Canadian Apple Store Montreal

Since I am traveling to Canada Montréal from Europe, I was thinking of purchasing a MacBook from the Canadian Apple store. And I have a few questions about that:
First of all, if I go to the Canadian apple store website, I see the prices in dollars. But are the prices in the actual apple store in Montreal in US dollars, or Canadian Dollars? I can't seem to figure this out. Also I don't know if the apple store website is the actual website of the physical store or the webstore.
Is it possible for me to buy product tax-free, because I live in Europe.
And my final question, does the Canadian Apple store in Montreal have a student discount promotion of any kind?
Thanks in advance!

If you go to the Apple on-line store and select the country at the bottom right of the page as Canada, you will see the prices in Canadian dollars.  That should be the price you will then see at the Montreal Apple store.
Whether or not you can avoid the taxes as a tourist you will have to discuss with the store staff, they should know that information.
The US stores have a student price for university students that comes out to around 10% or $200 US on computers.  Canada most likely does the same thing.  You will need proof that you are a student to receive the discount.

  • Stuck in the Canadian Apple store!

    Hi,
    Can someone please tell me how to rectify this problem? I'm stuck in the Canadian Apple store, and I need to move to the US, the system keeps telling me I have seasons passes that I have not expired yet, but they are old shows at this point. Apparently, you have to wait 30 days after the pass has expired. I just want out of the store, any suggestions?
    Thank you so much, Frank

    Change iTunes Store Country on an iDevice
    1. Tap Settings;
    2. Tap iTunes & App Stores;
    3. Tap View Apple ID;
    4. Enter your user name and password;
    5. Tap Country/Region;
    6. Tap Change Country/Region;
    7. Select the region where you will be located;
    8. Tap Done.
    Also, see How to Change Your iTunes Store Account Location | eHow.com.
    If you are in iTunes, then sign out of your Canadian account and log back in with your US account's Apple ID. If you don't have one, then you will need to create one which requires a US bank issued credit card and a valid US billing address plus an Apple ID using your US email address.

  • Exchanging an iPhone at a Canadian Apple Store?

    Can I exchange my iPhone with a crack at a Canadian Apple store? I was disappointed when I saw a crack in the iPhone.
    My iPhone also has a dead pixel in it.

    Apple's iPhone Service FAQ for Canada:
    http://www.apple.com/ca/support/iphone/service/faq/
    says:
    "How do I get my iPhone serviced?
    Contact Apple Technical Support or take your iPhone to an Apple Retail Store near you."
    so unless that information is wrong (not impossible; I've seen incorrect cut-and-paste on the Apple web site in the past), then yes, an Apple Store could indeed help.
    EDIT: in case anyone wonders about my own "crack", Jo edited her(his) post to correct the phrasing.

  • How do you switch to the Canadian apple store

    I live in Canada and I wanted to get an app you can only get in the USA, so I switched to the American apple store and tried to buy it.. Then it said I have to switch to the Canadian apple store to get it but when I do I can't get the app!! How can I get the app??

    You can only purchase items from the country's store in which you are located and your account, including the payment method has to be associated with that country. Apple checks the public IP address used by the iPod/computer to determine the country in which you are located.

  • Canadian Apple Store gift cards

    I am new to this website, so I apologize in advance if I have posted in the wrong forum. But I do need some help. I have some Apple Store Gift Cards ( not itunes ) that were purchased in Canada. I want to purchase an Ipad 2 when it comes out and would like to get it engraved, but I understand that can only be done through the Apple online store. Can I use my Apple Store Gift cards to purchase an Ipad online?
    Thank you

    The Canadian Apple Store online does not list gift cards as a payment option.
    http://store.apple.com/ca/help/payments?mco=MTg4Mjg4ODk
    Whereas the US store does list gift cards as an option. We are the same here in the UK - Apple gift cards can't be used online, only in retail Apple Stores
    We can however use iTunes gift cards for apps - hurrah!!
    I could be wrong as like you I don't buy on the Canadian online store. Perhaps the best thing is for the OP to phone the order line and enquire.

    You need an account in the US, a US credit card and billing address, so if you have an account, then go to Settings > iTuens & App Stores > Apple ID > View Apple ID > enter password > Country/Region to change country.

  • Why isn't the Murfie app available on the Canadian Apple store site yet?re

    I recently became a member of Murfie which enables me to store my CDs digitally on their site and stream them from anywhere I happen to be, I can also buy used CDs from other members .
    They have a digital app so you can stream your music from their site.
    Their app is available in the U.S. store but not the Canadian store.
    Just wondering why that would be so.

    OK, then perhaps your web/marketing folks should alter this statement on your web site:
    Unlimited trading with other Murfie members
    to say "Unlimited trading of your physical CDs with other members" to make it more clear what services you actually offer. Being right after the "lossless download formats" statement rather implies that you are allowing trading of the digital copies as well as the physical CDs.
    Regards.

  • Want more content in the Canadian Apple Store!  Can I help?

    I've been getting into downloading and watching shows (granted only way to watch at the moment is via my iPhone and AV cables, but that's another annoyance about iTunes Store - No Linux version)
    Out of the shows that my family is watching iTunes Canada only has about 1%. I see the US and UK stores have a lot more of what we want, about 10%, but I'm unable to download/purchase from there because of my home address. I already, one a week, add show requests to the iTunes Requests link. But I want to do more to get my favourite shows into iTunes Store (Canada).
    Anyone have any ideas, other than pounding the "Feedback" forms with requests? Is there a way to talk or advertise and bring the requests to the studios? Do the studios have to request to iTunes or is it the other way around? or Both?

    Pounding the Apple feedback forms will do no good. The content and relative lack thereof is totally under the control of the various entities that own the rights to distribution of said content in Canada, i.e the record labels, movie studios, etc. It's them you need to be pounding with feedback. Apple would like nothing better than to be able to provide all the content there is, but it's completely up to the owners of the content.

  • Can a Canadian buy a refurbished macbook of the american apple store?

    It seems that the Canadian apple store has only expensive refurbished macbooks that I can't afford. Will I be able to buy a refurbished macbook of the American site and have it shipped to my home a address (in Canada) since the refurbished macbooks are cheaper? If its not possible, can someone recommend a laptop thats under $850 that is good for photo editing?

    No. You must be in the US in order to access the US store. The US store will not ship to Canada.
    Otherwise you could look for something on eBay.
    This is the only refurbished product available for $850 USD:
    *Refurbished MacBook 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo*
    13.3-inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen display

2GB memory

    250GB hard drive

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

Built-in 7-hour battery

  • How do I change my Apple Store ID from US to Canada?

    Hi!
    I am Canadian and I bought my Mac in Canada. When I set my computer, I chose "Canada" as being my country. Also, I entered a Canadian adress for my Apple ID.
    However, when I go on the canadian apple store and try to download an app, its written that I can't because "my Apple store ID is a US'", even though my adress on my Apple ID is in Canada.
    How can I change the country?

    Yeh, wrong thread, but if I'm correct, you should open iTunes, log in on your account there, then view your account information.
    There should be a line like this:
    Try that, you must have used up all your credit though.

  • Apple store help please

    Ok thanks in advance to anyone that will help me...
    I bought a mac book pro with many accesories from the online canadian apple store 2 weeks ago that came up to over 4 000 dollars...I have received it and im moore then happy with it.
    But then now,ive seen many things on the Online US apple store that i realy cant find on the canadian apple store.I realy want those things(hard drive,mac cleaning kit...etc),all that get to another 300 us.
    But its seems like i cant buy from US online apple store and deliver in canada,i ever called apple to ask whats up about it and he said(your in canada you buy from the canada apple store).
    There is a way for me to buy those products and get apple to deliver it to me ?
    Some brand might dont want to garanty their product for people living in canada,i understand but thats not the reason why they wouldnt be delivering those product in canada...
    This is still a ground delivering,i mean im not in iraq there,im living just a couple of hours away from the lines between us and canada...
    I wouldnt be buying for only 75 us there,i would be buying for over 300 us...So i think apple should still consider a free delivery and even if they wouldnt,i would be whilling to pay a lil moore to get the delivery done!
    The costumer support from apple been pretty straight to the point even close of being rude from my point of view.Thats frustrating to see many many moore product available for us than canadian when we are super close of each other...
    My final point is...
    I even ordered a simple cap of not even 70 dollar value from a us store,they still have delivered pretty fast and for low price without any kind of problem...
    Plus would apple just refused to make over an easy 300 us on me just because im in canada?

    Baby boomer,
    Look,are you an admin?no so can you please be quiet and leave the place to people that are realy willing to help other people?
    As i said in the first place,i tried to find where i could post this other than in (using your mbp) but i didnt found any specific place for it.If this forum dont allow me to say stuff like i said then it should have been deleted days and days ago by the forum admin.
    Honnestly i am realy annoyed by people like you,if you dont like my post then just dont read it.Its not your forum and i dont see how by posting this here i could be bothering you.
    In short my question was:
    How can i buy stuff that are for sale on the american online apple store that arent on the canadian one?
    If not then there is any way for me to get those products in canada?
    I dont see what is soo wrong in that guys...
    And i still find it pretty weird that (as an exemple) iklear is for sale on the american online apple store but not on the canadian one...But if you go buy the iklear directly from the brand that make this product,you can easily ship it to canada...
    Plus,as we can read on the apple store(iKlear is the only cleaner Recommended by Apple Tech Support and used by Apple Care).Im i the only one to think its unfair that costumer from canada that buy the so costfully mbp cant even get what is recommended by apple to clear it up?
    Another funny thing,what is on the french canadian online apple store are not the same thing as on the english canadian apple store.
    Im new in apple/mac world,im totaly sold to mac now and i love apple products.But i got to admit that this have realy disapointed me.
    So in the end,to get what i wanted from the american online apple store,i had to order many things from the english canadian apple store and then look on google during many hours to find the best store that could sell/ship me the rest of the things that i couldnt get from apple.

  • Will iphone5S(Purchased in Canada, apple store) work in South Korea in any one of their carrier?

    Hi,
    I have an iphone 5S purchased in Canadian Apple store.
    I checked a list of frequency, however, not quite sure yet.
    Can anyone tell me if my iphone will work in South Korea?
    I am fine with any carrier in South Korea. If any one of their carrier works for me!

    Hi Subala
    Sorry but I've honestly got no idea on that ... I merely mentioned it beacuse it 'could' be a factor. Common sense suggests there wouldn't be any kind of duty payable to send it from the UK, as it was not manufactured there (its already an import). And similarly there ought not to be any kind of import tax at your end either as it's just going back where it came from. But when did common sense have anything to do with it ?
    Tell you what though, postage will be the earth if your getting the full boxed set with all the manuals!
    Cheers
    Andy

  • I am a US citizen in school in Montreal and I was given a US Apple Store gift card. How can I buy the new iPad using my gift card and with a school discount?

    I am a grad student from NYC and at a university in Montreal. I was given a 500$ gift card as a gift to put towards a new ipad. BUT, I apparently cannot use the US gift card in Canada. So, what do I do? I have no time to head back to NYC to get it. I want to order it, but not sure they will ship to montreal...? And was thinking of sending it back to my parents and then have them buy it and mail it to me, but I I think them having to pay tax on this is ridiculous. On top of that, I should be able to garner the ed discount but I dont think the US recognizes Canadian schools in their system and visa versa. SO if I do buy it in the US, I can use my gift card but I can't get the discount. Or if I buy it here in MTL, I can get the discount but I cannot use the gift card..
    Can anyone suggest a solution? all bright ideas welcome.

    You can only use a gift card in the country it was issued in - no way around that as the Apple Store does NOT offer currency exchange with gift cards.
    Nor can you order from the USA online store and ship to any address outside of the USA - again, no way around that as the online stores do NOT ship internationally.
    You could send the gift card back to someone in the USA, to use to purchase your item for you, and then once they receive it, they could ship it to you.  Canada customs will hold it until they collect any import fees and taxes levied on imported consumer electronics though.
    Either that or buy it in Canada with the discount, and use the card later when you get home again.
