Cancel a call transfer in Lync 2013

Hi,
Is it possible to cancel a transferred call using either the Lync 2010 or 2013 clients, either because the call isn't being answered or you've selected the wrong contact to transfer to.
Unless the user does a consultative transfer this seems impossible so all tips gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi,
I don't think you can do this with a blind transfer once the call has been passed off. Depending on the device / client that you are using to transfer the call however, you might be able to leverage 'Safe Transfer' functionality.
Matt Landis has written a concise overview article
here in relation to its use within the operation of the Lync attendant client, but also lists some useful nuggets of information including clients that support this. It should be noted though that there are now additional desk phones on the market
that have been qualified for Lync since Matt wrote that article which also support Safe Transfer.
Kind regards
Ben

    Anybody out there having similar problems with call pickup Groups?

    Hi,
    Did you meet any other call delay when you using Lync?
    As the issue happen for Lync desktop client, it can be performance issue. Please check if there is any error message from FE Server when the issue happen.
    Also please check if you have updated Lync Server to the latest version, if not, update it and then test again.

  • Call transfer from Lync 2010 attendant failing

    Hello,
    We are having an intermittent fault with a customer whereby calls into the Reception (Response Group, Attendant routing, Lync 2010 Attendant consoles) connect fine, and the first leg of the consultative transfer (to the internal extension) works fine, however
    when the attendant tries to put the call through it pauses then bounces back with an option to retrieve. The call can be retrieved, she tries again and it goes through fine. Due to the high volume of calls this is becoming a massive issue which may result
    in us having to remove Lync EV and install a traditional PBX, so any help would be appreciated. Here's the topology:
    Lync 2013 Standard Edition
    Audiocodes Mediant 1000 with SIP and ISDN30 PSTN lines
    Aastra 6725ip Handsets
    Lync 2010 Attendant Consoles
    Here's a list of what's been tried currently (in no particular order):
    Disabling media Bypass
    Removing Refer to Gateway
    Removing Centralized Media Processing
    Upgrading Firmware of the Audiocodes
    Upgrading the Aastra handset Lync PE to latest
    Patching Lync 2013 Windows Client
    Patching Lync 2010 Attendant Console (July 2013)
    Rebuilding on Physical server as instead of Virtual
    We have tried to capture the OCS Util logs from the FE but cannot see anything. In the monitoring and archiving reports I see this from the server:
    52095; reason="Media session terminated on internal client error"
    And this from the client:
    52095; reason="Media session terminated on internal client error"; OriginalPresenceState="0"; CurrentPresenceState="0"; MeInsideUser="Yes"; ConversationInitiatedBy="0"; SourceNetwork="0"; RemotePartyCanDoIM="No"

  • AA unable to transfer to Lync 2013, but only on User dial plans

    The current environment has two Lync 2013 standard edition servers.  Lync 2010 is still in existence, and both pools are connected to an Exchange 2010 SP2 UM server.
    UserA is part of the default Global dial plan in Lync and part of a UM dial plan named Global.  UserA has been moved to Lync 2013 pool.
    UserB is part of a user dial plan in Lync named UserDialPlan and a UM dial plan named UserDialPlan.  UserB has been moved to Lync 2013 pool.
    Both dial plans have their own route/pstn usage tied to their own sip trunk from Intelepeer.  Both UM dial plans have an AA identically configured with key mapping #1 tied to dial the 11 digit phone number of the user.  Both users can successfully
    be dialed directly via PSTN.
    If I call Global’s AA and press 1, the call is successfully connected and rings through to UserA.
    If I call UserDialPlan’s AA and press 1, I get “Sorry I couldn’t transfer you to the extension” and the UM server logs shows errors 1079 and 1136:
    1079 The VoIP platform encountered an exception Microsoft.Rtc.Signaling.OperationFailureException: Failed to transfer, successful refer notification not received
    1136 An error occurred while transferring a call to "15552735555". Additional information: The call transfer type is "Blind.", the transfer target is "phone number", and the caller
    ID is: "0ed8114d-a068-41be-9790-9342d0a02d7b".
    If I switch the ip address of our sip trunk back to the Lync 2010 mediation server and alter the Lync topology to connect that trunk back to the 2010 server, then these transfers start working again.  This goes for other
    user dial plans as well.  What I don’t understand is why the Global dial plan would work on 2013 and the user dial plans will not.  Refer is disabled on the trunk config (has been for
    over 2 years).  I assume if it was a general setting like that, the Global plan wouldn’t work either, but what is it that’s special about the Global plan vs. user plans?
    Any thoughts would be great, thanks!

    I have the same issue. I can actually transfer to extensions when it is speech enabled and I say the person's name. However if I try a key mapping to transfer to the same user using the Extention I get the same "Sorry I couldn't transfer you to the extension"
    An error occurred while transferring a call to "151". Additional information: The call transfer type is "Blind.", the transfer target is "phone number", and the caller ID is: "4813feae-2a10-4d33-9612-ee4bccf7c0f9".

  • Exchange UM call transfer and call forward.

    Hello all,
    Looking for some ideas with an issue with Exchange UM call transfer and Lync call forward.
    Environment details:
    Lync Server 2013 Enterprise Edition
    Exchange 2010 UM
    AudioCodes M3K with PRI connectivity.
    Here are the scenarios:
    Scenario 1:
    Call comes in via PSTN to Exchange Auto Attendant.
    Caller enters user extension
    Exchange Calls User
    User has Lync Client forwarded to mobile cell phone.
    User's Mobile cell phone will ring but user does not answer.
    After about 3 rings, Exchange will interrupt the transfer and say "Sorry, I cannot transfer you to that extension"
    On the Exchange UM server event log, we see the following event: "
    An error occurred while transferring a call to
    [email protected]. Additional information: The call transfer type is "Blind.", the transfer target is "phone number", and the caller ID is: "a12b63b6-0da0-424d-87b1-b11bde4685ca".

    Scenario 2:
    Call comes in via PSTN to Exchange Auto Attendant.
    Caller enters user extension

    User's Mobile cell phone will ring but user presses ignore on cell phone
    Once ignore is pressed, cell phone voicemail will pickup so Exchange will complete the transfer.
    I'm don't believe Exchange UM has a no-answer timeout setting for call transfer and i'm not sure if a setting on the gateway can resolve the issue. Any ideas on how to resolve scenario 1?
    Thanks,
    Prashanth

    Can you confirm that you haven't enabled voicemail escape?

  • Call Pickup - Users experience One Way Audio when using Call Pickup Orbit to pickup internal calls with internal Lync 2010 Callers

    Hi
    Noticed an issue where when using Call Park Function with users you receive one way audio when answering the call
    The scenario is
    1) If a user is internal and is homed on Lync 2010 Pool and calls an internal user who is homed on a Lync 2013 Pool and another internal user homed on a Lync 2013 Pool picks up the call with Call Pick Up orbit, Lync 2010 users only hears one way audio and
    same for user who has picked up call
    2) If the scenario is an External PSTN call or another Lync 2013 user these calls are fine
    In Lync Tracing logs a SIP/2.0 481 Call Leg/Transaction Does Not Exist error is returned
    Is this a known bug or expected behavior - Call Pickup is basically useless until all users are migrated to Lync 2013 as there is no way of a user knowing whether call is internal or external and if the user is on Lync 2010 or 2013, obviously in my
    large organization 2000 users no an overnight thing
    Coupled with the fact no Team Call Group\ Simultaneous Ring can be in place for Call Pickup to work im thinking Call Pick Up is not going to happen for awhile
    Is there any fixes\ developments that may help this issue or is there a setting I am missing

    Hi,
    Please install latest update for Lync Server 2010 and 2013.

  • Exchange AA transfer to extension to Lync 2013

    I'm having issues getting the Exchange AA to transfer to extensions when using key mapping. Basically you can say a person's name and it will transfer to their extension just fine but not with the key mapping.
    We are using Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4 with Lync 2013 Hosting Pack.
    I found the issue but not sure how to go about resolving it.
    Lync User: [email protected]
    Lync Extension: +15554443333;ext=151
    Exchange Extension: 151
    Dial plan in Lync 2013 will convert 3-digit numbers to: +15554443333;ext=$1 for these users
    Each company has their own dial plan. This particular dial plan in Lync translates the 3-digit to the full number. The problem is the transfer from Exchange AA to Lync doesn't seem to use the user's dial plan. I also cannot put a translation on the Exchange
    side to do this type of format: +15554443333;ext=$1
    It looks like with the key mapping it is trying to transfer to this:
    REFER-TO: <sip:151;[email protected];user=phone>
    P-ASSERTED-IDENTITY: <sip:[email protected]>
    But of course that doesn't exist. The SIP for this user is sip:[email protected]
    I ran the Lync Debugging utility and saw this:

    Hi,
    You need create a UM auto-attendant for each Lync Server dial plan with the following command:
    New-umautoattendant -name <auto attendant name> -umdialplan < name of dial plan created in step 1> -PilotIdentifierList <auto attendant phone number in E.164 format> -SpeechEnabled $true -Status

  • Lync 2013 PSTN calling not working with Sonus SBC 1000 over TLS and SRTP

    Dear All,
    We have recently installed Lync 2013 Enterprise Edition with a Pool of 3 FE Servers (MEDIATION COLLOCATED).
    We need to implement TLS and SRTP with Sonus SBC 1000. However calls are not routing b/w SBC and Lync.
    We are using wild card certificate with multiple SIP Domains as SAN(s), for internal FE servers as well SBC.
    Also i would like to mentioned here that inbound and outbound calls are routing properly when we tested it over TCP.
    When I move to TLS Only calls from Lync to SBC (outgoing) are working without encryption.
    Here are the OCS Logger traces for incoming calls which are not landing on lync:

  • Lync 2013 call forwarding (working and non-working scenario)

    Hi guys!
    We are trying to solve a non-working scenario in Lync 2013 voip calling.
    SCENARIO 1 that does not work:
    Person A with a mobile phone calls Person B who's telephone number is not located on Lync SIP TRUNK. Person B answers the call and then he wishes to transfer this call to Person C. He call Person C until he hears call ringing tone from him
    and then he transfer this call to him. When Person C answer the call he does not hear Person A and call get's disconnected after cca. 20seconds.
    SCENARIO 2 that does work:
    Person A with a mobile phone calls Person B who's telephone number is not located on Lync SIP TRUNK. Person B wishes to transfer this call to Person C who's number is located on Lync SIP trunk. In this scenario he first wait that Person C
    answer/accept his call, then he transfer call from Person A to him. This way Person C is able to hear Person A.
    Anyway how to figure it out if this is a problem on provider side or on Lync 2013 server side?
    with best regards,
    bostjanc

    Refer support wasn't set to none.
    If we change it to none, and restart Mediation service, unfortunatelly there are no differences.
    We have also tried editing: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Mediation Server\MediationServerSvc.exe.config
    FROM:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <configuration>
      <runtime>
        <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
      </runtime>
    </configuration>
    TO:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <configuration>
    <appSettings>
                    <add key="20.20.20.20.ReferredBySupported" value="true"/>
        </appSettings>
      <runtime>
        <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>
      </runtime>
    </configuration>
    But that didn't do anything useful.

  • Lync 2013 Mobility Client - Video Call Issue (Everything Else works).

    Hey Technet’ies,
    I have been struggling for a couple of weeks now to resolve one of the final issues with a Migration/Upgrade Project on Lync Server 2013.
    I have nearly every Lync Client Scenario working well except the Mobility Client (outside of the domain) which cannot successfully complete a Video
    Call to a Windows Desktop Client (inside the domain) – the toast pops up, but when we click accept - it just times out after 15 seconds
    K
    The strange thing is every other Video Call scenario works;
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
    àWindows Desktop Client (Inside Domain)
    = Unsuccessful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
    à Windows Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Inside Domain)
    à Windows Desktop Client (Outside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)

    Mobility Client (Outside Domain)
    à Mac Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Successful
    Mobility Client (All Scenarios)
    à Mobility Client (All Scenarios) = Successful
    Our setup is pretty standard;
    All OS servers are Win Server 2012 R2
    Lync 2013 Standard FE Server
    Lync 2013 Edge Server
    Reverse Proxy IIS AAR (Also Win Server 20012 R2)
    Lync 2013 Desktop Clients, Lync 2011 Mac Clients, IOS and Android Mobility Clients – all latest versions.
    External NAT (via Cisco Routers ACL’s)
    Internal Windows Firewall Currently off on all Servers
    All Certs / DNS Configured as per Technet Recommendation
    I have reviewed / analysed a number of log/trace files – looking for some/any information on the problem;
    Mobility Client (cmlogX.log)
    Windows Desktop Client (*.etl) / Microsoft Message Analyzer
    Lync 2013 Server (CSController)
    With all my looking I could not make out an error except a timeout (15 seconds) on the Mobility Client log (which I currently can’t find).
    Clearly we are missing something and I have gone up and down our implementation a number of times, the only semi-unknown is our old 2010 Pool / Central Management Server (which is currently pretty much redundant but the majority of users still on).
    I would really appreciate any feedback anyone can provide or any insight anyone may have on this challenge.
    Thanks in advance, Alex.
    Alex

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the quick contact!!
    Sorry - typo in my post, I have now corrected it;
    Mobility
    Client (Outside Domain) àWindows
    Desktop Client (Inside Domain) = Unsuccessful
    So I completely missed that blog post of yours (out of the 100's I have read) and you are the first person to clearly say (in simple terms) to point the lyncweb.contso.com to the public IP address on my internal DNS, I have just made that change and see
    if it will correct the issue - will wait for replication.
    Also I am running IIS / AAR as Reverse Proxy (not ISA) and had the Internal DNS Host A of lyncweb.contso.com and lyncdiscover.contso.com point back to my Reverse Proxy Internal NIC (i.e. 10.1.1.32) as the External NIC is isolated on in the Perimeter Network,
    is this correct?
    So it now goes like this
    *Inside Domain*
    lyncdiscover.contson.com --> 10.1.1.32 (Reverse Proxy Internal Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
    lyncweb.contson.com --> 201.183.0.1 (Reverse Proxy External Nic - Public IP) --> 10.1.2.16 (Reverse Proxy External Nic) --> 10.1.1.26 (Front End Server)
    Does this make any sense, I know ISA and IIS/AAR are pretty much interchangeable.
    Thanks again Andrew and look forward to any feedback,
    Alex.

  • Lync 2013 Click to Call inserts icon with no src

    Hi,
    We have a SP2010 farm and are about to enable Lync 2013 Click to Call for the business
    We have one problem with publishing pages though
    When we edit a page and enter a phone number the click 2 call icon appears after a second and looks fine, however, all the HTML the IE plugin generates for the icon gets inserted with the HTML source and after publishing the icon has no src attribute, it
    looks something like
    <a title="Call: +a number..." href="#" style="overflow:hidden;cursor:hand;border-top:medium none;height:16px;border-right:medium none;vertical-align:middle;white-space:nowrap;right:0px;border-bottom:medium none; !important;float:none;left:0px;margin:0px;border-left:medium none;display:inline;top:0px;width:16px;bottom:0px"><img title="Call: +a number.. alt="" style="overflow:hidden;cursor:hand;border-top:medium none;height:16px;border-right:medium none;vertical-align:middle;white-space:nowrap;right:0px;border-bottom:medium none; !important;float:none;left:0px;margin:0px;border-left:medium none;display:inline;top:0px;width:16px;bottom:0px"></a>
    As you understand there's no image, just a white box with a black border which doesn't look good so for the moment I have to hide it with css
    Any ideas on how to make SharePoint not save that HTML in edit mode but still display the icon once published?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi MSGL82,
    I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    As the issue happen only for Lync Mac client, so it should be the of Lync Mac client.
    You can try to perform a Clean Uninstall for Mac Lync client and then test again.

    thanks Holger for u r replay .
    due to the Microsoft article about the cu :
    I run only :
    Install-CsDatabase -ConfiguredDatabases -SqlServerFqdn FEBE.FQDN -Verbose
    Note In a coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 and in which the Central Management Service is located on a Lync Server 2010 pool, do not run the
    Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase command. If you later move the Central Management Service to a Lync Server 2013 pool, you have to run the
    Install-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase command to apply the changes.

  • Lync 2013 Call Quality Reporting Time Intervals

    Does anyone know the time interval used to report the metrics associated with the Lync 2013 call quality reports?  If so, is there documentation that confirms that?
    For example, Max Packet Loss Rate gives you a percentage.  However, I haven't found any documentation that says how long a sample period is.  Was that Max Packet Loss rate experienced for, at least, 1 second, 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 mintue etc?
    I haven't found any conclusive information regarding how long of a period they may have experienced that max packet loss number, nor at what point during the call.
    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hi,
    The network health is expressed by the number of poor audio streams, where a poor stream is defined as having a packet loss rate over 1 percent and a maximum packet loss rate over 5 percent.
    You can refer to the following two links to understand it easliy:

  • How to configure Outlook 2013 to call direct from within the application without using Lync 2013?

    I have Outlook 2013 running on Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit with Lync 2013 (Office 365 Pro). We are using a 3rd party TAPI app from FortiVoice. WE would like to be able to place calls directly from
    within Outlook either by selecting a telephone number within an email and/or via the PEOPLE (Contacts) area.
    What guidelines should we use to enable this feature and not have Lync 2013 intercepting the process i.e. let OUTLOOK handle placing calls?
    Thanks in advance for any feedback provided.

    Hi,
    There seems no solution for this issue so far.
    Here is a fix for older versions of Outlook, maybe worth a try.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959625/en-us
    However, if it doesn’t work, please try Malte’s reply as the workaround in the following thread. See:

    Thanks.
