Am looking to buy an Apple TV and completely stop using any cable provider.
I need to make sure I can watch the World Cup LIVE at the very least.
As long as that works out, I'm good to go to switch.

If there is an app on the ATV or an app on an iDevice that supports AirPlay, sure.
If not, then the answer is no.

KingDome24Certain links to the Coachella streaming video channels work with AirPlay to AppleTV.
Note: the video streams posted at http://www.coachella.com/ don't work via AirPlay. You get the error message "An error occured loading this content. Try again later."
The fix:
1) Starting from your computer, go to the Coachella website: http://www.coachella.com
2) Click the "Watch on Youtube.com" button (located in the embedded video player window below the playing coachella video; it's the one to the left of the "Fullscreen" button). This opens that same channel in YouTube.
3) Click "Share" and...
4) Click "Email"... (use YouTube to share a private email link to your email).
5) Open the Coachella channel on your IPhone from the link in your email.
6) Using Airplay, send this streaming Coachella Youtube Channel to your Apple TV from your IPhone.
It works!
If your AirPlay videos are interupted by your IPhone Auto-lock then you can fix that using:
IPhone --> Settings --> General --> Auto-Lock --> "Never".

You should certainly be able to add content by reference to itunes from such a disk (even before the update) - so long as itunes knows the location of the file (set Preferences not to copy to local library when adding the media) it will stream it to AppleTV if the disk is available.
I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if current Extremes can be upgarded to provide a full Home Sharing service - marvellous if they can but I'd be surprised as i've long said we need an Apple media server either based on TC or AE to do this kind of thing.

Movie rental Q: How many times can you watch the film within 48 hours?
It's just I have 8 hours left on Into The Wild and I fancied watching it a second time, only it is not playing when I click on the thumbnail. It just says "accessing the iTunes store" for a few seconds. I've tried clicking play. Other films appear to work ok, just not this one. I assume that if it doesn't let me watch it a second time iTunes will give me free movie rental credit.
According to the FAQ "Once you've started to watch the movie, you have 24 hours to finish watching the movie (even if you start watching before the download is complete). You can watch the movie as many times as you want within this 24-hour period": iTunes Store movie rental usage
If you are having problems you should contact iTunes Store Customer Services. -
How do I undo whatever went wrong after installing the latest update to Photoshop 2014 and suddenly when I tried to paint or touch up my illustration (book cover I'd drawn and painted, then scanned in and continued painting, changing. It's mostly done but I needed to send it like yesterday!!) OR touch up a photograph, black-like oily smudge-like substance sprayed around the point of the brush. I tried to fix by resetting but really didn't know what to do and probably made it worse. However, the problem happened after I updated the Photoshop Creative Cloud 2014 on my desktop 8.1 Windows and after a Tech helped update the regular CC Photoshop on my laptop 2007, 64 bit Windows to 2014. He promised to call back after giving it time to install but didn't for whatever reason on Friday. That happened to go up to the same update I did on my Windows 8.1 Windows. I have this deadline and really stressed. COULD IT BE THE UPDATE OR BOTH. REGARDLESS, CAN SOME EXPERT HELP ME UNDO WHATEVER THE UPDATE AND/OR I DID? I'm a God-gifted artist but only started using Photoshop CC, then updated to 2014--which, again, I like even better--when I began my monthly membership January or February 2014, although I had paid version 2002 and updated to paid version 2004 (ownership, not paid subscription like now). I've learned so much, including transforming, moving, stretching, with layers--all in the painting area with my illustrations--a little touch ups with photography. MY EMAIL IS: [email protected] I really appreciate any help. This needs to be resolved today, the latest tomorrow--I could call tomorrow, however. I was chatting with a Tech support but lost him about an hour or less back. I have the case number and name and gave him my contact number, but they won't be in until tomorrow. i have an ipod tough 3g and its like about 4 to 5 years old it works perfectly fine except the home button is abit messed up and the ipod sometimes crashes. but other than that everything is fine. so i was watching something on an app and then al of a sudden i dont see the video i can just hear it. i then think its just the app but when i go on youtube the same exact thing happens. you click to watch a video and you can hear it perfectly but you cant see anything. the screen is just black when u ONLY watch a video. this happened last night so yea.i really hope somebody can help me figure out how to fix this and whats wrongwith it:)

Noor .T.When it goes black do a very short press of the button on the right upper side of the phone and the screen will reappear. Make it a very short quick press.
OTOH, if you are using the speaker so you can watch the screen as you are talking when it goes dim touch the screen anywhere that it is blank and it will again go bright. On long calls you have to repeat this.
Many folks have had the same problem you described and what I have told you is the best and ONLY way around the screen going blank during a call.

i can not watch videos while at home and connected to wi-fi. when i touch the video i want to watch a screen comes up with a play symbol with a line through it. i can disconnect from the wi-fi and go to 3g and the video will play. this is happening when i go to safari and try to watch a online video.

Can you sync the apple watch to more than one phone?
Say I wanted to leave my phone at home. Could I sync my apple watch to my husbands phone but still get my texts etc???
If you're within about 20-30 feet, sync will be via Bluetooth. If the phone is on a wifi network, you can be farther away: exactly how far varies according to the quality of wifi, walls etc.

I rented a movie a few hours ago and never finished it. I can't view it on my Apple TV nor on my Computer. When I go to rent it again it says you have already rented this movie, but I can't find it anywhere. How do I watch the remainder of the rental?
I had the same issue with my apple tv 3rd generation. I rented Sinister and selected the "rent and watch now" option. Half way through the movie I accidentally pressed the menu button. When I looked for the rented movie on my apple tv I could not find it. Not even above the movie pannel where "purchased" and "top movies" comes up on the main menu. the apple tv suggests to go to settings>downloads but I don't have that option. I did go to settings> itunes store> check rentals but that didnt work either. It took too long to even check. Thank you because this SOLUTION worked great.
SOLUTION: How to reset apple tv 3 3rd generation to view rented movies:on the apple tv remote: press and hold "menu" to go to the main menu. Select SETTINGS> GENERAL >RESET >RESET ALL SETTINGS. After the apple tv resets, input all your information again and your rented movies should be visible when you cruise above the "movies" section. THANK YOU!!
Apple needs to solve this issue because honestly it took me 3 hours and a half to watch a movie that only lasted 2 BECAUSE I wast trying to solve the issue, reseting and all. blahh. -

I've just rented a movie, which claims its going to take 14 hours to download. Its still at it after 1 hour. To make matters worse, the 48 hours it gives you to watch it has already started and charged me an hour. There was a message to say I could start watching it now but it dosen't work. Please can you help?You'll have to wait till it downloads much further than. If your download says it will take 14 hours to download, you have a very slow connection. You would never be able to watch the movie until it downloads completly.
