Cancel a line after buddy upgrade

I'm part of a family plan and used a buddy upgrade a couple years ago, and that line is a few months away from being able to upgrade. Because I used someone else's upgrade, they used mine recently, so "my" contract is until 2014 now. Will I be able to cancel my line when the other person's upgrade is available without paying an ETF?

Hi andreec95,  It would be break my heart to see you go!  May I ask why you are considering ending your service?  I can confirm as the other users stated that the contract is specific for each line.  If an upgrade is alternated, the original line eligible for the upgrade is responsible for the contract.  I hope we can restore you confidence in us and help keep you as a customer!
Thank You,

  • How do I go back to my original blog design when after I upgraded firefox my top border changed to go only halfway across the page and a line now runs down the middle of my blog? Not on other computers, just mine.

I would just like my blog to return to its original format with no line down the middle of the page and the top border going across the entire page not just halfway. This happened immediately after I upgraded to Firefox 6. My blog's format is normal on other computers but not normal on my computer. Thank you.

Can you attach a screenshot and maybe post a link?
Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed the maximum file size (1 MB).
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.
    *<b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

  • Error in SM59 TCP/IP connection after kernel upgrade to 215..

    Hi
We recently upgraded our kernel to patch 215(NW 7.0)..
We built the kernel by first taking the entire kernel stack( level 201) and then  patched it with dw, enserver, lib_dbsl, tp, r3trans, r3inlpgm, saposcol with level = 215 except for lib_dbsl, which is 214 and enserver which is 207...
After the upgrade to this new level, we have a SM59 TCP/IP connection which calls an RPG program located in /qsys.lib/..(start on application server radio option), which has stopped working...
Now this RFC doesn't work anymore...

This error may be due to kernel patch level. You can try some other patch level. If you can raise an OSS message with SAP, they can tell you exactly which Kernel patch will solve your problem.

    HI,
In Message Menu > Preference > Accounts you should at least have the iMessage Account (Which is Enabled) and th Bonjour one that most likely is not.
After that if you had iChat type AIM valid Screen Names or Jabber IDs in an earlier OS then the System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars should list them and have them set to be used with Messages.
There is a vague chance that you have not set these up yet (you can do it in Messages or Mail, Contacts and Calendars)
Once you have a t least one other "Account" other than th iMessage one in Messages then the Buddy List option will appear next to CMD and 1 in the Window menu list.
    NEXT
If you go to the General Section of the Messages Preferences you can unlink several Buddy lists if you have them (By default they are shown as one gathered Buddy list)
I Have several Accounts logged in (AIM valid and Jabber ones)
    Uploaded with Skitch!
And I separate them in to individual lists which then gives me this in the Window Menu
    Uploaded with Skitch!

  • Three line family plan. How do I cancel the line that's about to complete its two-year contract?

My phone is the primary line for a three-line family plan I share with my wife and brother. My two years is up this month, my wife's two years is up next month, and my brother's is up the month after that. As each contract expires, we want to cancel the family plan and switch over to month-to-month plans. One caveat: I'm abroad right now, so I simply want my service to lapse completely until I return in six months, and I'll worry about my phone then. How do I cancel my line when my contract expires this month? How do I switch my wife and brother's accounts over to month-to-month as their contracts expire?

Hi,  I was just looking into similar circumstances but I want to keep my daughter's line and only suspend mine.  My question is that if I suspend my phone can I still upgrade my daughter's line?  I was laid off and if I don't find another job then I want to cancel my phone but keep her phone active.  Her last phone the screen shattered so I want to renew her contract to get a new phone.  I am thinking of going thru the edge plan since it seems the price with the discount works out to be the same if I go that way instead of paying the full discounted price outright.  Can I upgrade her phone without renewing the contract on my phone?
    Thank you so much!!

  • One line out of contract, can I cancel another line under contract without ETF?

I've seen many people asking this question, but the answer was different from what I heard from the chat with CSR.
    So, does this idea work?
I have three lines on my account.
A - Upgrade available in 10/2012 (contract ends on similar date)
B - Upgrade available in 10/2013 (contract ends on similar date)
C - Upgrade available as of now (contract ended)
Basically, I have one line that's out of contract.
Since I have one line that's done with the contract, can I cancel one line even though it's still under contract from my account?
I thought this wasn't allowed, but in my recent chat with CSR named Cassey(she said she left notation about our conversation), she said it is possible and was so sure about that.
I was in the exact same situation back in March when I cancelled 4th line I used to have in my account.
I was told it couldn't be done that way and had to wait for a couple month with the charges.
Please clear this up so that I could take an appropriate action.

    hwangong wrote:
    So, is the answer "no"?
I can't cancel a line as long as it's under contract even though I have another line that's out of contract? Correct - the contract, or agreement is to keep a line of service active for 24 months after the upgrade (or purchase of a subsidized/discounted phone).  If the 24 months is not up, and you cancel that line, there will be an ETF based on the # of months out of the 24 that were fulfilled.
Then, I really wish there is a way I can talk to the rep I chatted.
I triple checked with her, she said I could do that, and she was so sure about it. Maybe she misunderstood the question??  Though it seems pretty clear to me what you are asking, and it's just as clear it's not the way it works!  The contract is on the line of service, and tied to that phone number.

  • [SOLVED]Problem with logging in after system upgrade

    Hi,
I'm encountering some problem after rebooting my machine just after last upgrade. Few minutes ago I was sure I found the source of the problem when system hang on "Reached target Graphical Interface" message. Reason - nvidia drivers had to be replaced with legacy version (https://www.archlinux.org/news/nvidia-340xx-and-nvidia/). But it didn't help. Also it made things a little bit worse. Because now my system uses nvidia-340xx and it seems drivers are fine but when login screen of lightdm should appear screens stay blank... and nothing happens. I simply can't do anything.
What I noticed is also xfce4-session was upgraded (4.10.1.3->4.10.1-5) and maybe this is the separate problem? but I can't downgrade this package as some time ago I removed all contents of /var/cache/pacman/pkg.
What I have is arch on pendrive so I can chroot into existing system.
    Any ideas?

I found something similar to line
    (EE) Mar 07 14:05:07 NVIDIA(0): WAIT: (E, 0, 0x837d, 0)
these values are not exact as I'm too tired now to rewrite the real ones from screen
maybe I should install some older nvidia drivers (these 340xx are broken somehow I think). Unfortunately I don't have my /pkg content anymore.
Where can I download packages like nvidia-340.32-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz from? (according to pacman.log I had this version back in July and it was working fine I think).
I could also start X with Nouveau drivers but not xfce (anyway I would like to install old nvidia drivers back)

I have the same problem too. the same graphic card model.
I temporarily change the driver to 'vesa' or 'fbdev' to make it render right.
but it may cause the resolution smaller.
    any suggestion ?

  • Time Machine backing up high amount of GB's after I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Is there a way to correct this?

After upgrading my IMac to Mountain Lion, Time Machine keeps backing up large amounts of data (50 to 60 GB at at time}. I have not imputed that kind of data into the Mac since I have lttle use for it for the moment. My back up disc is a Time Capsule. Help!

OK, I will hold for a couple of days see what happens. First back up after the upgrade was 10 gb. the second one is in progress and is backink up 59.8 gb.
No data inputs have occured since the last back up before the upgrade and usually I only do small tasks such as family photos, email and ocassionaly on line shopping such as a few songs from ITunes.
    Thanks I'll keep you informed.

  • LWAP issues with a 5508 controller after AP upgrade

Hi All, I’m having a few problems after upgrading my AP to a LWAP and hope you can help.
I have an AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9 which had c1240-k9w8-mx.124-21a.JA loaded, I followed the link below and upgraded with Cisco’s upgrade tool to c1240-rcvk9w8-mx with no problems at all, after the upgrade I could then see the LWAP on the 4402 controller and had it working a treat.
Now the problems begin, I brought it into the office where we have 5508 controllers, plug in the LWAP into our management switch and boot it up I get an IP assigned from the DHCP server and the AP goes into discovery mode but never finds the controller.
I have logged the boot process but this does not give much away, our other 1100 series AP’s boot fine, I was hoping that somebody here could help me resolve this issue.
    Link to upgrade material.

    Hi,
If new ap's arent on the same subnet as the controller's management interface, you've got to 'tell' them how initially find the controller.
Dns and dhcp option 43 are the most common methods:

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of it have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message. See, for example, this discussion.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. Try to test under conditions that reproduce the problem, as far as possible. For example, if the computer is sometimes, but not always, slow, run the test during a slowdown.
You may have started up in "safe" mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, a series of lines will appear in the Terminal window like this:
    [Process started]
Part 1 of 8 done at … sec
Part 8 of 8 done at … sec
The results are on the Clipboard.
            Please close this window.
    [Process completed]
The intervals between parts won't be exactly equal, but they give a rough indication of progress. The total number of parts may be different from what's shown here.
Wait for the final message "Process completed" to appear. If you don't see it within about ten minutes, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, press the key combination control-C or command-period to stop it. Then go to the next step.
    12. When the test is complete, or if you stopped it because it was taking too long, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I may not agree with them.

  • Mac Mini (Mid-2011 Core i7) Slow after Yosemite Upgrade

I've searched the other "slow after Yosemite upgrade" threads but those seem to relate to Core Duo 2 machines with less RAM.  I have a Core i7 MM w/ 8GB of RAM, after the Yosemite upgrade it constantly lags, I can barely type on it these days because the text lags so badly.  It's unusable to say the least.  Is there anything I can do to speed it up?  There must be a reason why the performance is so bad.
    Problem description:
    Slow after Yosemite upgrade.

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • G50-30 System is unstable after BIOS upgrade

After installing Windows 7 I decided to upgrade BIOS and picked the proposed update for Windows 7 64bit (http://support.lenovo.com/uu/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/g50-30-notebook-lenovo).
After applying the upgrade system boot failed. This issue was fixed using yapha7's advice (see this thread: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/Lenovo-G50-30-Bios-update-crashed-installed-win-7/m-p/1693051#M32265).
Well, OS boots. But now I can draw violet lines on a viewport by pressing two mouse buttons simultaneously. WLAN breaks periodically, gets fixed by a reconnection. CPU consumption increases without any resorce-intensive task being launched. It iss understood that latter two issues might not be related to a BIOS upgrade. But they all appeared shortly after the upgrade.
Also it is not clear if I'm able to use USB 3.0?
The current BIOS version is A7CN47WW. Is it possible to rollback? Can you provide the original / any stable BIOS version (for Lenovo G50-30 Windows 7 x64) which is prior to the one available at the drivers download page? Thank you!

    hi a_demenkov,
Just to check, have you considered reinstalling Win7 after you got the issues that you described after flashing the BIOs to v47?
If you're leaning towards downgrading to the BIOS to v45, try the following:
    1. Boot into the BIOs and enable BIOS Back Flash.
        - Sample image
    2. The BIOS v45 download link is not listed but if you look at the the BIOS v47 file below, you should be able to get v45 by renaming:
    BIOS v47
    https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/a7cn47ww_64.exe
    to
    BIOS  v45
    https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/a7cn45ww_64.exe
If you're not able to flash the BIOS inside Windows then you may need to do it under DOS.

    Goodluck!
