  • Cracked Screen and Canadian Support Number, Frustrati

I have a Creative Zen Vision M 30GB and recently the screen cracked. The player still functions, but I need to have this replaced. Now, I have looked through my documentation and perhaps I've lost the right manual, but it is absolutely ridiculous that Creative does not post the contact phone numbers. What kind of 'Award Winning' customer service leaves everyone annoyed by making them find there manual (which MANY people misplace, or even throw out) or search through these forums.
Not to mention the incredibly useless 'Industry Standard' of 90 days on Phone Support. What is going on with Creative? Why not be an 'Industry Leader' rather the scrape by. I mean I first came to Creative products because they used to be better. A player that actually had a AC Adapter included! Might have seemed small, but it was great. This is of course no longer. Now everything is getting worse.
So, what do I do now with the cracked screen, where is the number? And better yet, if you can download or have someone post support numbers elsewhere, WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL having them on a list here. Creative has lost huge points with me for all there shoddy service.
...Now, will this post be deleted or fairly left?

I agree, Creative's customer support is crap.

  • I want to buy a canadian number but that option i ...

I want to get a canadian skype number and i cant seem to?

Not being very up on the new technology I took lots of advice from at least 4 mobile shops, all said that "Drive" was an updated Ovi (which I know well as I have a 5320)).
I also read a few reviews and for instance "The Gadget Website" 25/12/2012 calls it a free satnav service.
The "Teconthego" reported on 11/02/2012- "Nokia drive DOES support offline maps. Originally rumoured to be online only service we can see that Nokia drive supports the downloading of maps...... and is specifically mentioned that you can download map data in a new country without incurring data or roaming costs."
Nokias own website still had ,up till the 7th of Feb when I asked it to take the admitted misinformation down." Get the best route to your destination with free turn by turn voice guided navigation.
"Kennith" of Live Assistance" also on the 7th Feb when asked if it was possible to use Drive without incurring costs said that I would need a data connection. When I said the website called it "free" turn by turn navigation, he asked to go idle for a while, before coming back to me saying that he has"verified that the case is already forwarded to the relevant department to check this. As the website information is incorrect."
The quick quide enclosed with the phone also has a heading Find your way for free. Nothing again is said about needing a data connection.
Carephone website11/02/2012 "Drive is preloaded free- so you don't need an internet connection to us it!"
And as I do not assume shops just make up there own descriptions, the information must have come from Nokia. If it was just me getting the wrong end of the stick I could understand it but, so many experts and Nokia itself seem to have misunderstood how Drive would, in reality work when the phone was put into the market place late last year, and before this new update.

I am based in Quebec Canada and wanted to know if I could have my Canadian cell # as my online skype number?
Also, can I pay with American Express as I work for a US company based in Canada? It does not appear as a payment option on my acct.

Unfortunately, you can't transfer (port) a Canadian phone number - landline, or mobile - to Skype for use as an Online Number.  Skype does not participate in number-portability schemes like we have in North America when moving among other landline and mobile phone carriers.  And, at this time, Skype does not offer any Canadian Online Numbers.
American Express is not accepted by Skype.  This is also unfortunate.

  • ONLINE CANADIAN NUMBER???

I've been a SKYPE user for over  a decade with a US online number. I've relocated to Calgary and want to buy a CANADIAN online number...-but CANADA does NOT even show up in my list of country choices on the online number buy page. WHY?

It's not clear to me that the response from the CRTC addressed the question (or maybe the question was not phrased correctly) as they talked about Skype service, which is clearly an internet based software service, which is clearly out of the jurisdiction of the CRTC.
Skype must already have access to the PSTN since they can terminate calls in Canada and this is not a question of Skype offering service in Canada, because clearly it does.
This is a question of Skype being allowed to allocate Canadian numbers which terminate on a Skype connection. It still might be worthwhile to send more letters to the CRTC to clarify the ruling and whether or not it is a failure of Skype to do something or because there is blocking legislation (in which case, enough public pressure applied and it is possible to change). It is not often that the US and Canadian telecommunications systems are out of sync wrt capabilities.

Skype is more than an "Internet based software service".  In order for Skype to offer Online Numbers in Canada which would tie into the Canadian telephone network, it has to comply with the CRTC's requirement to connect calls to 911 - something it does not do at this time.  That is the hangup.  Either Skype has to provide access to 911 (it is now providing limited access to 999 in the UK and 000 in Australia now, but not for other countries), or the CRTC needs to reclassify Skype as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States has done (Skype is deemed a nomadic VOIP service, which is not required to connect US-based users to 911), and is the case for other countries where Skype has Online Numbers.
You're correct in that telecommunications in the USA and Canada are usually kept in sync.  The issue of Online Numbers in Canada is not a new one for Skype.  It has been a hot topic on this forum in many different discussion threads for a long time.  Until something changes on one side (CRTC changes its regulations to allow services like Skype to offer telephone numbers without the 911 requirement) or the other (Skype sets up another limited circumstance where Canadian users can access 911 from Skype), this won't change.  Even if the CRTC were to make the desired changes to the Canadian telecommunications regulations, then Skype would have to find a partner in Canada willing to offer the Online Number service at a price Skype deems reasonable (since Skype currently doesn't offer Online Numbers at different prices based on the country).

  • Can I set up a Skype to go number for myself?

Can I set up a Skype To Go number in Canada for myself and then give it to friends, family, clients etc. to call me? I just learned Skype doesn't have any Canadian numbers. I'm a Skype video conference subscriber. I probably wouldn't have signed with Skype if I knew they didn't service Canada properly.

    Hello,
    1. Yes this is possible in a limited way. You would need to register each of your family/friends/clients' phones in your Skype To Go program. Only those who are registered could dial your Canadian STG number and have it ring on your Skype or on your phone. You wouldn't be able to give out the number at random because STG will ask for verification if a non-registered phone calls the number.
    2. Unfortunately the Online # program can't be introduced in Canada until the Canadian telco authorities issue the necessary licenses.

  • A few Online Number Questions

First of all, I live in Canada and it doesn't appear that I can get a Canadian online number.  Any idea when that will become available?
Also, is there any way to change the Call Display feature to display not only a business name, but also a number that is DIFFERENT than the online number.  As I cannot get a Canadian online number, I would need the call display to read my business name, and then the local Canadian phone number that I would like people to call (so they avoid long distance charges).
Any help you could provide would be apprecaited.
    KC

    I have a similar question.
Any idea if Online Numbers might be available for India ? Any timeline as of now ?

  • WHEN will online number be available in CANADA?

I would love to have this functionality with Skype.  Ideally, I'd like to have an Alberta area code (403, 587 or 780) or British Columbia area code (250)...
Is this ever going to happen?  In the near future???
Thanks to anyone that might have an answer with insight!

I sympathise with you on this subject.  I have been with Skype for 5 years or more.. I have the unlimited calls to Canada & Usa for $3/month. The service is getting better . I've paid for an american online number for over three years and now dropped it... Always hoping Skype would finally give us a Canadian list of area codes from which to chose... I recently bought a telephone adaptor that connects directly to my router so I don't need anymore to have my computer turned on so I can use the phone...
You know what ? I think Skype does not care a bit about us Canadians.... I have stopped believing they will ever put in the cash and effort in to get us Canadian telephone codes...
The solution : I'll soon get either a MagicJack+ or a NetTalk system... They both offer Canadian telephone codes and they both cost less than Skype for unlimited calls to Canada and USA.... They also both connect directly to your router so you don't need to have a computer running to originate or receive calls with any normal house phone....
I have friends that use both MagicJack+ and NetTalk and I can assure you the service is at least as good if not better than Skype. A Canadian Online number is important to me and getting a different service seems to me the only way to get it.

  • Canada - Bank transit number - routing code

    hello!
I am working in a Belgian company using ECC 6.0 and I have to pay a vendor which is in Canada.
My bank told me i have to add the Canadian routing number (in French : code de transit) before the bank account.
But in SAP, i dont know where should i encode the routing code ... in the field of vendor master data "bank key"?
or just encode the routing code in front of the bank account? (for info, in OY17, SAP only indicates 10 positions for the bank account).
If i encode the routing code in the field "bank key", this routing code doesn't appear in the payment medium.
    So what sould i do?
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Chiachen

  • Skype lists my phone number as Canada for call for...

No matter what I do it shows my number as a Canadian phon number. It is a US based number. The little flag in front of the number is the Canadian flag, I change it to USA and save. I go back in and it is Canada again.

I had the same problem. I went in and added my email address to iMessage and deleted the text to my friends that have iPhones and sent another to test it and it worked. Only thing is now my non iPhone friends don't receive my pic text. I had to turn off iMessage for it to work. Apple needs to fix this ASAP!

  • Calling an AT&T phone using Skype Online Number

    Hi,
I've been pouring through threads about this, but none of them seem to answer my question.
I live in Canada. I have Skype. My Skype has Unlimited World on it. I am looking to call a friend in the United States and he's on AT&T. Would my calling him from my Canadian Skype number count as an international incoming call, or would it just charge him minutes off of his plan?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
The call will be seen as a "local" call.
There are no "international" calls with Skype irrespective of origin.

  • How can i update the phone number associated with my iMessage and FaceTime on my macbook air?

I recently moved to the US from Canada and have a new US #.  I have updated the phone number on my apple ID but the iMessage and FaceTime on my macbook air are still connected to my old Canadian phone number.  How can I update this?  Thanks so much!

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test.

  • OnLine number in Canada - please support DID with ...

    Hi,
I am a long time Skype user and for the last 6 years, all my long distance calls went to Skype. I am as many users willing to get a Skype In number in Canada, I have one in the US for Business, but I need a local one.
I have a North American subscription too, it works well.
While the Skype In / Canada issue is somewhere in limbo, could Skype help us?
I can get a DID number in Canada (a DID number is a virtual number you can re-route to either another land/cell number, with per min charges, or VOIP provider, or even Skype) and can be found as low as $5/month.
I did such a setup (local DID number, rerouted to Skype account, $5 setup fee, $5 monthly fee) and it works fine on my tests.
But then I got an email from Skype, stating: "Here's a quick reminder that Skype's subscriptions are for individual use only and cannot be used with multi-user devices such as PBXs - as stated in our Fair Use Policy. Calls made to landlines or mobiles through multi-user devices will be charged at our standard call rates.". OK, I have a Canadian number, it routes through Skype then it costs me connection fee plus per min fee and ignores my subscription... Worthless then.
The other option for me are multiple, i.e. I can go to MagicJack and get a Canadian local number. But if I do, I have a redundant North American free calling plan, and I will terminate one. Skype, you'll loose a customer. And once I start moving I'll just will try to consolidate as much as I can to the new provider I'll select. Skype looses.
I am not trying to abuse your system, I just want a Canadian local number. Let us use / do support DID numbers in Canada with subscriptions until you get the Canadian Skype In fixed.
Please do allow for now on the use of DID numbers in Canada with subscriptions. I don't mind that you throttle it, let's say 3000 minutes max per month through the DID line. But please let us use subscriptions on that.
If I have to go through the pain of rethinking my entire VOIP setup, you loose a customer &  above 200$ / year. Help me stay with you.

`Yes, I too would like an answer that is actually plausible considering all the light you have shed in your previous statements.
Isn't it time that Canada reaps some of it's investments in service to it's people.
I would greatly use and appreciate a number as well.
    Signed: Still waiting...

  • When will Skype Number be available in Malaysia

  • Setting up Skype To Go Number

Hi everybody, can anyone tell me why can't I set up Skype To Go Number with a Malaysia or China mobile number? Is that skype doesn't support these two countries? Thank you so much!

OK, I just found the solution.
First, there seems 1 BIG restriction that when you are in Canada, you could NOT enter the Canadian phone number in the number field, else you will get the error message 'The number is invalid...'
So I used the following way to fix this problem.
    1. Use USA number for the first time input, for example, some valid number in US, you may use your America friend's number or any valid number by google. I got this working with get the ACCESS number with the same area code in USA.
    2. Manually UPDATE this access number in the right menu selection Nearest Location -> Update, where you can now select the Country (Canada), Location (which province), and manually input your skype-to-go number (possibly your home number or mobile number, or other selected numbers).
    3. After this update, you will see the new access number with your local area code in Canada
Hope this is working for you as well.
