Can you use remote app on separate iPhones/AppleID's?

I am trying to get the Apple remote app working on my wife's iPhone5.  We have two Apple TV's (v.2 and v.3) and would like to get her up and running to control them usng her iPhone.
The remote app works fine when using my iPhone4S and iPad2.  When I launch the app, I see icons for each of our libraries and both Apple TV's.
When she launches the app, she can see both of our libraries, but neither of the Apple TV's.
Additional Info:
My wife and I each have itunes/apple ID's/libraries on our respective computers. (OSX and WinXP)
We both have Home Sharing turned on, on our computers and phones.
The Apple TV's have both of our accounts set up in the Store settings.
We can each access both libraries and send them to each Apple TV.
I've been seaching the forums and trying everything I can think of.  Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy

Ok, I see.  I had to sign her into Home Sharing in the Apple Remote app itself.  In Music settings, I have Home Sharing set up with her account.
All is well.  Thanks!

If have separate iCloud accounts and want to keep your all your iCloud data separate, you can create separate user accounts for each of you, then sign into your individual iCloud account within your user account.
If you want to just add both iCloud calendars on your Mac, you can sign into one iCloud account in System Preferences>iCloud, then add the second account in System Preferences>Internet Accounts>iCloud and only check Calendars with this second account.

  • How can I use remote app in a dorm?

I have the most recent version of the remote app for my iPhone 4S, and I'd like to control the iTunes on my 2010 MacBook Pro, but I am in a dorm, so I only have access to the communal "ResHall" wifi. Both my computer and my phone are on this network, but they will not recognize one another. I have turned Home Sharing on and off on both (in different orders as well, i.e. turn both off, turn homesharing on MacBook on first vs. on iPhone first), as well as verified that they are using the same Apple ID. My MacBook's firewall is already set to allow incoming data to iTunes. The router IP address is the same for both machines. Is there any quick (or not so quick, I'm open to anything at this point) way to use remote in a dorm like this?

    Hey Ajthebassist,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are having difficulty pairing the Remote app with iTunes. This article may be able to help in this situation.

  • TS2972 I have signed in with same Apple ID & same network but still can't use Remote app to control my iTunes via iPhone 4s or iPad2.

I have gone through FAQ and tried all methods and checked settings in my iMac and my iOS devices (iPhone 4s and iPad2) and still can't useRemore app to control iTunes. I have used this app without a problem before with my old iPhone 3 and it worked fine.
    What is wrong with it?

Other than you have used it before and it worked - can you provide some more details? You don't see your iTunes library in the remote app?

  • Can I Control Some One Elses iTunes Using Remote App on my iPhone

I have iPhone with Remote app and obviously can control my iTunes with it around the home with my Airport Express...
    Heres the situation :
I'm round at my mates having a BBQ, can I log into his account with my iPhone so I can use the remote app to change his cheesey choice in music?
Can this be done if my phone is already logged into my itunes account? Can I simply log out of mine and into his, with his permission of course, to take control of music selection...
Or would I have to go as far as syncing my phone with his iTunes account? In which case its not worth it, because I would the lose all my music wouldn't I, until I resynced with my account...
Thanks for anyone taking some time to answer this for me...
    Andy...

I have the exact same problem trying to use the Remote app on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad 2 with either my Mac or ATV2.  My Remote app used to work on my phone - I can't recall if I ever actually used it with my iPad, but when I tried today, I got all the same results as you did (on both iPad, and then iPhone).  I  was using my ATV2 to play music from iTunes on my Mac and wanted to use the Remote app, but it would not connect to either device no matter what I did.

  • I can't use the apps on my iPhone 5s

i cannot use any of the apps on my iPhone 5s, it requests me to log into my iTunes when i open the apps but when i do it says 'cannot connect', this was after i updated my phone to the latest iOS 8 because my phone would not download a new app in the first place, now i can't even use my existing apps.. help?!

    Howdy Heapish,
It sounds like you were having issues with 'cannot connect' when opening apps.  Has it worked since then?  There were some system issues on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.  See

  • Can my iTunes Remote app on the iPhone be set to Repeat All by default?

I love using the Remote App to control my iTunes library and stream to my AirPort Express Speakers.
However, I dislike how when it creates a playlist to stream that it's not automatically set for to Repeat All tracks. Is there a way to change this?

If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes being set 'off' ?

  • Can I use Remote app on iPad to control RENTED (read Rented) movies on Apple TV?

I use the Remote App on my iPad to control movies on my Apple TV, but those are movies that I own and are resident on my home network.
What about controlling a rented movie that is aquired through iTunes Store? I would like to be able to control rented content just the same.
    Please advise?
I have the older version of Apple TV – maybe controlling rented movies with ipad can be done with newere Apple TV and iOS 5 on all devices?

Ok, thanks, now I see the very inconspicuous little "control pad" icon in bottom right corner of Remote App. How the **** is a guy supposed know what that means? Why not just put a button labled with "Control Pad" or something on it?
Thanks just the same. Now that I know that, it works really slick. I can start/stop/pause rented movies and use my iPad as remote touch pad to navigate anywhere on the Apple TV menu. Nice.
Can't wait for the "real" Apple TV set to come out.

  • Can you use one iMac with two iphones for updates and itunes? It erased my husband's apps on his phone when I tried to sync.

I am sure there is a way to sync both my iphone and my husband's iphone on our one iMac...when I connected my husband's for the first time it recognized it as a different phone, but would let me save his apps to itunes like it saved mine earlier...  can we have both of our iphone's info on our one itunes account?

When you connected his iphone did you click File>Transfer Purchases?
This would transfer any ituens purchases from iphone to computer.
You can sync as many iphones as you like to one computer/account/library.

  • Can you use GPS app while talking on the phone at the same time?

Hi I'm just curious because I will be getting a iPhone 4 in May and I wanted to know if it's possible to be in a phone call while also using an GPS app?
Does the GPS app use the data connection or the GPS signal or satellites?
    Thanks a bunch!
    Bruce

Thanks and I also did some research and found out that with GPS active, if you load your route/directions prior to making a phone call the route will be cached and navigation still works. The GPS will tell you where you are along the route.
But if you're on the phone and then try to load a map or navigation it will not load your route until it can download the map, meaning you will need to wait until you get off the phone call to download the info.
So if you know you will need to use navigation, turn on your GPS, load your map/route to start navigation, then make your phone call. Makes sense to me now and if anyone needs to know here is the solution right here.

  • HT204053 hi, my ipad has been stolen and im trying to find it on find my ipad can I use the app find my iphone for it?

where on itunes can I go to log on to icloud to be able to see where my ipad is?

If you set up iCloud and turned on Find My iPhone on it before it was stolen, you may be able to track it using Find My iPhone on icloud.com from your computer, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f2442.

  • Can you use an app without needing to unlock security lock?

My son has an iPhone 4 and I set up a password on it, so he doesn't use it for inappropriate usage. But, when he is home alone I sometimes have to call to check on him. He clearly receives the call, but cannot answer it because I had set up the security lock. Can someone please find a solution to this? Especially Apple? I would love to find out that Apple makes an update for this! The only thing you can do without unlocking the phone is the Camera.

It is not necessary to type your passcode when answering an incoming call.  The "slide to unlock" button will instead display "slide to answer" while the iPhone is ringing.  The call is answered immediately after sliding the button.
Are you sure that it is asking for the passcode?

  • Can't get remote app working (mac/iphone 3g/time capsule)

I had the remote application working, but somewhere along the line it quit. I can add in my library and enter the 4 digit code in itunes, but when I select my library the spinner icon just spins and eventually it times out.
I have my firewall turned off. I'm using OS X 10.5.5 patched all the way up. iPhone 2.1.
    any ideas?

  • Can I use my app find my Iphone in order to find my friends iphone???

    hello

You don't view iCloud on the iPhone.
You open the FindMyiPhone app from the iTunes app store.
a secondary oddity - In my settings I have 'find a phone' on.  in my systems check it shows I have the 'find a phone' and 'find a friend' app.  however, I can't find the functional app on my phone...
    Just search for it.
On the Home screeen, swipe down from the middle of the screen.
