In the video production world we have to move and share source and media files with other people frequently so I was surprised to learn this wasn't yet supported with ADPS.
For us the main reasons for some sort of relinking ability are:
    - When you need to update files on a work trip, from home, or some other mobile situation.
    - For instances in the future when you have backed up a project and need to restore it to make updates.
    - When you need to hand over a project to someone else at a different workstation or even another facility.
Of the two choices you mentioned, I think the ability to "fix" the broken links makes the most sense for the situations I've encountered so far.  Assuming it's straightforward I would have no problem going through the process when switching machines.  I would assume that print designers are familiar enough with linked assets that they wouldn't have a problem with this either.

But sorry for my ignorance. I understand how you mean it, but I don't know how to do it. I'm scared to lose the settings/edits of the images.
