Cancel inspection lot when results already recorded
Hi,
I have an inspection lot created via the release of a process order, since the lot has been created the process order has been canceled and now there is a requirement to cancel the associated inspection lot also. However there are results recorded and confirmed against the inspection lot and the option in QA02 Functions ->Inspection lot -> cancel is no longer available? Any suggestions on how to cancel this inspection lot would be greatly appreciated.

Dear,
You need to use transaction QA12. In the intial screen enter the Inspection lot number and enter. From menu bar "Usage Decision" ->Functions->Cancel Lot and then save the lot.

Linkage of inspection lot when the stock is posted to new material in UD.
Dear QM Gurus,
My client has the following requirement.
The stock is sometimes posted to the new material whle Usage decision(Partially or completely)
In this case the target material has no linkage with the inspection lot of the material for which the Usage decision is done.
The user has to manually create the inspection lot for the target material and record the same results once again for the record purpose.
The requirement is to establish a link between the inspection lot original material and the target material so that the additional step of creating the manual inspection lot and result recording can be avoided.
Is there any standard functionality through which I can link the inspection lot/result recorded to the target material or can it be acieved through some enhance ments.

I am not aware about the standard functionality for this link. But following work around may work for you. Possibly you may have to develop the ABAP report for this linkage. Try this if works.
1. When you do material to material transfer in QA11 it generates a movement in background with material document generation.
2. Pass the inspection lot through QAMB table and fetch all material documents
3. Pass these material documents in MSEG table and get the material
4. You may put several conditions for fetching these details.

Mass change in Inspection lote, when assigning UD Code.
Dear all,
curently we are facing an issue of having to mass change inspection lotes when assigning UD code.
The senario is as follows:
using the tcode QA16 I can mass assign UD code for various inspection lotes using the option "in background". The requisition of the client is, however, to enter also a description text, for all the lotes treated. I an use the tcode QA16 and run a UD manual option, that lets me enter a long text for each inspection lote, along with assigning UD code. That is not acceptable, since there are daily hundrets of lots, we are talking about. That makes the manual option very time consuming.
Anyone had a similar issue? What I am looking for here is some exit, or other type of solution that allows me basically replicate the long text (the same for all treated lots) for various lots automatically. I was thinkig of QA16, making some necessary adjustments, but I not sure if it will serve for this purpose.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated,

I think you would need to go for BDC to achieve this. Since this is required on daily basis, you should run BDC to enter the long text against the UD for each batch. This should work.

Cancelling Inspection Lots - In Process Lots 03 origin
Hi,
I have recently deployed the QM module of ECC 6 to interact with a LIMS system via QM-IDI interface as part of an overall ECC 6 implementation. I generate inspection lots in the following scenarios:
1. Goods Receipt from Purchase Orders
2. In process inspections during production
3. Goods Receipt from Production
4. Recurring Inspections of existing stocks
5. Customer Returns
For scenario 1,3,4 and 5 the inspeciton lot has an associated goods movement, therefore if there is a cancellation of i.e. a GR then the associated inspection lot is also cancelled. However scenario 3 is driven by the release of a process order and therefore no goods movement. If a process order is cancelled (techo'd) can the associated inspection lot be cancelled?Yes.. it is done from within the process order. Not sure of the menu title but it's like the the first one on the left, and then additonal functions if I remember correctly. You should find Cancel inspection lot listed as a choice.

Inspection lot with origin 9 is the lot generated for Recurring inspection. You define in Material master the 'inspection interval' in days, so once that many days are passed the system will automatically post the stock of that batch from unrestricted to quality.
Once the lot is generated you should inspect that lot and post stock to unrestricted.
If you don't want lots of 09 origin to generate do following :
1) Remove 09 inspection type from material master.
2) Remove the Inspection interval from material master
3) Remove the materials from QA07 (deadline monitoring if batches)
This will ensure that no lots from 09 origin are generated.

Some times Inspection lot created after production is cancelled due to some reason, i.e we cancel the confirmation of the process order and again reconfirm the process order. So after above activities we get two inspection lot, Previous one has status LTCA and last one has status REL. We proceed ahead against REL only and Lot which has status LTCA remain reflecting useless in the system.
So we need LTCA Status should not be dispalyed after some time (let say 5 days).
This is my concern only.

You can change the Existing Inspection plans by doing setting at Cleint level as Replace MIC
When you cahnge MIC it will give popup of where used.You can change the task lists.
But this changes will not automatically reflect in an inspection lot.
for this you have to
Go to Qa02
Enter Inspection lot
Click on reset
save
check status of lot CRTD in QA32
now go to QA02
enter
click on Inspection Specification
selct sample
save
check status in QA32 as REL

RE:Cancelled Inspection lot
Hi All,
I am facing an issue. Due to some reasons I had to cancel all my operation level confirmations for a production orders which also resulted in the cancellation for the inspection lot for the inspection type 04 created. Now I am trying to process the inspection lot again,but the message the system is prompting is : the inspection lot has been cancelled" Now I cannot proceed further untill I do the inpection.
Please advice me what should be done in this case.
One more concern.
As I have mentioned that I had reversed the confirmation,now when I try to see the confirmation qty for in-process inspection I dont find any qty. I think this is due to reversal of the confirmation.As the confirmation for in process inspection is done while result recording,In my case the RR & UD is also done. So,In case please advice how to proceed.

1. as you have cancelled all the operation leval confirmation, so system had cancell subsequently the lot created against the GR.
as lot is cancelled you can not process the lot.
so you need to do the order confirmation again , so sytem will create one more lot.
2.here i need to advice one point generally the inprocess inspection (03) will not ahve the qty postings. only the stock will be posted against the GR for production(04).

To QM people - status and cancelling date of cancelled inspection lots
In what table/fields do I know that an inspection lot is cancelled and the cancelling date?
Transaction QA33 shows an LTCA system status.
JEST table shows only the status (I believe that it registers all the status the lot passed by), but not the cancelling date.

I need to know not only that the inspection lot is cancelled (I get this on JEST table), but also when it was cancelled. For ex. on monday night I loaded from QM to BW an inspection lot that was registered during the day. This lot was cancelled for ex. on thursday. At the night load I have to identify it and load the lot to BW, to maintain is as cancelled also in BW.
What I discovered until now:
- The OBJNR on QALS is the constant "QL" plus the lot number (prueflos).
- On JEST table I have all my lots (from QALS), with the correct status. The cancelled lots have STAT = I0224. But the table doesn't have the cancelling date.
- JCDS table seems to be a good chance, it has status and date fields. But my lots (from QALS) are not there. And, curious, I didn't find any I0224 status.
Everything on the project is OK, this is the only unsolved question, so I'll appreciate any quick answer.

How to cancel inspection lot with REL status

I am not able to close old process orders becuase of active inspection lots in the system, Error message is "inspection lot doesnot have necessary data" . I could see there are lot many old inspection lots which are in REL status, I am not able to cance these inspection lots in QA02(option is grayed out) How to cancel these inspection lots which are in REL status?

Cancel Inspection Lot where UD has been done

If a user has Posted Inspection stock wrongly and also made the usage decission for a Inspection Lot.Then user relealised and want to correct the stock postings.In this case I'm going to cancel the inspection lot but sys is giving me the error "ststus check error , Usage decision has been made".

I Maintained my own inspection type in the material masters which is the copy of 01 Inspection type.
1)As you suggested to maintain the inspection type 08 - Stock transfer inspection in the material master then do the transfer posting for 322 movement type, Do i need to change the material masters every time for this inspection or do i need to maintain 08 defaulty for all the material masters.
2) In case if GRN is 10 qty
Accepted qty is 5
Returned qty is 5.
Now in the above case user has entered wrong qty in both Accepted and returned and did the UD.So how reverse or cancel the lot to process the lot again with correct qty.

If you are cancelling the lot only because inspection plan is not being attached, then try this first:
1. Create an inspection plan which has a validity date on or prior to the inspection lot craetion date. Now attach this plan to the lot and refresh. System status becomes REL
2. Check in material master of the material that auto assignment, check characteristic tabs are ticked.
If you still want to cancel, Sujit has alrady explained what to do. -
Inspection lot 04 cancellation
Hello QM gurus !
In the material master data of my produced material, I have entered an inspection type 04.
When I have done my GR on process order, inspection lot 04 has been created (status REL).
Now I want to cancel this inspection lot and I don't want the inspection results to be transfer to the batch MM.
Do you know a way to cancel inspection lot 04 ?

Comments: function cancel lot is grey in QA02Since you haven't made a UD yet, you can delete out all your resutls.
Then use MBST to cancel the material document associated with the GR from the order.

BTW, the sampling procedure in Inspection Plan is a read-only field, but empty inside.
DanielDear in your case there is no Inspection plan was attached to the lot so attach the plan and make lot status to REL then only you can do Results Recording.
Inspection plan gets auto assigned to availble inspection plan on respective date if you enabled the inspction with tasklist and automatic assignment boxes in relevant inspection types in MM QM view for this Inspction plant should be made avaialble in stsyem before any lot created which can be created QP01.
If it is not getting assiged automatically then you can assign it manually by QA02 here go to inspection specification tab click on Task list assignment the go to sample tab and click on sample and SAVE Inspection plan will be attached to inspection plan.
Once inspection plan is the lot status you can see REL before assignment of a plant it would be CRTD.
