Hello ralphsaperstein and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing notification issues on the BlackBerry® Torch™ 9810 smartphone.
Something to check, if you go into the current active profile and click on each email account, is the vibration set to off?
If so and the notifications still vibrate, I would suggest you reset your Sounds/Profiles database as shown in KB10167 How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone.
After the database is cleared monitor with new emails to ensure the vibration has ceased.
If so, then reconfigure your custom tones and sounds.
Let me know how you make out.

  • 5800 v51.0.006 Message vibration alert too short

    Hello,
I recently updated my phone's software from v21 to v51.
but one thing is bugging me..
why did the vibration alert when getting a message get so short?
I mean before the update the phone vibrated for i think something like 1 whole second.. and now after i've updated it it's become less than half so I cant notice it anymore if its in my pocket.
call vibration alert length is still normal.
anything I can do ? I didnt find a setting anywhere...

  • Vibration alert causing problems for a deaf iPhone user

    Hello,
I very recently acquired myself an iPhone 3GS, and have been trying to work out how to make it so I can actually tell when I receive an SMS.
I'm severely/profoundly deaf and cannot hear the ringtones that come with the iPhone. I also cannot feel the vibration alert as it is so weak on the phone. I wanted to contact apple to discuss this with them as it really is quite discriminating to disabled users, but of course you can only contact them by phone, which is even worse as I can't hear people on the phone!!!
I'm really quite upset about this as I paid a lot of money for a phone that I love but can't really use due to the lack of vibration. I have constantly missed text messages due to this problem, and so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for me at all?

Thank you very much for that Feedback link, I wrote them a long email explaining how disappointed I am in their lack of accessibility for those with a hearing impairment. I'm hopeful that they'll actually contact me regarding this, as it is a serious matter that they are not providing for those with a serious hearing impairment (particularly regarding contacting them!)
I also looked at the TTY adapter, but that wouldn't help me at all, I don't think. I cannot use a phone to call anyone, I use my phone for text messaging and the web, which is why I chose an iPhone on o2, it fitted my needs perfectly (apparently not for vibration, sadly).
I really appreciate the responses, you've both been very helpful. Just a waiting game to see what happens now really. Thanks again.

    Hi hamir_bih,
    Welcome to the Nokia forum.
When you go to Menu > Settings > Profiles > Select profile > Personalise > Touch screen vibration you will be able to adjust the vibartion level to a maximum of level three. This is the highest vibration level the device can be set to.
    Hope this clears things up.

  • Nokia 3110 - vibrating alert

Bought 2 (company) 3110's today - another company phone is already 3110.
Neither of the new ones vibrate when ringing although I have set both to do so both in Profiles and Settings. The older 3110 does. (Older only by about 6mths)
This is crucial for our line of business, so the phone is useless without this facility. It does specify in the phone details that the vibration alert is a specification of this phone.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong??
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Have you tried restarting both phones and try if the same thing happens?
If the phone still does not show any improvement/s, I suggest you to send the phone to the Nokia Care Centre near you as both phones might have a faulty hardware part.
    Good luck

Any device that Palm manufaturers currently should be able to get the data from the older device.
Although Palm doesn't make handhelds anymore you can get a smartphone and transfer the data over to it without issue.
If you go to the new WebOS you can transfer the data over it just might take a little work.

  • Iphone 5 vibration alert

Does anyone know if the strength of the vibration alert has been increased in iphone5 compared to 4?
I have a family member who is hearing impaired and is dependent on vibe alert  for txt and email.
She is unable to feel the iphone 4/4s when it is clipped to a holster, as such she has stayed with a Blackberry.
I know there are vibe settings but the alert is very weak.

I think she will need to try one. I have an iPhone 4, iPhone 5, Blackberry Curves and Bolds from work and to be honest I can feel and detect the vibrating alert in all of them and as I'm in meetings a lot, my phones spend a great deal of time on vibrate only
If anything yes, the 5 seems more intense than the 4. maybe as its lighter it moves more for the same buzz. But I can certainly detect in in my chest pocket or back pocket
Hope that helps, but its so subjective she will need to try one

  • Email Vibration Alert Issue

I have a weird issue with notification vibrations. I have the vibration alerts for both messages and email set to their default settings, basically, one vibration for email and two for messages. When the phone comes up from a fresh reboot both vibration alerts work as expected (one vibration for email and two for messages). However, as soon as I receive a message, the email vibration alert seems to mimic the messages vibration (I.E. when I get an email, I get two vibrations as if I received a message). I'm not sure what is causing this. I've even gone as far as setting a custom vibration alert for email with one vibration, yet as soon as an email comes in, it vibrates twice like a received a message. Has anyone experienced this before?
This started since I first got the iphone 6. I was hoping a software update would fix this issue, yet after each update, the issue remains.

Seems a full reset has fixed the issue.
You mean a reset or a restore?  Did you force the device to 'reboot', or did you restore a backup to the device or restore it as new?

  • Vibration alert not worked

sir After IOS 7 updation my phone vibration alerts not worked

The battery probably is dead. LiIon batteries last from two to six years, depending on usage and how deeply it's been discharged.
The vibrating alert is probably going to be a simple fix. One of the wires are probably just loose and needs re-soldering. If you're comfortable with soldering electronics and opening the device, I suggest you just open the device and solder the wire(s) back yourself. Or, you can send it to Chris Short or http://www.usedpdaparts.com for a small fee and they'll fix it for you and make sure everything is working as it should.

  • Vibration alert is too loud

Hi, I sent my iPhone 4 to apple service for warranty-reasons and got an new exchanged iphone back in return. But now the vibration alert is way too loud. It is even louder than the ring tone. Unfortunately the 90 day warranty is over and it hasn't bothered me at first but now it is really annoying. I compared it to other iphone 4 phones and the vibration on mine is the loudest. Is there any chance of getting it fixed for free, since I think it is a production failure?

If the test fails, your phone is defective and will need to be repaired to regain the vibrate function again.
    Cheers.

  • I upgraded to iOS5 and now the vibration alert feels like the phone is dying. The battery life is still good. Any ideas?

The intensity of the vibration alert dropped to almost nothing followign the upgrad to iOS5.

It will not help. I have tried that. I have even put my Phone in Airplane mode to make sure it closes all APPS but it simply doesnt help. Join the gang!
My frustation is that I got the phone for all the features it offers and if I cant use those features what good does the phone do?

  • How to cancel all alert email in WF_NOTIFICATIONS_OUT Queue.

    Hi,
Could any body show how to cancel all the alert email present in WF_NOTIFICATIONS_OUT queue.
We are running 12.0.4. i have seen Doc. id. 433359.1 Tracking Workflow Notification Event Messages.
According to this before i can recreate the queue i need to process the alert emails.
I do not want these alert emails to be processed since it is a clone instance. I want it to either go to a test email account or to be discarded
    completely.
I know how to send it to test email account by using setoverrde address functionality in OAM. But for that to be set i need to start the mailer (which is currently down), if i start, it will start firing these pending alert emails in WF_NOTIFICATIONS_OUT.
    Kindly suggest.

    Hi,
These documents talk about purgin WF_NOTIFICATIONS_OUT queue. But document i mentioned
    says.
    7. Try rebuilding the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue if necessary
The wfntfqup.sql script rebuilds the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue by dropping and recreating
that queue, removing pending notification messages from the WF_DEFERRED queue, and
repopulating the WF_NOTIFICATION_OUT queue from the Oracle Workflow Notification System
    tables.
    Wfntfqup.sql Version >=115.9
If you have implemented Oracle Alert and the WFNOTIFICATION_OUT queue contains any pending_
alert e-mail messages, those messages must be processed before the queue can be rebuilt. The
wfntfqup.sql script checks the queue for any alert e-mail messages and, if it finds any, the
script returns an error message that specifies how many alert e-mail messages are pending
and indicates that these messages must be processed before the script can run.
    Kindly suggest.

  • N95 8GB unlokced , Vibrating alert does not work

    Hi
I just bought used N95 8 GB from my friend which is locked to a network provider.
My friend took it to shop to unlock service provider (he didn't realise that service provider does it for free), now I tried to test income call vibration but it seems to me it does not work , I tried under Tool > Profile > Create new profile (vibrating on) ,,,,but still there is no vibration when I receive call!!!
I tried "Factory Settings" for the mobile but still same problem
Would unlock be the reason for that (I don't know if vibration was working before unlock) ?
Any other suggestion how to test that ?
    Thanks

1- Yes it already has updated firmware
2- I did a hard resst without any success.

  • Audio/vibrate alert when battery charge reaches 100%???

I just got my iPhone 3GS about two weeks ago (before the 3.1 update.) And once the battery would reach 100% when charging, the phone would either play an audio tone or it would vibrate (if the silence switch was on.) Now since 3.1 it's not doing it anymore.
Anyone else notice this? I wonder why they would remove such a brilliant feature?

I have the 3G since it was introduced and never noticed this feature. The only time it would vibrate twice is when I put it into the dock or connect it to my mac to charge and the silent switch is activated.
I just charged from 90% to 100% and didn't get any notification at all.
