  • How do i request the up-to-date program for macbook pro for mountain lion os x i do not get the processes can someone explain it to me with detail

i cant follow the instructions they do not make sense do i request it when i get the make or when os x is released

The third post (by BitBytr) quotes the page that I am referring to.  If you read it -- either his post, or the web page, you would realize it says ver batim:
Customers who purchase a qualifying Mac between June 11, 2012 and the date when Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store will have 30 days from the OS X Mountain Lion release date to make a request.
Ironically, the fifth post (also by BitBytr) emphasizes the exact same quote.  It's the same statement found in two places on Apple's website.  Why are we even arguing this?
Either way, everyone has referenced Apple's web site.  Congrats, folks.  You have valid references.  But the OP wanted it "Barney style", or broken down to much easier terms to understand, which I feel was provided in my first post.  If anyone disagrees, I welcome corrections or easier wording.  Afterall, we're here to help OP.  Momacandipad, has your question been answered?

  • Up-to-date program for overseas users?

    Hi
Does anyone know whether the up-to-date program (free upgrade to Mountain Lion) is application for customers living outside US/Canada?  The terms and conditions on the website says this offer is only valid for US/Canada customers, which I find a little strange.
I just purchased my mac online and wanted to apply for free upgrade.
    Thanks.

You probably need to contact Apple directly to get a definite answer.
My guess is that you simply should use the country on the receipt, but if you bought it with an Apple account or credit card that uses a US address, that could apply as well.
You do not say where you are stationed, but as far as I know, the deal applies to most countries.
For the other question in this thread, in Danish both "gift" and "giftstof" can be used.

  • Is the Up-To-Date program for iLife'11 available for Bulgarian customers ?

    Hi,
I heard about the Up-To-Date upgrade program for iLife'11.
When it will be available for customers from Bulgaria who purchased their computers from bulgarian Apple Premium Reseller stores ?

If your eMac were eligible you would have had to exercise your option within thirty days.

  • What is the best data program for the iPad to keep costs at a minimum?

My daughter needs to get a data program from Verizon to supplement her iPhone 5 when traveling without wi-fi. Her current usage is a lot of youtube streaming. What is the best option to keep things under control? Prepaid? Thanks.

This would be speech recognition software. There is only one satisfactory product for this available on Macs - Dragon Dictate. From my limited experience it works exceptionally well given the state of the technology.
It will require an appropriate microphone for best results plus the willingness to commit several hours to train the program to your voice. It can be used in most word processors/editors as well as work with many different applications' commands and OS commands.

Just updated the PowerMac G5 to 10.5.8 (Apple sold me an update).  Now Classic Environment (ClarisWorks) won't work and all my word documents and data base (have them backed up) won't work.  What should I buy to do word processing and data that will also read the old documents?

Hello, Appleworks 6 still runs in 10.5/10.6, if you can find a copy, & it opens most if not all .cwk files.

  • Hardware up-to-date program: approximate time?

    Hello
I recently bought a new iMac and I am told that I am eligible for a free hardware up-to-date program for Lion.
I have sent all the necessary details and have a claim code. I called the Apple support about this and they have said that I should get it soon.
Just wanted to know how much time should it take to get the upgrade code? I was told by apple support that, due to heavy load and too many number of requests for upgrade, the process is slow. Anybody knows how much time it may take?
    Please let me know.
    Cheers.
    Gopal

You have every right to call Apple for an update.  You can also visit http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/

What are you talking about ? Do we need to send a mail after making the demand to get the code ?

  • Is mountain lion free for lion users

is mountain lion free for lion users

Keep in mind, as soon as that's offered, if it is offered, that's the time buy from a store a Lion installed Mac.  That way, in event you have Lion compatible software which hasn't been tested with Mountain Lion, at least you'll have the option to stick with Lion until Mountain Lion is ready for you.  So keep your eye on http://www.apple.com/pr and http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate/ once summer begins.  Apple has offered up to date programs for a long time, typically up to three weeks prior to the release date, and given you a chance to know when the release date is.  If you order online though, and they are out of stock, you may be stuck with a Mountain Lion only compatible machine.  An authorized Apple retailer should be able to carry at least some models through http://www.apple.com/buy/ so check their stock at that time for what you desire.

  • Up-to-date program (iWork and iLife)

I have problem downloading iWork from Mac app store after receive redeem code from up-to-date program. I can use redeem code to download iWork but there was internet connection problem occur during download Page and keynote (I can finish download Number only). I can’t use this redeem code to try download again and it does not appear to resume download in purchase page of Mac app store. I have also tried the following
              1. Sign out my apple ID from Mac app store and sign in again, go to purchase page and found that it appear in "other purchase” tab in the purchase page with message in red color that “An error has occurred”.
              2. Click “Store” -> “Check for unfinished download” function from the menu bar and found message that “All purchases have been downloaded for this account” and no way to resume downloading.
Moreover, after update to OS X 10.9, it doesn’t come with iLife. I can download Garageband from Mac app store for free but it will charge $14.99 each for iPhoto and iMovie.
I have also email to apple by replying to the email which apple sent me the redeem code for up-to-date program ([email protected]). I'm not sure that if it will reach apple support or not becaue I'm not sure that if it some kinds of automatic reply email, However, I can't find any email that I can contact.
I have also called apple support but it appear to be not working time for them when I called. I'm not available at their working time to call them. But I will try to call them if there is no way to find anyway to solve this.
Therefore, could anyone tell me how to finish downloading Pages, Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie as I should receive these all apps for free? I would appreciate it if anyone can help.
    Thank you

  • Best anti virus/malware for Lion

What is the recommended anti virus/malware program for Lion now?  The tech sites are suggesting that the time has come to install a security program becasue of recent attacks.

Nothing is recommended. ClamXav or Sophos seem to be the choice of some that feel they need it.
    Good Luck

  • What number should I put in "Number of Qualifying system for right to copy" in OS mountain lion up-to-date program form?

what number should I put in "Number of Qualifying system for right to copy" in OS mountain lion up-to-date program form? I'm a newbie on mac, just bought MBA two weeks ago. I've tried software update but it is not upgraded to mountain lion. what should I do to upgrade for free?

    I'm on the page "https://uptodate.apple.com/UtdPrepareAction?program=Mountain%20Lion&locale=en_au"
and I still have the same question as the original poster, what number should I enter into the field:
"Number of qualifying systems".. cause "1" doesn't do it.. and the other numbers don't work... >:___:<
