Canadians loading videos/movies onto one's ipod

...does anyone know if one can yet purchase movies (or any videos for that matter) onto itunes and then onto one's ipod video? ....oh, ....and how does one load DVD's of movies onto itunes and then onto the ipod? .....

Here's a step by step.
1) Install Instant Handbrake from http://download.m0k.org/handbrake/testing/Instant-HandBrake-20060421.dmg.
2) Insert your DVD you want to rip.
3) Open Instant Handbrake
4) Select the settings you want. An example can be found here: http://download.m0k.org/handbrake/images/HandBrake-2006042100.jpg. I would recommend turning subtitles off for iPod viewing.
5) Select the title that contains the movie. It is usually the one with the longest run time. Just put a check mark in the box.
6) Click convert and wait! Conversion takes no less than the run time of the DVD. (60 minute movie = 60 minutes to convert, but could be faster).
7) After conversion is complete, quit Instant Handbrake.
8) Open iTunes. Go to File -> Import and navigate to your movies folder. There you will find a file named with the DVD name, file format, title number, etc. Click import. If you have iTunes set to automatically copy files to the iTunes music folder (you can check under the advanced tab of preferences), you can safely delete the original file from your Movies folder.
9) Plug in your iPod and sync!

Burning 2 quicktime movies onto one DVD using iDVD

I wonder if you could help me.
I have 2 Quick time movies - created in FCP - one hour and 10 mins each . Is it possible to put both on one DVD using iDVD? (one is the front view and other side view of a performance).
I have version 5.0.2 iDVD and am burning on desktop G5
Both movies have chapter markers (created already in FCP)
Is it possible to do this and how do I do it using the right menu and proper theme etc- and right method of importing or loading the movies.
Any suggestions?

Hello Nan,
a Single Layer DVD can hold a maximum of 120 min of video (incl. menus), so either you burn 2 SL DVDs or try to put both movies on a Double Layer DVD, provided you have a burner capable of writing DL DVD.
how do I do it using the right menu and proper theme etc- and right method of importing or loading the movies.

Load 1080p movies onto iPhone 4S

One of the things I do at work is test and program displays and projectors for large. one of the reasons I bought the 4S is because it can handle 1080p out. on a very large screen, 720p is very noticable. what i'm finding out is it can record 1080p and with the AV adapter you can play them in 1080p onto a screen, but you can't load any movies in the same format that are 1080p onto the device. I havwe tried numerous formats with different bitrates, compression rates etc and iTunes won't let me place them on my phone....
Is there any way around this or a solution I am not catching? It would be nice to carry around the iPhone 4S and the AV cable, and not have to carry a Blu-Ray player, a Blu-Ray movie, and the power cables over to each device.

Is there something special about notes, messages and list of previous calls?
Using the Ibackupbot I could nicely open my backup files and saw that everything is stored in there. I copied the fotos from the backup to my Iphone 4S without a problem and the apps to. Some of the saved app data was also transfered. Then I also tried to transfer notes, messages and list of previous calls and although the program claims that everything was transfered successfully, I can see nothing of those on the iphone.
And while we are at trying stuff: using a backup with encryption also does not help. I don't really know what else to try. Except for just ignoring all these files...
so: still no clue whats wrong.

I understand how to burn a single iMovie project onto a dvd by using the share menu to share with iDVD. But how can i burn multiple iMovie projects with iDVD onto one disc??

You can share the first movie from iMovie, but all the others will need to be exported from iMovie as movies and dragged into the iMovie project.

Need help loading flv movie onto stage from a button click

Hi folks, I need your help.
I'm new to flash so please bear this in mind.
My problem is this:
I have a picture of a phone on the stage which I have made
into a button.
What I want is that, when I click on this button (phone_btn),
my video (called 'TyreChange.flv') will appear on the stage. And I
will have the option of removing the video to get rid of it from
the screen.
The stage is like a menu, where I can click a number of
objects and the relevant video or element will appear.
The TyreChange video is in the same folder as my project but
I have not imported it into the library. If I do that, the video
goes onto the stage as well as the library, and it appears as the
name FLVPlayback for some reason.
I only want the video on the stage when the user clicks the
'phone_btn' button.

I am also trying to determine if a child is on the stage and if it is, remove it. I have created a button that will jump back on the timeline and the mc's that were loaded after this point in time.
This looks like it should work. It doesn't give me any errors but the mc remains on the stage.

How can I get 20 different movies onto one dvd and have them play consecutively?

I am having a hard time converting all of the videos I've taken of my kids from my iphone onto a dvd. I would like the videos to play consecutively as if we were watching home movies from our regular video recorder. How can I convert my videos to one dvd?

If the total playing time for all of the videos is less than 120 minutes create a slideshow in iDVD and add the movies to it in the order you want them to play. Select any slide duration time except manual. Do not add any music to the slideshow as it will override the audio in the video files and do not add any transition as it won't be a smooth transition.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Mp4 video download onto 5th generation ipod

Does anyone know if MP4 video from an MP4 camcorder is downloadable onto a 5th generation ipod? I have downloaded podcasts and video purchased from itunes, but I would like to make some home movies that can be added to my ipod. Before I invest in the MP4 video equipment, I'd like to know for sure this is possible. Can someone tell me?

Not All Music, Video, & Movie Files Copying To iPod, Following Restore???

I just restored my iPod to factory settings.
I have converted all of my videos and movies the same way.
I just tried copying all of the episodes from a TV Show (from only 1 season) and the first 6 episodes copy over, then the rest don't copy over to the iPod and the uploading to the iPod ceases...?
I am currently uploading MP3s and the uploading of the songs ceased after 97 songs...?

And you have no back up of this valuable music? The iPod is simply not reliable enough to keep the only copy of your music etc stored on it.
Try iPodDisk. This is a program designed to transfer music from iPod to computer.
Similar programs are Expod, Yamipod, Senuti and Music Rescue.
If you want to retrieve playlists, iPodRip has the feature enabling you to reconstruct them.
All of these methods require the iPod to have a valid library file and for the programs to be able to read it. I don't know how successful you will be in salvaging the music is the file/iPod is corrupted (as appears to be the case).

Loading my itunes onto a new IPOD nano

How can I combine two separate video projects onto one DVD with a common menu?

In PE 3 I have a finished video project and a separate slideshow that I want to include together on the same DVD with a common menu. I would like the slide show to be accessible from the main menu of the DVD, something like: "Play Movie" and "Play Slideshow". How do I do it?

Unable to load home movies

I have a Sony Digital Handycam. I have a new Pavilion g7-1150 Notebook, with Widows 7. What do I have to open in order to load home movies onto the computer. I tried hooking up with a firewire,with no recognition from the computer.

I think I've answered my own question! I'm using a Nano and I'm betting it won't run videos, right? Meanwhile my wife's iPod 5G has updated successfully.

You don't have to buy new if you don't want to.
I've bought numerous Apple portables on eBay, but you really have to know what you're doing. Trial and error is not a way to go on such an expensive item.

Which one is for you depends on what you want. In March, I bought the first new Mac I've had since 2003, having upgraded over and over again through eBay.
I decided on the 13-inch MacBook Pro because I wanted a FireWire port and an SD card slot. Your needs may be different from mine.
If you decide to buy used, I can recommend either the MacBook 2.0 or 2.16 (we have one of each). When buying used, I won't buy unless the original system discs are included. Also, if the OS has been upgraded, I won't buy unless the Install disc(s) of the upgraded OS is/are included in my purchase, too. Both of the ones I bought still had a bit AppleCare coverage left on them (which means they were somewhat less than three years old when I bought them). Make sure the eBay seller has recent positive Feedback. If you're not familiar with eBay, then it probably isn't a good idea to start with such an expensive purchase.
Any MacBook will be a spectacular upgrade over the iBook you have now. Whatever you decide, good luck.
