Canadians Can't Buy Apps With Itunes Credit?

I just purchased $75 worth of itunes canadian credit and I put them on my account thinking it will work. I went to purchase an app and all of a sudden I have to buy with a credit card instead of the credit I already have on my account. Apple can you seriously make it so us canadians aka consumers able to purchase apps with the credit we purchased from you.

* Not allow expiry dates on gift cards, gift certificates, and vouchers that have been purchased and have monetary value
* Eliminate inactivity fees, also called dormancy fees, that reduce the value of gift cards the longer they go unredeemed
* Prevent businesses from not honouring gift cards for purchases that are
more or less than the value of a gift card
* Require merchants to fully disclose any restrictions on use of a gift card on both the actual card and its packaging
To further my point, Apple definately does not abide by the last law (at least in the rest of Canada), as they say nothing on the card or its packaging about not being able to buy apps with it.

My wife and I previously shared the same AppleID on our phones. When the family sharing became available, it seemed the perfect approach for what we were accomplishing. I upgraded my wife's phone to 8.x and then moved her back to the Apple ID that I had initially created for her. I invited her to join the family and completed that setup.
We then had some iTunes gift cards that she had received and so loaded those to her iTunes account (wife's AppeID) on her iPad. However, when we attempt to purchase apps on her iPad, it insists on purchasing from my AppleID via my credit card rather than using the iTunes credit.

Cant buy apps with itunes credit

I just recently got a giftcard but i cant buy apps with it, it says it will be charged to my credit card but i got over 50 dollars in store credit

Just to be clear, you have a US address on your iTunes account, you are buying from the US Apps Store and it is giving you a message that you cannot buy Apps with an iTunes Gift Card? (Not an Apple Gift Card, and iTunes Gift Card).
If it is an iTunes Gift Card, did you have any problem loading it on your iTunes Account on your computer?

Can I buy apps with phone credit?

If I can't buy apps with ituned card in Canada - how do I get my money back

I don't want the cards if I can't use them to buy apps, so how do I get my money back? They sell the cards with the presumption that you can use them to buy anything thru itunes but after they are redeemed and you try to use them, they don't work! I want a refund!

Can't sync apps with itunes

I've having issues syncing my newly purchased apps with iTunes now and it says that my device has not been authorized with this computer. This is not the case, I've been syncing to the same computer and it has been authorized for years. I'm thinking this might be an update issue because everything has been working fine right up to when I did my upgrade of the iOS last week. This was the first time I actually plugged my iPhone into my computer since the upgrade. Things seem to go fine except when it tried to sync my apps and it then gave me the warning that my iPhone was not authorized to transfer the apps to iTunes. I went in to authorize the device in iTunes and it says my iPhone is authorized. So now I have an app I can't transfer to my computer and I suspect that if I had also purchased music, this would also not transfer.
Something is up. I don't think they have all the bugs worked out on the iOS5 update and iTunes. So, anyone having the same issue since the upgrade and/or anyone have a solution?

Try deauthorizing the phone in itunes then reauthorize it.

I can't buy apps with my iTunes gift card!

I bought an iTunes gift card and when I redeemed it, there was a thing saying that my account had $15.00 on it. But when I tried to buy apps and music, it asked me to pay by credit, even though iTunes clearly knows that I entered the card. What gives?

Can't update apps with iTunes

Hi!
iTunes shows me that there are 4 updates for apps (for the iPhone/iPod Touch) available but everytime I click the "x Updates available"-message iTunes does something online and shows then the message:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occured (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
I have this problem since I installed iTunes 8. The count for the available updates increases and I can buy apps through the Appstore in iTunes and can also buy music.
I restarted iTunes and my computer, nothing helped.
Any ideas?

How do I stop my children from buying apps on their i pod touches? I have removed my credit card details but they still seem to be able to buy apps on our account!

Telling them not to do it worked when my kids were under forty.
Dedeuct the costs of the apps from whatever money they probably expect from you.

You can use your account's credit, but if it doesn't cover the purchase price then you will need to have a credit card on your account so that the remainder can be charged to it.
If you are in the US then you need to add on your state's sales tax to the app's listed price - would that take it over the $152.43 that you have ?
